This is a BIG and BEAUTIFUL sprawling church and grounds!…read more The church is modern with ample seating and has clearly marked restrooms and a big nursery, upon entering. We went to the church's "Living Nativity" on Sun., Dec. 17, 2017, per a reccommendation from my co-worker. Plus the event was on my Facebook scroll. The event was very well organized by such nice people (parishioners). They all kept things moving, without being bossy. You basically check in (the event is free!) and then get a ticket w letter(s) on them. You then go into the sanctuary, watch an overview of the program and the opening 'Adam and Eve' act in a sweet short play scene with great backdrops. The young actors were no kidding, really GOOD! After that, you wait for your ticket letters to be shown on the movie screen then proceed to the lobby for further instruction. In the lobby, is a volunteer holding up your ticket letter(s). Listen up! Since the event brings sooo many people (I heard one parishioner say that they had 2,300 people the night prior!!!!), it takes a while to go to each station (95% of them are outside). But each station is only about 5 minutes max. Plan to dress warmly and spend about 1 1/2 hours total. Free hot chocolate and cookies when you are finished. Such a wonderful and sweet event (yes, I teared up a few times) to further get you into the miracle of Christ plus magic and beauty of the holiday season!

I love this church, it's so large and such awesome people. they have many activates and groups,…read morelike youth group, VBS, Sunday school, Soccer camp and more. You should totally cheaply it out!

Eight years ago the Pastor reached out to me on Yelp to say they had a new location. So I went to…read morecheck it out as I was still church hopping and also, have you ever felt guilty for giving a church a 3 star review?! This new space at Philadelphia Film Center is actually pretty great. The lead Pastor continues to deliver relevant and biblically sound messages that are often wonderfully challenging (cry much?). And the worship team is filled with powerful voices. What's by far very interesting about this space of faith is the racial diversity. It is not mainly a sea of salt with a few sprinkles of black pepper, but a truly spicy rub mix, which you'd think would be more common in Philly-- but it's really not! And while the church definitely caters to the enthusiastic and passionate college students, there is an effort to create a supportive space for families. This is where I know there is room for growth-- if this is something you're really looking for, their South Jersey campus may scratch your itch. Pro Tips: 1. Free parking is offered at The Shops at Liberty Place-- a walkable distance which has allowed me to develop a very amicable relationship with the local Dunkin Donuts staff ; shoutout to their daughter who tirelessly works there as she studies at Temple. 2. If you're bringing your baby in your lap to the service bring some baby-sized earmuffs or check them into the nursery because many times it'll be like David (2 Samuel Chap 6) shouting praises for the first 20 minutes. And while your baby's cry may not be heard, it'll probably wreck your vibe. 3. If you tend to roll late wherever you go (raises hand guiltily) come to the first or third service where seats are more likely to be comfortably found. Come all ye faithful but especially all ye weary. You will be found.

I'm here in Philly for couple months and needed a contemporary church Sunday service. I was worried…read moreabout the parking situation because the location is in the heart of downtown Philly... the streets are busy, crowded, dense. Fortunately: Street parking is not impossible but also not free. The church gives out parking voucher at Liberty Parking Garage -- for free! The service was great, the people/community is diverse, welcoming, and amazing!

This church is a Bible-based church located in Medford, NJ. Located in an area of south jersey…read morewhere there are a few major churches around Lakes is not a very large congregation. It is however a strong, loving congregation. Members are quick to notice visitors and introduce themselves to try and make them feel more at home, and simply get to know them more. Pastor Joe has been there for, I think, 13 years or so now. This church places a big emphasis on Discipleship, which I think is great because I could always grow in my knowledge and application of how to better spread God's Word. I've been attending Lakes my whole life as my parents have been going there since they were kids, and my fathers parents were charter members. Lakes youth ministry meets on Sunday's at 6, and will often times incorporate outreach ministries like going to Faces of Change in Camden, NJ, to help hand out food, drink, and clothes to homeless or less fortunate. Along with our few discipleship groups, a young couple started Shine Ministries which is an outreach program to give back as they often times will hand out food in Camden, spend time with children at the Ronald McDonald House, technologically educate men and women in retirement homes, and many others great ways to give back and show Christ's love. I've had nothing but great experiences at Lakes. If you're looking for a church where you can go and slip through the cracks, this may not be for you. If you're looking for a church where you want to feel welcome and be involved, with good, strong biblical teaching, then this church might be for you! Stop on by and check us out!
