A few months back, I was too slow in reserving my usual barber and needed to find someone else in a hurry. Based on the reviews and proximity to my home, I settled on Solutions. Upon contacting the shop, they informed me of a new customer discount. Note to businesses: a new customer discount is only an effective marketing strategy if the quality of service leads to repeat business. I certainly won't be returning to Solutions. First impressions of the shop were that it had a young and vibrant vibe. The staff and clientele were largely latino or afro-latino and were laughing and chatting. My barber fell seemed to have very limited command of the English language. Although he nodded and indicated his agreement when I told him what I wanted, he completely ignored what I said. And while I cautioned that cutting my mid-length hair too short would cause problems, he cut it very short all the same. The result was that I walked out of Solutions with the shortest hair I've ever had in my life. I didn't mind the new look too much, even though it wasn't what I wanted or asked for. The real problems started in the days, weeks, and months to follow when my hair awkwardly grew back and stuck up in all directions. When I returned to my usual barber, he was horrified. It took literally about 4 months for my hair to stop sticking up in back and return to normal. Needless to say, I won't be returning to Solutions. read more

I'm extremely extremely unhappy with this shop. I sent my 14 year old to get a haircut while I was at work down the block. To my surprise when I saw his haircut he looked like a totally different person. My son had long curls all around ,his hair length was up to his chin , so he asked for a trim on the length. Guess what the barber did.... He chopped all his hair off n left him with 1/2 inch of hair. Than his defense was that my son asked him to cut half , now I know half of about 6 inches would be 3 inches. I don't see how this is acceptable. They didn't offer to return my money or even half absolutely nothing, so paid full price for a very bad cut, his shape up wasn't straight either. I feel like barbers don't typically take kids or teenagers haircuts as seriously as they would with an adult, which is very frustrating! But I can say they did not give me attitude and seemed like good ppl. Perhaps they are a great location but my sons experience was not the best. read more

The atmosphere was exceptional- with expert service that was extremely friendly and welcoming. I am someone that is not nearly as keen on hair-styling techniques, so it was nice to have professionals that really understood what I was looking for in a haircut. Certainly the most positive vibe from a barbershop I've encountered in quite some time, as the entire place was laughing and having a good time. It is also worth noting that the barber had meticulous attention to detail, and really took his time while cutting my hair, which was something that could potentially be overlooked that I really appreciated. I'm new to the area and wanted to get a quick haircut. At first I walked into a another barber shop close by this one, they quoted me $30 dollars for just a fade! Also the guy who said it kinda looked at me condescendingly and seemed like he wanted to rip me off, so I left and went further down the road. I luckily stepped into this barbershop, so glad I did. I asked for the same thing and the guy who ran the place here gave me such a welcoming response and made it work out. I just showed them a picture on my insta of how I like my hair cut. Felt great because how friendly they were and felt even better because of how fresh I looked. Definitely will come back after a couple weeks! Solutions barber shop in jersey city is one of the best shops in NJ.. in north jersey there is a barber shop every 5 feet but the barbers in Solutions take pride in their craft & have you feeling good after each & every cut.. my personal barber is Juan aka @JMGthebarber find him on instagram! I brought me kids to solutions looking pretty scruffy and they left looking like hair models. These guys are excellent at what they do!

I have been here before they charged about 18 dollars for a beard shape up and haircut. The problem is I am mostly BALD. Going to the barber is like giving away a Donation Serious! I know how to do all my shaving myself. But today I got here around 8:30am and this guy is Opening Up I find out later his name is Chanel. Really the only reason to go here is because David is a Great Barber!!! But anyway the point! I come back at 9:30am and ask for David like 16 times but this guy Chanel is not too interested in talking about that...anyway I say let me give him a chance he makes me wait 10 minutes to fix his tools when I say this Chanel wasn't even born when I was going to Cintron's then Chatos Then Angel's now the New ownership. Finally I ask the price no response but starts cutting again I ask the price !35 Dollars! Mi Gente this guy is a crook! I was so pissed that I walked out with part of my haircut undone. I mean no where I go they charge more than twenty I am so basic a cut n the hood what's"s good. Chanel is A Crook! My Jersey People stay away from here business men too if you attend a School around here too..I am Alumni here St. Peter's and Rutgers Any NJ College or out of state and any Brothers out there stay away from here..any Crew!
