In the end, I needn't have worried - it was well worth it! We were 4 people, after all. The suite has a full kitchen including a dishwasher and coffee maker, dining room, and living room, 2 TVs, a shared BBQ, a view of the water, and it sleeps 6, although it has 2 separate bedrooms. The master bedroom has a huge ensuite with a soaker jet-tub and separate shower, but what surprised me was the free washer and dryer set tucked away behind the master clothes closet. People 5 and 6 would have had to sleep on the fold out couch. The other beds were comfortable, but I can't speak for the couch ;-) Well laid out with lots of space, and the free wifi does not hurt. I wouldn't hesitate to go back again.

The toilet seats were rough and peeling, the kitchen supplies, utensils, cutlery, etc was clearly bought as cheaply as possible. * nothing here is energy efficient * The patio furniture is cheap and flimsy & the table literally came apart when I tried to move it. * The unit was not very clean when we arrived (dust bunnies & cobwebs in the corners), and there are no cleaning supplies in the unit. We asked for a vacuum & one was supplied * The water pressure was inconsistent and the faucets were sticky and old, leading to several blasts of water incidents. * thin walls... we could hear our neighbour's conversations. * small, threadbare towels * crappy pillows on the bed (glad we brought our own) I loved the area, but not the resort.

We arrived without a reservation, but she was able to accommodate us no problem! The room was nice and spacious, super clean and up to date! I slept lap well on the comfy bed, my husband didn't but that was because I was sleeping so well I snored and woke him up. I sept through breakfast but my husband said it was great! He had an Omelet and bacon and toast and liked the coffee. He brought me a tea and or was nice as well. The shower was glorious with good pressure and lots of hot water! Bonus points for large refillable bottles on the wall that cuts back on plastic waste! Which is super important to me. When we were leaving our room the housekeepers were in the hallway a couple rooms down from us and I didn't hear them at all when we were in our room and they were so nice and friendly! We waited in the comfortable chairs in the lobby for our ride, the chairs are so comfortable. Thank you so much for the nice stay! Our daughter and son in law have moved to Petawawa so we will be back!

The family owned business uses lots os vegetables, and didn't skimp I'm this area which pleased us. Large variety of menu items. Hope theu do well! It's not an easy highway for businesses. There is also a gym, meeting room, and small pool and hot tub. This place is only a half mile walk to the Canadian tire Centre, so it's a good place to stay if you're from out of town and want to catch a game or concert at the arena.

It's our 2nd time at Loom Bistro inside this lovely little B&B and it proved that the first time wasn't a fluke. This was another spectacular scrumptious playfully delicious meal. If I could give it 6 stars, I would. The blue cheesecake with crostini and fig jam was out of this world. As unique a tasting cheese appetizer as I've ever had. The empanadas were fresh and lovely. The short rib was moist as moist can be...the bacon topped bread pudding along side it was perfection. The fresh pasta with wild boar was delectable and mild but complex and superb. Both desserts were splendid and paired perfectly. The very sweet chocolate cake and the more creamy tart cheesecake. With 2 glasses of wine and 20% tip it was $150. Worth every penny and then some. Kudos to the chef...show yourself and take a bow. The hotel is great (please put some curtains in the judges chamber...!!) We love our quarterly staycation here. What a find! I needed a place to stay while my new condo was being readied in Almonte. The innkeeper, Rob, greeted me warmly and carried my bag up to my room -- spacious, clean, bright, with a magnificent river view. Such a gorgeous building. Staff all very friendly. Restaurant to die for. First night the exquisitely talented Chef Hunter served me salmon that had been smoked over maple chips and basted with a maple glaze. Superb wine list. Second night was a steak salad with the most flavorful tomatoes I have ever tasted. Fresh herbs from their garden garnish most dishes. And sensational desserts! Breakfasts were amazing: you request a time to have your choice of coffee delivered to your room and then a half hour later, you saunter into the restaurant where your breakfast is waiting - first day I had coddled eggs (absolute perfection) with buttery, crunchy toast fingers, and the next I ordered shirred eggs. My stay was flawless. If I could make one recommendation, it would be to have a hair dryer in the room. Cannot wait to recommend to visiting friends and relatives.

TL;DR/The Short Version: The only big chain hotel in Perth,…read moreON. It ranks towards the middle of the pack in comparison to other Best Westerns, in my opinion. The Long Version: My husband and I were staying a night in Perth, Ontario and stayed at this Best Western. There was a wedding going on that weekend (not the reason we were there), so it was quite busy. They have a small parking lot that's broken up into 3 different areas. We lucked out and found a parking spot, but it was really crowded and due to it being winter with snow on the ground covering the painted lines and some snow banks, some spots were not available and people were parked not as neatly as they could have. When we booked, there was only one room left, the accessible room, so we took it, even though we didn't need an accessible room. When we arrived we told the front desk the story and advised them that if they needed the accessible room for someone else, we could take a different room. They said they didn't need it, but the room is next to the kitchen so if we weren't part of the wedding, they'd move us because it will be loud with lots of traffic. Apparently they had a cancellation so they moved us. I appreciated this. We did end up getting 2 queen beds instead of a king bed, which was ok, we didn't use the second bed and just had to snuggle closer on the first bed, haha. We did get there a bit early and they said they could check us in but there would be a $25 early check-in fee, so we said we'd be back and check in at the regular time. When we returned a bit before 5pm check-in went smoothly. Staff were pleasant. The room itself looked nice and was spacious. The first thing I noticed was they fold towels into cute shapes and place them on the bed. We had 2 different swans. They still have miniature toiletries which I prefer over the wall-mounted toiletries that so many hotels have switched over to. I find the minis more sanitary and minis are just so cute, lol. The body lotion wasn't the best quality though. It was winter and my hands were dry like sandpaper and the lotion did not keep my hands moisturized. So anyone who knows me, knows I Clorox all hard surfaces in hotel rooms as soon as I arrive (something I've been doing for the past 20 years, lol). The cleaning in the bathroom wasn't as thorough as I would have liked because when I wiped the sink counter with a Clorox wipe, all these short gray hairs ended up on the wipe. Looked like the previous guest trimmed their beard or cut their hair or something. The counter had that dark granite appearance, so it was hard to see the hair. I actually didn't even see it looking at the counter, but definitely saw it when my Clorox wipe picked it all up. The underside of the towel rack was also rusted and turned my Clorox wipe all brown. I did like that the room was large. I also liked that the towels were not too close to the toilet, although they were over the toilet, which is not my preferred placement (but at least not literally an inch from the top of the toilet like I've seen at other hotels, yuck). I liked that the bathroom had a magnifying mirror that pulled out from the wall. Very useful for applying makeup. The bathroom was also well-lit. The sink, while pretty was a bit inconvenient because the faucet spout didn't come out enough to the centre of the basin. The faucet was too close to the wall and the counter stuck out of the wall a lot, so you have to lean really forward to get your hands under the faucet, but you can't stand closer because the counter is in the way. Maybe it was just our room. At first I thought it was just me because I'm short with short arms, but my husband is 5'11" (with arms proportional to his height) and he had the same complaint, lol. I like that they had both a fridge and a microwave. The mini fridge however, did not have a freezer section. I liked that the beds were raised. There's a coffee machine that makes Van Houtte coffee and hot chocolate in the lobby (no French Vanilla drinks though, which is my favourite from these types of machines). There's also a good selection of Higgins and Burke, and President's Choice teas. These drinks are complimentary for guests. You get complimentary breakfast at their restaurants The Locks with your stay. Breakfast is 7am-10am and it's not a buffet, you order from a limited menu. Breakfast was ok, nothing too memorable. We both had bacon and eggs which came with home fries and toast. They also have a pool, sauna and fitness centre, none of which we used. Overall, an alright stay. We would stay again. G'night! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ More details: we stayed at the motel side of this "resort", which to me doesn't really describe the place: it's not quite that fancy! The motel is on the north side of Calabogie Road, while on the south side of the road Jocko's also offers cottages, which are right on the beach. I'm sure those are a bit more expensive. We were impressed with the room in the motel, because the room itself was bigger than anticipated and it also included a kitchenette with enough room to also offer a table big enough for 4 people to eat at. Beware though, if you stay here: wash all your dishes and dry them and put them away before you leave - otherwise they charge extra for cleaning up after you! I was just so glad to have a place to sleep after the shift and the show at the Peaks, and not having to drive an hour home, get too little sleep and drive back for the 7:00 shift! The Calabogie area is quite pretty, and I would recommend a visit. We go every year.

Some of the equipment was not in great condition (kayak paddles with sharp broken edge). There were a few cabins on the lake side and the motel across the road, well back from a road that was not too busy and easy to cross. I would have given this a higher rating if the check out was 11 not 10 and "satelitte" tv was more than basic cable channels and had the ability to connect a DVD or your laptop. Also, while they did let people use the beach after the early checkout they did not offer any option for changing even though there was a washroom onsite. It seems like a small thing but not being able to use the facilities before a long drive is a bit much especially since they did not make a point of being present during the days while we were there to do periodic washroom cleaning and they had no finished cleaning all the rooms so that washroom could be last. That said, it was a good deal and I would go back. Calabogie is a great area with lots of options for day trips etc. It's a friendly very small town. The Redneck Bistro in town is good and The Neat cafe in Burnstown was very good.
