Have spoke to the owner for 12 months and always advised to check back for my spot. My intake paper appeared to be missing today, and pressed to purchase a clock I had my eye on rather than repair mine. With such "odd" happenings... I am concerned. Our Grandfather Clock got messed up when we moved from Texas to Jeffersonville. I called or contacted via website 2 other clockmakers and never got a reply. I called Jon at Somewhere In Time and he was straight from the get-go. 1) Yes, I'm familiar with that type of clock 2). I can come to your home and try to get it set up properly. 3) Here's what I charge unless I run into some problems, like you need parts 4). Sorry, it'll be about 3 weeks before I can get there So, we set an appt, and Jon arrived just as promised. He got right to work and disassembled the clock, lubed it, reset a bunch of stuff and before long the clock was keeping time and chiming on the quarter hour. Jon knows his stuff. And he's a fun guy who loves dogs. Just a fabulous experience and well worth the wait. And speaking of wait, if your clock needs an overhaul rather than a setup, he's working a year and a half out! Yes, he's that busy. If you're thinking of getting some clock work done, call now for a 2023 appt. Believe me, he'll get your collectible running perfectly. read more

Jon serviced my mothers 1979 Howard Miller grandfather clock Tuesday. He really has a heart for these old clocks. He has a really great attitude. She just had him to service this clock but recommended a over haul due to worn parts but was not high pressure. If she changes her mind in 60 days he will discount part of todays service call toward the more intense repair and guarentee the over haul for TWO yrs. Unheard of. Highly recommend. read more

Hi, I just had to take the time out of my busy life to write a stellar review, of this fantastic clock repair business and owner. Not only did I get a beautifully restored solid wood Grandfather clock that was made in Germany, I also got a personable and well educated owner who was honored to share the story of how he had learned personally, the intricacies of clock repair and building clock's from his grandfather and that this craft had been handed down to him by many generations before him. So this truly is a genuine art form and talent. Which is evident in the pride the owner takes in his craft and artful workmanship. I have had my beautiful Grandfather clock for ten years now, or more and never has it missed a beat or needed to be repaired. Well wait, I take that back.There was a time about a year ago I had pulled one of my chimes down too tightly and called Jon, the owner and he walked me through fixing it without skipping a beat. He was even able, through the phone, able to hear with such fine tuned detail whether my Grandfather clock was balanced properly on the floor and by the sound and timing of the secondhand. Which I adjusted accordingly with his instructions. And since he has his own company web page now, I was able to go and find another beautiful old Kitchen clock that he restored and, in my opinion at a very good price. I listen to it chime on the hour everyday and have never had an issue with it at all. Except to say that friends and family come over and want to take it home with them! If you have never purchased from this business/owner Jon, I can say without hesitation that I have known him for over 10 years now professionally and he has never failed to handle his business with great integrity and honesty.
