Overall, our experience and cruise were very positive. Embarkation was much slower than our last two cruises and we arrived at 10:30 a.m. when embarkation was supposed to begin. Our stateroom (inside with promenade view) was very clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable. The toilet would not flush one day when we returned from a shore excursion and the issue was quickly addressed by the maintenance staff. The vast majority of the staff members were very pleasant and helpful. The other guests at our main dining room table were very pleasant and friendly; we had a great time talking and getting to know each other during our cruise. Our dining room waiter, Medel, and assistant waiter, Volodymyr, were outstanding -- very friendly and helpful. Our stateroom attendant, Nunun, was very good. While the food was still very good, I felt it was a little better in the dining room on our previous cruises. We purchased the same Internet package as we had on Harmony (VOOM Surf Voyage Package - 3 Devices), the service was not as reliable. I talked with the Internet represent on our third and fourth days because we experienced sporadic problems with access, being "kicked out", and having a screen appear which said we needed to sign in to connect when another screen clearly indicated we were already signed in. He made several changes and the reliability improved, but we still experienced some issues during the remainder of our cruise. We experienced no similar issues on Harmony. Very good variety of activities were offered on-board. We enjoyed our shore excursions, especially the Tuscan Countryside - San Gimignano and Volterra. Unless you wanted your time to be spent shopping and eating, I would not recommend the Cassis (Extended Time) excursion in Marseilles. Our tour guides were informative. We would have liked more time in Lisbon, Portugal and Vigo, Spain. Excursions Gibraltar - City and Wine Tour (8 rating out of 10) Alicante - Guadalest (9) Rome - Glories of the Gladiators (8) The drive from Civitavecchia to Rome is about 1-1/2 hours. The host on the bus was pleasant and somewhat informative, but I have experienced better, more informative, ones on previous stops in Rome. The actual tour guide once we were in Rome was very informative and responsive. The tour of the Colosseum was very good. The tour of the Roman Forum was somewhat quick and not as informative as I experienced on a previous tour. The walk in warm weather from the Forum to Piazza Navonna was tiring. The free time at the Piazza was great as we were able to have lunch, then walk to Trevi Foundation, see the Pantheon and then back to spend a little time exploring the Piazza. Livorgno - Tuscan Countryside - San Gimignano & Volterra (10) We thoroughly enjoyed this excursion. We walked to an alabaster shop and saw a brief demonstration. We then had time to explore the nearby stores and areas. Then we went to San Gimignano and stopped at Tenuta Torciano for a wonderful meal and wine tasting. Although a little long, the drive was beautiful. Marseilles - Cassis (Extended Time) (7) The guide was fairly informative on the drive from Marseille to Cassis. Once in Cassis, she walked us down to the village/town where we were left to explore on our own, have lunch and or shop -- no tour of any places of interest. I would not take this tour again unless I was just looking for a shopping experience. Barcelona - Gaudi's Barcelona (8) Our guide was informative. Having seen La Sagrada Familia (exterior and interior) 12 years ago and the exterior only 2 years ago), we were excited to see the finished interior. We were not disappointed. Very beautiful and impressive. The remainder of the tour was very good. Lisbon - Majestic Sceneries & Wines (8) Very informative guide and beautiful drive. Very informative and interesting tour of a facility where tiles are still made by hand, with time to look at and buy tiles. Although we enjoyed the tour, including the winery grounds, we were disappointed that only two wines were poured for tasting. Vigo - The Border Country (8) Very informative guide. Wonderful drive to Valenca do Minho. Only wished we had had more time in this port. Cabin review: Our stateroom was very clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable, but did have a slight depression in the mattress. It was not enough to impact our sleeping, but still apparent. The closet included adequate hangers for our needs, several shelves and space to store 2 suitcases; we placed our third suitcase on one of the couches. A safe was provided on one of the shelves in the closet. The room included a small vanity-type desk with mirrors and good lighting, and a chair. That would count for little of course if the food did not match the setting. It did not disappoint. We had lamb korma, chicken jalfrezi, rogan josh, mushroom rice and of course naan. The portions are generous and we intentionally order enough to take some home with us. It was that good. The price is very reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food. I have to say that we were totally disgusted with the service, attitude of staff and on some items…read moreridiculous high cost. The staff closed the toilets and left it as disabled only where you have to ask for the key. Considering we had three children, one who is autistic and has an issue with toilets, having to ask for the key every time was ridiculous. I know also that it was only because it meant they did not have to clean them later. This also then took away the reason for having a separate toilet for disabled only. If you were in a wheelchair you would have to wait for all the families to finish!! Considering the fact there were many staff doing very little it seemed the height of laziness to us as a family. We also were told that we could not have toast for one of the children, even though we asked specially as he had it his mind he was having toast and he could have marmite. The way he works he saw marmite expected toast but could not have any.... To him he did not understand. Not exactly helping in the family friendly department!!! What family restaurant can't do toast! Plus I was told by a man whilst on his way passed me. Not even "I'm sorry we are not able " or anything just "No we don't, no toast!" Then one of the children wanted a yoghurt. A tiny fromage frais you can buy anywhere, £1.25, outrageous cost, that is where it is seriously silly. Cakes and coffees you can just about understand silly prices, but that took the biscuit. Then the cheek, total disregard for the customers and seriously disrespectful attitude was apparent when the staff started putting chairs up on tables around people still drinking and eating. We felt such a need to rush out (even though they did not close their doors to customers for another 38 minutes). Service, treatment and facilities not acceptable in our mind. I won't visit again in any hurry unless its under new management. The staff need some customer service training, and also general work training. You don't just all stand in a line by the till talking when people enter. You don't try to then appear to be totally disinterested in your customers. A little smile and helpfulness goes along way. Especially when your only customers at that point are families. £60 plus was spent on just a couple of sandwiches, drinks, cakes and children's fish fingers. Ashamed is what they should be, You never know who you're serving... Golden rule of customer service...Always treat every customer as an important one no matter who they are and even if you deem them as not!!

Went to get dinner. Told they had just seated a table of 14 and there would be a very long wait could i order at the bar. Get to the bar to be told starters pizza pasta or salads only. Order chick wings which came with crudites but dirty celery. Report going into environmental health on Monday. Breakfast not available till 8 am. Bacon cold. Hash browns cold everything else barely warm. Again report going into food safety agency on Monday. Avoid the food on site. Decor dated and worn out carpets. In short. A nasty place to stay. Also left on the corridor was a breakfast tray which has jam marmalade etc. on it which also led me to believe the detritus had been on the corridor for some time Risk - Older guests who could not see the glasses due to poor eye sight could have slipped tripped and fell and had severe lacerations Issue 2 - Evening meal served with dirt on it I went past the bar glasses and dirty dishes and went to the restaurant to be told that they had "just seated 14 guests" and there would be significant delay in serving food I would be best to go to the bar and order there - I did to be told only starters, pizza and pasta available. I order chicken wings with crudités and a mixed meat pizza. The chicken wings arrived but the crudités still had dirt on the celery see photo attached. Risk unwashed / uncleaned salad could infect someone with bad food poisoning Issue 3 - Cold / not well reheated food - meat items breakfast I had paid for breakfast the night before and went down to eat - waited 30 mins for the restaurant to open - 730 am - 8 am. Then helped myself to the breakfast buffet - the bacon served was cold the bacon was folded over the thin bit of the rasher underneath as if it had come out of the fridge and not been warmed through but left under the warming lights , the hash brown potatoes cold, the sausages luke warm, the beans, eggs, mushrooms also luke warm - I think this is contrary to food safety in the UK as all meat should reheated to a specific temperature 75 degrees Celsius? before served? Risk - under heated food could also lead to food poisoning from bacteria.
