We are across the country and called Something Special to order an arrangement for a family member that had passed. (They were the closest to my desired location) That was at 12:19PM and I asked the employee many questions to make sure the feelings were conveyed properly to my relatives. She took my requests and assured me it would go out today. The owner called me when she returned to the shop to assure me she would tend to this sensitive order, telling me the flowers and colors to be used. Lisa sent me a photo of the finished product. I got a text from a family member at the house at 12:48PM with the very same arrangement and the comments "Its is stunning! They advertise that they're the only florist in Old Greenwich -- would be more accurate to say that they're the worst florist in all of Greenwich -- probably in all of Connecticut. Terrible customer service and the bouquet that they delivered several days late consisted mostly of dying flowers. She is nothing but rude, disrespectful, and pious to not only her employees, but her customers as well. I was a little nervous because the reviews on Yelp were critical of their customer service but that was not my experience at all! Both the owner as well as the staff were so courteous and went above and beyond even. I ordered flowers for a friend's birthday and they were so beautiful. I called this store 2 weeks in advance to my needs - a flower crown for my daughters first holy communion. Being the week of mother day the owner told me she was slammed and couldn't take my order right now but 'don't worry, come on in next week, we'll chat all about it' I asked her if she needed lots of advance notice - she told me not to worry! When I came in to the shop to speak with her in person , she told me two other people already called in and she couldn't take me and it takes 12 hours to make one crown and she didn't have time. This store is run by a women who does not value her customers or even her employees. Walking in the store you don't feel as though you are wanted, and instead a burden for those working. I have had several encounters with this store and it's owner and I would not recommend it to anyone who is in the area or ordering flowers for those in other areas. There is better ownership and quality in a grocery store floral department. Based on owners treatment of others and employees I will not be shopping here again. read more

I walked into the store (Sunday before Christmas) and these folks were clearly very busy - BUT - I was treated with respect and patience, as I tried to figure out what to send a local friend for her birthday. The perfect suggestion was made and it was well within my price range. I was able to see the flowers going into this special arrangement to be delivered that week. Very impressed with their professionalism and pleasant personalities. I will keep this as my go-to florist in town, and recommend them to my friends and family.
