Ever since Ms. Luna became the new principal a lot of good changes have happened. She truly has made a difference. From creating the valet car for dropping off students in the mornings to having the after school program STEM where they create robots and compete against other schools. This motivates students to be involve in activities. If parents don't have the time to take them, they manage somehow to find the time to take them. I appreciate the effort! As far as teachers they're all have been great teachers! Just to mention a few Ms. Rodriguez, Ms. Castillo, Ms. Torres, Ms. Rosas, and Ms. Reedy. They've done a great job in teaching my daughters. Good amount of homework given. Field trips have been great. My daughters have been happy so far. Office staff, not the greatest but they try their best! I believe they can be better and more organized. I understand it can be insane speaking to over 50 parents a day just with 2 staff members. The school nurse is on point. Always calling me with any issues when my daughters go to the nurse's office.

Conflicting his written statement to the court that the other parent didn't come inside the school and wasn't being disruptive. I was going through false accusations from other parent & I notified the school about conflicting statement & they said they will stand behind the teacher even though on their paperwork they noted they told him about the court order weeks prior. My son is 5 he was assigned to Ms Kissell. We were very…read moreanxious for him to start public school, unfortunately we had such a bad experience, even after reading the "good" reviews this school had. My son would come home with bruises continuously during his second week at school he would tell us that he fell in the playground and no one came to assist him. One incident he told us that when he fell a kid stepped on his forehead while he was on the ground and again no one helped him. When we would pick him up from school no one mentioned anything to us not the teacher, not the assistant nor the lady by the gate. A simple "Hey your son fell in the playground, we took him to the nurse office he is fine" Something so simple is all I needed. The first 2 days I let it slide until he kept saying that he got another ouchy from the school. After getting fed up I messaged Ms Kissell asking her if she knew about the bruises he was coming home with and she told me that she knew he had the bruises and yet she did not tell me anything. She had told me that my son is responsible to let the adults know. Keep in mind that my son is 5, the recess assistants should be outside doing their job instead of gossiping. I proceeded to post on the Facebook Downey group for advice from other parents. Right away I got someone reporting my post and the next day received a phone call from the principal asking me to take down the post and questioning me if my son is telling the truth. I will always believe my son 100% The school district sadly does not care about your children.

I feel like my wife and I dodged a bad situation bringing our child here. The professionalism is…read moreextremely lacking. If they can't get something as simple as customer service and being professional in order why would I entrust them with my kid? At first we called the Downey location but they said there was a waitlist of 1 year but that the MLK location would have IMMEDIATE enrollment. We didn't mind joining the waitlist for Downey while still enrolling our child at the MLK location. Downey is on the way to where I work and though MLK is a bit out of the at but I would have made it work for the time being until Downey had a spot. Downey location sent me a PDF form that already had another family information all over it-clearly a violation of their privacy as now I had their name, address, child's name and other sensitive information. Emailed Helia back letting her know but received no response. I proceeded to try to call MLK; the phone would ring and ring and then it would disconnect as if someone was denying the call or picking up and hanging up. I then decided to use the texting service that they claim "responds in minutes." Yes, maybe the automated portion responds in minutes but as soon as a live agent takes over it's an extremely long wait. 4:15pm someone tells me to "hold on while I connect you with someone who can help..." 4:26pm I ask "how long should I wait?" 5:30pm didn't have anyone connected so I messaged back "hello." 7:15am the next day someone replies back without even acknowledging the wait. I didn't mention it until the information I received that there would be a waitlist for about 6 months at MLK. What happened to IMMEDIATE enrollment? Then they have the nerve to tell me that using the online chat is the quickest way to get a response, not calling or texting. Why do you have phone numbers listed and text services available if it's a terrible way to communicate with you? What if there's an emergency that I need to pick up my child? Yea, no thanks but this place is a hard pass. They might be affordable compared to other care centers but as the saying goes, "you get what you pay for." TLDR; There is a major disconnect between centers even though they claim to be affiliated. They have no regard for privacy since they blindly send out forms without checking if there is another families information on them. Their customer service is abysmal since they didn't pick up multiple phone calls and left me waiting for more than 12 hours on the text service or respond to emails.
