For a store that is dedicated to cooking and baking, the assortment is limited and lackluster.
I came specifically for brown sugar, which I found, in a 3 kilo bag for about 12 euros. And for this I am happy. I also found a silpat baking mat for about 12 euros as well (makes up for the one I gave away in LA).
As for variety and stuff? hmmm - there was only one bottle of vanilla extract - a 1 liter bottle for 49.99 euros. or you could get a couple of vanilla beans. yep, that's it. and there was only one variety of cocoa powder, available in either a 1kilo or 5 kilo bag.
what you could find were tons of colorings, and certain unusual flavorings. molds to make unusually shaped desserts or chocolates or other bonbons.
cookie sheets? nope
baking pans? beyond a couple of loaf pans, nada.
cooling racks? hah!
but if you're looking for an econo bag of crystalized violets, or cinnamon sticks, or tacky wedding cake toppers, this is your place.
They really don't know how to stock merchandise to inspire. At least I found my brown sugar. read more
