If I could give them a 0 star review, I would. I've been a patient on and off at Diversus Health…read moresince I was 15, I'm now 22. When I was younger, I was bounced between therapists several times, one even claiming she was dropping me off her case load because she "wasn't equipped to deal with my level of trauma." Can you imagine how much that hurt the traumatized 16 year old girl I was? And then there was the breach scandal that turned them from Aspen Pointe into Diversus Health. Hundreds, if not thousands of patients information was stolen and at risk because their digital security was shit. I was on an identity fraud watchlist for a year after the event, provided by Diversus. There's a plethora of other issues. Lack of communication was a big one. The most offensive lack of communication I personally dealt with was when my therapist, who I'd been seeing for four years at that point, suddenly was gone. I was notified by the company less than 24 hours before my next appointment, with no explanation for her sudden departure. I lost the one person I had learned to trust at the drop of a dime without any explanation or closure. I've also had several issues since then. I returned to Diversus earlier this year because I had been told by several professors and close friends they highly suspected I have ADHD, and I figured it was time to try therapy again. I went in, spent 3 hours waiting to do 25 minutes of intake and appointment scheduling, and left. I scheduled an appointment with a psychiatrist to get diagnosed with ADHD finally, and booked my therapist appointment. Both were awful experiences. I don't remember exactly who my psychiatrist's was, but she was an older lady who seemed a little judgy from the get go. I tried telling her about my symptoms, and the way I believed my potential ADHD affected my daily life. My heart dropped when she told me, after asking about my hobbies, "Oh, you like to read? You're probably not ADHD, ADHD people can't read." I shit you not. She said those very words, then tried to backtrack and claim she meant ADHD people didn't tend to like to read because it took a lot of focus and a good attention span, things which ADHD people don't have, according to her. My friends who have been diagnosed since childhood would disagree heavily, many of them have special interests in certain book series. I never booked another appointment with that highly unprofessional and seemingly uneducated woman. My therapist, Dr. Reed, was also highly unprofessional. They treated me like a patient who had never been to therapy, going through what seemed like the same "newbie" checklist I'd been through with countless other therapists. They didn't listen when I told them what I wanted to talk to them about, instead listing off various coping mechanisms that I'd already tried in the past. I told them on multiple occasions I already knew what coping mechanisms worked and what didn't, I just needed to talk. The few times I was able to talk they seemed like they weren't actually listening. And the amount of times they compared their own struggles to mine was absolutely insane. I'd talk about my college struggles because it was my first semester and she'd backfire with something about how she was also struggling. I'd talk about three homework assignments I'd stress about finishing and she'd "brag" that she had 10 to do by the same deadline. It was infuriating and unprofessional. I understand having empathy for others, and usually I'm good at that, but this woman was being paid so I could talk and instead she used that time to belittle my problems next to her own. Overall, I have been disappointed my Diversus Health's repeated faults in their care. From their lack of communication, the unprofessionalism I've seen but all from one of their employees, the long wait times, the lack of care for customer safety, and the way half these people seem like they don't know how to do their jobs is just appalling. If you have ANY other option besides Diversus, please take it. They give zero shits about who you are, what your need are, or anything about you at all.

While I moved to nearby Colorado Springs in August, my first appointment with Manitou was in July (2017). At that point I depended on a cane for walking, but occasionally resorted to a wheelchair. Georgi Gochis applied her cranial sacral and lymphatic drainage skills to getting the lymph moving in my left leg, as well as addressing effects of the accident on my head. Xanthe Alexis assessed the structure in my leg and hip, and determined that certain bones needed to be coaxed into a better position, which she accomplished in short order. Also she advised me on how to walk so the bones would stay in place. Shortly after arrival, I started seeing Joy Williams for medical massage, which has substantially reduced the swelling, essential for Healing. She also relieved aches and pains which migrated into my hips. In conjunction with the physical therapy I was receiving, she also instructed me on how to best stretch so that leg muscles wouldn't cause further aches. Considering that a year ago I was limited to zero weight on my leg and for the most part needed a wheel chair to move about, I am deeply grateful for the recovery accomplished, a significant amount facilitated by the experts at Manitou Wellness.

Your clinic is keeping my daughter there illegally and forcing a lawyer on her when she was under medication. She told me she didn't really understood what the lawyer was saying due to medicine they gave her before the lawyer came. I am not saying this to put blame on your clinic but to the doctors who hasn't answered my phone calls, and to the nurses that are being rude and hang up when I am trying to see how my daughter is doing. They would not let me hang my daughter documents to sign for Power of Attorney when I know for a fact that she understands. They are letting her out tomorrow so I am hoping that they will honor what she was told. The nurses, doctors, and social workers are giving us different stories.

Waited 3 hours past our appointment time to be seen for an IOP intake…read more The intake person was apologetic but blamed the delay on the front desk lady for not communicating properly; throwing your colleague under the bus is unprofessional and reflected poorly on the facility management. We were hungry, tired, and my daughter advised the worker that they didn't feel safe. I was proud of my daughter for identifying that she needed help, but no further clarifying questions were asked of her at that point. We were told she would be on an M1 hold. We had a negative experience so far but we were optimistic things would get better. Unfortunately ,there seemed to be a total lack of procedure at this facility regarding communication which made it quite confusing. No one really seemed to know what to do, or what was going on. We were asked if we wanted to go behind a locked door or stay in a hallway at one point. When I asked the employee to clarify what they were talking about, they said something to the effect that some people might not feel safe waiting in the hallway since the inpatient kids might be wandering around, but that we would be locked in the nurses station otherwise. I would think they wouldn't want a stranger off the street (as trustworthy as I might seem) just hanging out with access to inpatient mental health kids, but hey, what do I know... I did not get the sense that my child would be safe or well cared for at the facility. They also did not allow visitors and did not allow me to bring food, which brings me to an important point. The food. At a facility where the goal is stabilization and healing, I would hope the food would be decent. It was terrible. I saw a meal that was brought to my child and I would not have eaten it myself. My 14yo was not able to eat wholesome meals during their stay. Not helpful. I will say the staff seemed very nice, very caring, fairly responsive. I could call at any time and ask for my child. I feel bad for the folks that work there as I can only imagine the challenges they face every day and when procedure and communication are so lacking at the administrative/management level it makes me worry if standard of care is being met. I am sure they need more staff and I am sensitive to the fact that there is a Covid surge right now and they may be scrambling for workers. Additionally, my child was not allowed to spend quiet time in their room during the day to nap or read or draw, which is pretty harmful and exhausting for an introvert with overwhelming anxiety and depression. I can only assume it's due to a local of staffing that all the patients must be in the common area. Some of the kids (younger ones I believe) were aggressive and loud (physically fighting/slamming doors) which was hard for my kiddo to be around. I don't believe that mental health treatment should be a punitive experience. I do expect better treatment of our most vulnerable. I hope that Cedar Springs gets more staff, better food, and more financial support so they can improve services and continue to serve our community. I did end up withdrawing my child AMA after four days (kiddo was sobbing, begging me to bring them home.). We have a treatment team in place, a safety plan, and I have taken time off work to provide care and supervision as best I can until we can get into a PHP or IOP elsewhere. It was a valuable experience; my child learned that their difficulties may not be as severe as what some kids are dealing with and they are doing a good job utilizing the safety plan created at Cedar springs with the therapist there (Lindsay- thank you). Also shout out to Sheila and Amy for being helpful and kind.
