Choosing Samantha Rice Photography was truly one of the best decisions we made for our wedding…read more From the very beginning, we knew Sam was exactly what we were looking for! Her work is timeless, elegant, and classic--exactly the style we envisioned for our wedding photos. One thing that stood out to us immediately was Sam's gift for capturing the small, in-between moments. You can tell she is genuinely passionate about photography, storytelling, and the people she works with. From our very first inquiry, she was so excited about our day. Her communication was exceptional. Leading up to the wedding, she was always open to discussing logistics, timelines, shot lists, and locations. She gave amazing insight on the schedule and photo planning, and we fully trusted her expertise. When planning our engagement session--which we had to reschedule due to rain and our crazy schedules--she worked so hard to accommodate us. Even when it started sprinkling during the shoot, she improvised and created beautiful moments on the spot. As we planned our wedding day timeline, Sam offered suggestions that truly made our day flow better and helped us get the best photos possible. She made us feel like our wedding was a priority and always made time for us. Any question we had--big or small--she answered promptly and kindly. On our wedding day, Sam was the calm but strong presence we didn't know we needed. She confidently led the day, kept us on track, and knew exactly where to go and what to do. We never felt stressed or unsure--Sam had everything under control. Our families and bridal party were amazed by how professional, organized, and friendly she and her team were. Traveling around the city with a large bridal party can get chaotic, but Sam handled it with complete ease. Our wedding photos are an absolute dream--better than anything we ever imagined! They capture the emotion, joy, beauty, and details of our day so perfectly that we feel transported right back into those moments every time we look at them. I have spent hours scrolling through them again and again because I simply can't stop! We've had so many guests tell us our photos look like they belong in a magazine. We were interested in taking late-night photos at the bar in our venue (since we were indoors and the city blocked golden hour), and Sam was instantly excited and on board. She always listened to our ideas and visions and did everything she could to make them happen. We received a sneak peek the very next day--which made us swoon--and our full gallery in less than two months, far sooner than expected. Throughout editing, Sam checked in with updates, which we appreciated so much. From meeting Sam to saying goodnight at the end of our reception, working with her was an incredible experience from start to finish. Choosing Samantha Rice Photography was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. We could not recommend her more. Thank you, Sam, for giving us photos we will cherish forever!!!

If only I could leave "0" stars…read more.. Do NOT under any circumstances use this photographer. All you will receive is lies. I am one to give so much "benefit of the doubt" that it cost me the opportunity to have professional wedding pictures. All of what you will read is fact and not exaggerated in any way. We hired Leah Jankowski of "Leah Marie Photography" in Linden/Argentine/Durand, MI as our photographer and not only did she get so intoxicated that she had to be driven home by the reception staff, but she fed us numerous lies and refused to provide any prints or electronic record of our photos. She continued to tell us she was working on the prints for weeks and told us a few times that they were ready for pick up, but broke the plans to meet last minute. About one month after the ceremony, she finally told me that the sd card was fried and that she was unable to recover any images. She stated that she was taking the card to a few friends in the Mott College photography department to attempt data recovery before pursuing a professional data recovery service, which she never took it to a professional as promised. Ultimately, we had to contact a lawyer and nearly file a lawsuit to get our deposit refunded. During our legal battle, she told the lawyer that she disposed of the memory card 2 weeks after the wedding (which clearly does not match the text message records I have of what she said to me). There are several other small details that I could include, but this is long enough as it is. The reason I am posting this here is because I attempted to post a negative review on her facebook page and she deleted that, blocked my husband and I, and possibly deleted the facebook page completely. I am also posting this here as a warning if you or your friends are considering using her, but also because she can't possibly silence the truth this way. Lesson 1: ALWAYS check references. Lesson 2: Follow your instincts.

My list of people who need to stay sober at a wedding is super short: Preacher and Photographer…read more While photographing my cousins wedding, Leah from http://leahmariephotography.carbonmade.com, snuck wine and numerous other alcoholic beverages. The first indication that she needed to be cut off was when we were posing for a "cousin" picture and she made my dad come be in the picture because we had an "odd number of cousins" and she kept saying she needed an even number of people on both sides of the Bride & Groom. During dinner I saw her stumbling along, holding up a crooked camera in peoples faces before sloshing onto the dance floor. Not long after that she dropped a wine glass on the dance floor and started picking it up with her bare hands, at which point she was escorted from the venue by venue staff. We later come to find out that she had absolutely no photos of my cousins beautiful wedding. I hope she gets help for herself, but Yelp is not the place for that kind of sentiment. Save yourselves from every Bride & Grooms worst nightmare and hire a real professional, not this boozing drop out.
