Roach in the shower

Disgusting. Arrived at the hotel to not find a single person in the lobby for 15 min. They seem understaffed but I only ever experienced 1 out of college guy managing the place and for the most part never at the front desk. Then with walking the halls to my room expect to find dead centipedes around from a terrible cleaning job that doesn't try. Then to have found a live roach in my shower once I arrived.

Standard room.

It's an okay hotel for a price in Miami. Convenient location to the restaurants, stores, highway and airport

TLDR: Nice but dated…read more Was here on a business trip and the area around the hotel and the lobby looked the part of a high end hotel.....that ended when I got to the room, well once I walked the country mile to get to the room....well it was cold as a meat locker in there and I'm good with that (ac runs good and that familiar humming that's perfect for sleep) Kind of a hardwood floor (prefer carpet) and very early 2000 flat screen tv and small. Dated lock on the patio door and barebones chairs on the balcony but not that big of a deal. Now to the bathroom and this place is straight out of 1994....peach tile walls, podium sink and chair height toilet at least but the tub shower is actually like a inch higher then normal tubs so definitely got to take a big step getting in... Now to check the water....hot water took almost 5 PLUS mins to START to warm up for bathroom sink and outside sink....turns on hot water for the shower and it's starts to get warm in 2-3 mins but definitely worried that I'm gonna have to take lukewarm showers all week. So I go to the hotel resturant thinking this was former Shula hotel and I sorta remember Shula steakhouse so I thought that's what I would be getting....nope. Decent egg rolls appetizer but steak was Texas Roadhouse ish(cooked properly but very little seasoning or flavor) I did ask the front desk clerk if the hot water is slow and he agreed then I made my way to another zip code back to the room as there is only two elevators and wouldn't you know it that the elevator closest to my room broke down for a day so I took the stairs. At least it was quiet throughout the week but I think that's just from not too many people staying on that side of the hotel. So I think this place is still riding on the nostalgia on yesteryear but a standard Holiday Inn is light years ahead of this place.

Oh my God. I've never had such a strong opinion about a hotel. Right off the bat, it's pretty…read moredepressing. I'm not from Miami, but Miami lakes is probably not where you want to be hanging out of you're from out of town. The hotel appears as if it was randomly placed, then quickly forgotten. The staff doesn't want to be there, possibly because the customers treat them so badly. If you stay in this hotel, you will be so far removed from any sense of human decency that you won't know if it's possible to ever find it again. I will have to stay in 100 bed and breakfasts run by kind old couples before I can get this taste out of my mouth. To be more specific: the night I showed up, they informed me that I had no room (for a reason they couldn't disclose) and that I would be moved to a somehow more depressing sister hotel, the Shula. After spending one miserable night in a hotel I didn't reserve, I was told by the manager that I couldn't move back into the Indigo because I hadn't checked out of the Shula. If I wanted to move into the Indigo I would have to pay for both rooms for all 3 nights. "There is nothing we can do about it" they kept saying until I completely lost all decency (or rather, stooped to their level) and yelled at the manager over the phone. This immediately solved the problem and I could move into the room I reserved weeks ago without having to also pay for another random room at the Shula. I hate that this hotel drove me to yell at some poor guy just so they would honor the most basic hotel policies. Never stay here. Never support a business that cares this little about it's customers. EDIT: 15 minutes after writing this review, I could not unlock my hotel room door. I tried getting a new key, but the door still did not open. After sitting the hallway for 20 minutes (it's midnight by the way), the front desk told me they need to call an engineer to fix the battery in the door. Luckily a colleague of mine has a room down the hall with an extra bed. Hopefully I will be able to get into me room in the morning and get my bags before my flight home. This is a tragic and hilariously degrading hotel. EDIT #2: 1:43am... Literally an hour after my last update, trying to sleep in my colleagues extra bed (because I am, of course, locked out of my room), a woman starts yelling and banging on the door next to ours. She is screaming at the top of her lungs that her boyfriend has locked her out. At one point we peer out our door to ask if she's okay and she cusses us out, turning toward us looking like she might attack. Since then we have been silent inside our room listening to terrifying noises of screaming, pounding, and physical fighting. There was clearly an assault and now most of the floor is awake trying to calm her down. It sounds like the police have arrived. I truly don't know if I can condemn this hotel for ruining every one of my three nights here. It's almost not it's fault, because even if evil, I don't think it could devise a master plan so horrible and heartless. Nevertheless, this is a review site, and there are other hotels in Miami to stay. Don't risk it. Don't let it slowly break you down the way it has so many people. Find another place and let this hell hole slowly wither out of business.

From the view of the lobby, the pool gate is padlocked so we assumed it was closed but there is a second gate to the right that allows access. There is no hot tub and only an outdoor pool. When entering the room, it had a musty smell but as we stayed we didn't notice it. It seemed like it rained the day before we arrived, so possibly that was the reason. We had only a standup shower in our bathroom and the floor of it looked dirty - not sure if stained or if it hadn't been scrubbed. The shower does flood the bathroom from an opening in the shower door. There was also construction noise outside at night 9pm-12am. The staff were nice and helpful. There is free breakfast in the mornings, I would get up early or take some back to the room because it gets busy! There were front parking spots every night for us and I would expect Semi's to be parked around since it is so close to the highway. The shower water pressure was great, water got really hot (just how I like it), and everything was in working order. Everything looked clean besides the shower floor. Overall, I think it was a great cheap option to stay in Miami! Just nitpicking little things that might bother others.

I was only here for two nights, and I had to check in late because my room was not ready. They never got to my room either day because it was at the end of the hall. I ended up getting some clean sheets and making the bed myself as well as clean towels and I left the garbage outside my door. One of the days, I left, had breakfast, did a little sight seeing and returned to the room about 3p and they still hadn't gotten to it. And the funny thing is, or should I say ironic... the day I was to checkout, they were knocking on my door early. Which made me wonder why that was not the case the first two days.
