Very average stay for the price Let me start off by saying there are TWO Solmar resorts that are right next to each other. Solmar and Grand Solmar. When booking online, the distinction is not very clear. I picked this resort for the "all inclusive" and went in October 2023. My mom and I stayed in a one bedroom for my birthday and I was very disappointed. The TV in our room kept breaking and we didn't have a large view of the ocean. It was also a decent walk from our room to the main pool/jacuzzi/restaurant. Please note that if you are vegan/vegetarian, your food options are VERY limited. There's only 1 main restaurant and then two small restaurants on site included in the "all inclusive". The Grand Solmar has a TON more food options and nicer pool areas (which is where I thought I was booking). I tried to get a bean burrito one evening and they weren't able to accommodate because it wasn't on the menu? Very strange. They only had meat options. The next day, I was able to get vegetarian food and it was really delicious. Options still super limited for all inclusive. The alcohol is very weak. Each drink gave me a slight headache and was loaded with sugar. The swim up bar was really cold and it was not worth the swim for the mediocre drinks. The service is outstanding. All employees were extremely friendly and spoke English and Spanish. However, I did end up spending a few hundreds on tips alone. Also **YOU CANNOT SWIM IN THE OCEAN** in front of the resort. You will get crushed the massive waves and be sucked out to sea. Apparently it happens often and happened to a young female traveler the week before we got there. It's approx 1 hr from the airport. I suggest purchasing your own transport (my recommendation is Cabo lindo transport) to and from the airport. It's expensive, but cheaper than what the resort has to offer. Overall, I wouldn't recommend the regular Solmar resort. It's about 15-20 min walk from the harbor and perhaps a 45 min walk to medando beach (which is extremely busy and a place for party people- not relaxing at all). Id recommend family and friends to stay somewhere else completely. I have a hard time saying I would even recommend the Grand Solmar since the location of the resort kind of sucked.

I researched a good location for a relaxing stay with delicious food and nice service. Solmar Hotel is an hour from the airport, and they offer a shuttle service for $48 per person going the hotel and coming back to the airport. I wanted a relaxing place to swim in the ocean, but unfortunately, the massive tides at Solmar make ocean swimming impossible. One evening, we swam at 7 pm and bought drinks, and despite the pool being closed, they let us stay because we had drinks. The swimming towels should be in your room, but we just asked for them at the pool with no problem. For food, they offer breakfast, but you'll get most of your meals from the Tejaban restaurant. We tried the pizza, which was good, but the sushi is only available until 7 pm. The food is pricey but delicious. Our room was on the 3rd floor and very spacious. It had a bedroom with a balcony and bathroom, and a living room with a balcony and bathroom. The room was equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, utensils, sink, hair dryer, and iron. I loved the shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and soap. Unfortunately, one of the towels had a tiny bloodstain, which was unpleasant. A good hotel should provide good service, which is why we pay to stay there. The massage service is available until 4:30 pm, but we didn't try it because it was too early and expensive. If you want to buy souvenirs, it's a 10-15 minute walk. Remember to wear a hat, sunscreen, and bring a fan because it gets hot in the summer! They offer many activities, but we booked ours elsewhere. Despite some downsides, we had a good time at Solmar Hotel.

The Solmar Resort is a beautiful resort located right along the beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. They have options for all-inclusive drinks and dining, multiple pools, multiple restaurants, and even a swim up bar. They are about a 45 minute drive from the airport there, but you can arrange for a driver service ahead of time that will pick you up from the airport and drive you directly to the resort. When we were checking in, we had a party of 5 that was supposed to be booked across 2 rooms. However, since they were pretty full in terms of the small rooms, they offered to combine our two rooms to a suite for free. This was amazing as we ended up having a huge beautiful room on the top floor with a large patio, and we could all stay together which was superb. The beach is beautiful to walk along, unfortunately the riptides are dangerous so there is absolutely no swimming permitted. However, if you would like to swim you can check out one of the pools or hang out in the hot tub. The staff is very friendly and they even have an event Programmer named Jorge who is super cool and sets up a lot of great fun events for everyone. While we were there, we got to experience a Mexican fiesta with traditional singers, dancers, and a buffet, as well as a fantastic Super Bowl Party with all the American classics. It definitely makes sense to do all inclusive if you are going to be staying there during the day since the non-inclusive prices looked insanely high, plus all-inclusive let's you drink as much as you want, and there drinks are delicious. They have the best Piña Coladas! And I got to try a whole bunch of fun drinks I've never had before like Dirty Monkeys and Miami Vices. The staff are all super cool and love to make jokes with you and try to make you relax and drink more. Sometimes the service can be a little slow, but the whole atmosphere is so relaxing that you don't really mind. It should be noted that you should bring a bunch of small cash tips. The waiters love when you give them just a couple bucks each time. This was by far the most relaxing trip I've ever had, and I think we all loved it so much we are planning to make this an annual thing.

Pool the quieter one

Beautiful place. Loved chitchatting with the staff and locals. Loved Luis's exercise classes. He's amazing and so knowledgeable and fun! Great walks on the beach. Walked everyday to the marina and downtown. Bought some great gifts too.

A solid 3.5 stars for Solmar, but I felt as if 4 stars would not reflect this review accurately, so 3 it is. The all-inclusive package is essentially double the price in comparison to the regular rate, and is the smarter option. Without the all-inclusive package, the meals at this resort would already cost more than the stay. The main restaurant, Trebejan, is pretty overpriced, so I am happy that my friend and I did the all-inclusive package. It is not the most amazing food, but it was still good, and it being free made it all that much better. The service was hit or miss. Though the people were very nice, they were not attentive whatsoever. We would rarely get checked up on, even when it was not during "peak" hours. The alcoholic beverages were not alcoholic at all. They were very watered down, so you either have to ask for shots and pour them in, or just ask for it to be made stronger. They were very sugary, especially the mojitos... Oh, those mojitos. There was also a snack bar and a sushi hut, which we did not get a chance to visit. For some reason I was not too fond of having sushi here because I very much love sushi and Japanese food, so I was afraid it was not going to suffice. My favorite part of this resort was the pool, the pool area and the pool bar. The water was very warm and there were gorgeous cabanas in the area. The pool bar was so fun because the seats were in the water, so you're halfway in the pool while seated and drinking (watered down) drinks. The rooms were on the older side, which is understandable because Solmar is one of the first resorts that was built (so I've heard). I really enjoyed how when I opened the sliding door of my room, though, I could basically walk to the pool. The WiFi was not great at all, and it took a while for the water to get hot. The bed and pillows were very comfy. The television probably has less than 15 channels, all outdated or in Spanish. Another positive about this resort was the people. The front desk staff was always nice and so helpful. There was a gentleman in particular (I do not remember his name) who was working most days of our stay, and very sincere. The Grand Solmar is right next door, and such a tease because it's beautiful with amazing amenities, but Solmar guests are not able to utilize them. Though we are able to go to the sister resort, the Playa Grande (I believe it's called), and use their pool and gym. There is a free bus that is able to take you, but the food is not included in the all-inclusive package. There were a lot of positives and negatives. The resort was not too far from the Marina (downtown), but it felt as if the drive (from the airport) took forever. It is very far from civilization (kidding). Take all of this into consideration, but it is also on the more affordable sides when looking at all-inclusive packages. Regardless, I enjoyed my stay because I was not at the resort too much of my time in Cabo.

Solmar Resort is Absolutely AMAZING my husband and I stayed here on our honey moon and I am glad we did. Food was DELICIOUS so were drinks and we got a great deal on Groupon for the all inclusive package which allowed us to stay at an ocean view room. My husband and I loved it so much we want to return for our anniversary. There are some things to know: Transportation from the airport is about 17$ per person which wasn't bad. DO NOT buy any incursions through the airport. We did and wish we had not spend 20$ for an Arc cruise and it was not worth it. If you have to get close to the Arc do water taxi a lot cheaper and they bring you close. They have tequila tasting EVERYWHERE we went downtown and got drunk before we were even able to make it to the beach. Solmar does not have a swimmable beach so you need to go further down to get in the water I recommend!!

Great staff!!

Shout out to all of the great staff at Solmar Resort!! Alfredo, Arturo, Alexis (1 and 2), Eric, Ariel and I could go on! Everyone was so friendly and always was there for us. The food was great and so we're the views. We can't wait to come back. On October 30th the resort had a Mexican Fiesta, which had a delicious buffet and wonderful dancers and singers. I recommend getting the all inclusive for drinks and food by the pool and in the restaurants.

It's windy this time of year, highs in the lower 70s. Just arrived at Solmar resort in Cabo San Lucas. The front desk staff was nice and responsive. We got the all-inclusive package. No hype, no pressure, checkin was first rate. Escorted walk to room shows that the property is beautiful and for the most part seems well maintained. The beach is beautiful with picturesque waves. Those big beautiful waves are so big that swimming is an absolute non-starter, you're just gonna die if you try. The room is clean but dated. It's not bad really, just 70s-ish style. The A/C unit is gawd-awful loud. The bathroom is, well, different (see the photos). Hard to describe what was actually the concept but I don't think they achieved it. The hair dryer is not connected to the power supply in accordance to anyone's electrical code, even for Mexico. (See the picture) Yep, it likely a fire hazard. On the very positive side; the hot water is hot and plentiful and the water pressure is extreme! Dresser, closets and such are adequate. This room comes with a kitchenette and large fridge, pots/pans and everything you need to cook meals. Again, the decor is 70s. The bed is extremely comfortable and well made. This time of year it's a little chilly at night so that really loud A/C can be shut down. The staff is attentive but a little slow in response to requests. Breakfast was good, presentation was really good. Service was attentive and again maybe a little slow. The food is exceptional considering it's all inclusive (see pictures). I've had breakfast, lunch and dinner. Stick with Spanish themed foods, it's pretty good. I'm particular about food safety, eggs should be scrambled. The alcoholic drinks are not loaded, that's good. Nothing like a mid-day drunk to ruin a good evening. The pool area, chairs and lounges are comfy enough and so far, it's not overcrowded. You can get meals by the pool if you wish. This place does seem to qualify as a relaxation haven. No big young adult parties full of delirium drunks celebrating their privilege. The Solmar arranged for COVID tests to get us back to the US. Again, very calm no big production. This place is awesome, the staff is great, the food is great, the view is great, what's there not to like? Just remember, the employees are working their hardest to make your time memorable, so tip generously! This is their livelihood and they've been effected by COVID just like everyone else, show them you care! Separate from the resort we had chance to go to the beach, off property. I love Mexico and all she has but, there is way too much pan handling. Relaxation on the beach is really, nonexistent someone is attempting to sell you something every couple of minutes. Their not easily discouraged so a gentle know gets nowhere. Being rude is not my makeup but...... Boat trip to the arch is a tremendous letdown. Too many people with too many boats ruin the experience. Friends up north need to come down here and see what unregulated capitalism actually looks like. Solmar is great, Cabo is great just lower your expectations when it comes to the dream beach painted by media.

This is my 1st time here and it was well manicured & maintained resort. This is Mexico so keep in mind that you'll be hustled at the front desk to upgrade rooms so don't hesitate to negotiate the prices. I upgraded to a master suite for an extra $30 per night, which started at $50 per night. So hold your ground. Next comes the sales pitch for timeshares. If you decide to attend a breakfast or luncheon sales meeting don't be afraid to ask for some free excursions (fishing trip, free ATV rentals or dinners). Some resorts will actually pay you cash but if they don't offer cash then simply ask if they will pay you to attend. This resort is a quiet resort and great if you want to get away from the party scene. Mostly older couples chilling at pool side. The resort has 3 relatively small pools, one of which, has a swim up bar. Unfortunately the pool water was really cold but it didn't stop me from hanging out in it. The food was good but nothing to rave about . There is one main restaurant and two cafe style grills located throughout the property. Things to know. This resort is NOT solely all inclusive. Those who want to stay here have the option to purchase an all inclusive package or a traditional pay to stay. For this reason one must read the fine print regarding the "All Inclusive" package. Certain services are NOT included in the All Inclusive but are offered at a "Discount " rate. See below for a few of the discounted items that are usually included at A.I. Resorts but are NOT included at Solmar Resort: 25% Off Daily Specials 25% Off on Lobster 25% Off Room Service (if they deem that your room requires extra cleaning) 25% Off Premium Bar I wouldn't recommend using the resorts shuttle service (green vans) because they are old and in poor condition. The resort charges $21 per person for the shuttle service but a private taxi van will charge only $20 per person and most are new vehicles. I used the resorts shuttle service and paid $21 per person for the shuttle to take us to the airport. Our van overheated and had to pull over on the road to the airport. We eventually got back on the road after the driver added some water into the radiator. Overall it was a good experience at this resort but it was nothing special. I don't see myself returning.

Challenging golf course for sure. Brand new golf carts as well. Unfortunately my cart died on the back nine and had to walk the rest of the course.

Check-In Experience As soon as we stepped out of the car, multiple staff members greeted us warmly. One offered welcome drinks, another handled our luggage, and we were introduced to our private butler. The butler took my phone number and let me know I could text anytime for assistance. Another staff member completed our check-in -- we never had to visit the front desk. We simply handed over our passports and credit card, and everything was taken care of. Room & Upgrade As Hilton Diamond members, we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to 2 Bedroom Resort Casita with Plunge Pool without even asking. ‍ All rooms in this hotel have its own private pool. While the view wasn't the best (we could see the family pool rather than a clear ocean view), the villa itself was huge and very comfortable. Full kitchen, washer, and dryer made the stay extremely convenient. Even the bathroom tissues were scented -- a small but thoughtful detail! Things to Improve * Slippers were not very comfortable * Pillows were very soft -- great if you like soft pillows, but if you prefer firmer/high pillows, you may need to request extras * Didn't see cotton pads or cotton swabs in the room (probably available upon request) * Wi-Fi connection was unstable at times Overall Despite a few small drawbacks, the service, upgrade, and villa experience made this stay very memorable. The personalized check-in and Diamond recognition truly stood out.

Colima restaurant is where we had breakfast : omelette station, great assortment of yogurts, fruit cups, smoked salmon, pancakes, eggs that are scrambled or poached (besides the omelette station) bacon and sausages... Mimosa at the table, orange and green juice at the buffet area; there is a full bar at Colima should you want something more. We heard nothing but raving reviews from our guests about the rooms and cleanliness of the entire resort. I already had family and friends asking when we can come back for our anniversaries lol. Now for our wedding: The planning through Casa Dorada's wedding coordinator, Katherine Anaya, was seamless and so easy. I can't express enough how amazing she was to handle everything for my husband and I since we are from California. The location of the resort is perfectly on the beach with nearby bars and restaurants. Yes you can hear the music from the bars but it stops at 9:30/10pm. Didn't hear any complaints from any of ours guests (ages 25-83). The wedding ceremony and reception was at the 12 Tribes Terrace and they really transformed the atmosphere to be exactly how I envisioned the wedding! If you're hesitant about doing a destination wedding in Cabo, I researched about 20 resorts and landed on Casa Dorada because of the value, location and how beautiful the resort looks. We are so happy with how our wedding came out and how amazing the staff is at this resort. We want to highlight our amazing wedding planner (through the resort) Katherine Anaya who handled everything for us and made sure the whole wedding experience was stress free and seamless for us. Her first impression through email with me truly made me feel her hospitality and kindness. Meeting her in person for our pre-wedding trip January 2026 just solidified that we have an amazing person helping create our wedding vision and bring it to life! She even went as far as having a custom wedding slideshow playing in our hotel room that had our pictures from our wedding website. The attention to detail Katherine gives is beyond what I could've ever imagined from anyone! Another person I want to mention was Rene at the 12 Tribes Restaurant. We met him during our pre-wedding trip and he handled everything with ease for our signature His/Her drinks and our food tasting samples. Right away his great hospitality and kind spirit could immediately be seen and felt. For our wedding in April 2026, Rene remembered us and gave nothing short of excellent service during our entire wedding week when we saw him or ate at the 12 Tribes restaurant. Rene was actually a server during our wedding and was making sure everything was going smoothly and made sure we felt at home. Two more people who are worth mentioning: Heriberto at the swim-up bar and Michele at the B Bar. Two awesome people who love what they do. They remembered us each time we came back to them. They remembered our drink orders and truly made us feel like family there. If you're thinking about a wedding at Casa Dorada, my advice to you is do it and you won't regret it. It truly felt like our home away from home. Muchas gracias Casa Dorada!!! We will definitely be back! This isn't goodbye, but see you soon!!

I said, "Because he was coming after me, and that's what women do, so we don't aggravate men we know are dangerous." He said, "Well, his girlfriend didn't report anything." Again, I said: "Women don't report abusers because they are not believed, just like you are not believing me." Escuer also screamed at me and accused me of recording our conversation. He made physical gestures toward me during this. I told him I needed the tape, his information and the hotel's information. He refused to give me anything and yelled at me. I had to check out, pay for that stay, and another hotel. Escuer/the hotel are not safe for women.

The location is convenient, with a supermarket directly across the street. The property was nice and clean--perfect for a relaxing getaway that truly felt like a home away from home. The room had all the main kitchen necessities and more. We started in a garden-view room, and midweek we were able to upgrade to an ocean-view room, which was absolutely spectacular. Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean waves was incredibly calming. The resort also offers beach access, and guests can borrow beach chairs and other items to relax by the water. There are several pools on-site, including a swim-up bar, and they often have live music in the evenings, which added to the atmosphere. The only downside was the on-site restaurant--the food was mediocre, so we preferred cooking in the room or going out to eat. There is a BBQ area available for guests, which was a nice option. I would definitely come back, though I'm not a fan of being approached by timeshare representatives.

Sirena Del Mar has become a wonderful family tradition. Such a beautiful place to relax and enjoy…read morethe views and everything Cabo has to offer. Love the friendly staff, especially activities director Jesus, who even remembered my daughter's name from a year ago! Bartenders and servers are all great, too. This year we were in a large one bedroom "garden view" villa in Building 1 (1104A) - which actually had a view of the pool and ocean. It was on the 1st floor, right next to the small pool, and just steps down to the ping pong table, which was certainly convenient, but not very private, and during theme nights, like the Mexican dancing, it was really loud to hear them pounding their feet on the wooden stage, but it was fine overall. Still love the activities - Aqua bingo, movie trivia, ping pong tournament. This year we rented a car, which we made use of almost every day for grocery runs, hikes and day trips. Planned to go to La Paz to swim with the whale sharks, but the dock was closed due to high winds, so we drove up to Todos Santos - our daughter went on a hike/run on the beautiful Cerro Punta Lobos trail, and we walked the peaceful beach near the boutique Hotel San Cristobal, then shopping, matcha lattes and taco stand in Todos Santos (couldn't get a last-minute reservation at Jazamango). Then on New Year's Eve, we did the Forcado 5K by the San Jose del Cabo Marina, and my older daughter came in 1st place of all the women! Hoping they do this again next year. Food and drinks are fresh and tasty - liked the eggs benedict, and nachos are always great. Favorite drinks are still the margaritas (traditional, mango and guava) and mojitos (with whatever berries are fresh). Did the timeshare presentation for some resort credit, and it was fine -- not too informative, not always accurate, but not too high pressure. Already booked our room for next year, and looking forward to it!

The only thing is I would love for them to get better spirits, and cocktail menu as well as the food could use a hand in authenticity. I hate when chains don't allow the local staff to prepare food authentically.

Great los cabos location on the marina near and walking distance too all the local Bars restaurants and small clubs not far from the Famous Cabo Wabo, check in was easy. The place layout is akard you have go too several elevators and stairs to get from the rooms to the the larger pool and some of the restaurant's. all was good until i requested some amenities to surprise my wife on her Birthday while we went on an excursion,i spoke with front desk and another associate from the planning events desk, when we returned nothing was done i was sadly disappointed because nothing was done they give several excuses. the the lead event coordinator give me a dinner upgrade it was appreciated but memories will never be recovered. Last i was convince on attending a so call presentation for hyatt hotel benefits actually its a time share pressure presentation,we declined because it was very expensive when i was trying to return to my room when a women approached us presenting us with a so call Hayat certicate a 5 day four night stay and airport transportation included for $1669.00 all i had to do was call a 800 number and reserve before 90 days? soon as returned i called the number from UNLIMTED CLUB VACATION and they said everything the associate told me was incorrect that i would have to attend another timeshare presentation or had to pay more money if I wanted to return on this so called certricate?and my $1669 is Now non refundable and I am out of luck , I have called the HOTEL but they have not replied or help me like they said they would , so I here figuring ways to get my refund.

Sky Pool Review Only…read more I've never stayed at Sunset but use it's amenities since I'm either at Pacifica or Rose. The sky pool here is one of my favorite places to visit, the vibes are immaculate and the views are stunning. Windy enough usually to keep you cool but still feel warm. But I really want to shout out Manuel the bartender at the swim up bar, guy is friendly as hell and so efficient at his job, took care of my group of 8 all day with no problems, thank you for the service Manuel!

First time in Cabo and my friend and I stayed at this resort for a wedding. It's a huge, gorgeous…read moreproperty. PROS: - I think the biggest pro is that you get access to their sister properties and can use their amenities and eat at their restaurants as part of your all-inclusive package. They have free shuttles that go between each resort. So you're kinda getting access to multiple resorts for the price of one. - $30 shuttle per person one way to go to/from the airport. (Compared to the $130 private taxi) Pickup from the airport was super easy. Limited times to go to the airport from the resort. - huge property with many pools and different restaurant options to check out - all the workers are so helpful and friendly if you ever need anything - they have a place called The Afters if you're looking for a fun late night club/bar vibe to dance and drink with friends. It's probably the only kind of bar like this in any of their sister restaurants - Great drinks everywhere CONS: - Not a super walkable resort. Lots of hills. You have to rely on golf carts to get around. They usually come by quick but sometimes can take a while if it's busy. - the resort is a bit secluded and far from everything. 20min drive to the downtown area. Shuttle to go to the Rose resort comes once every hour and ends at 10pm. (Rose is right next to downtown) - I believe if you're in an Uber, they can drop you off inside the resort. But for security reasons, you cannot be picked up by an uber at the resort. You can only get picked up by a shuttle or private taxi - Can't go in the water at the beach because the waves are dangerous - Food is only okay. Seafood was really disappointing. Raw fish such as ceviche or sushi were really fishy tasting. - Food at many of the restaurants take a while to come out. Plan accordingly - Some simple items have an up charge, such as tea or fruit juices at The Market. - Some people are so strict as to how much food/drinks you can get per room. My friend was in a room himself and tried to get 2 drinks and a water and they wouldn't give him water because he maxed out at two drinks...
