//Color Room Studio #4// I was looking to do something with my hair that I've never really done before. I'm Chinese and have very dark hair and I wanted to try going blonde-ish/ashy for the first time. I asked a lot of my sorority sisters for recommendations and one of my sisters suggested Jamie at Color Room Studio. She recently got her hair done by her and it looked sooooo good. After looking through her Instagram @jamiepicasso, I was pretty convinced that she was the one to go to. I made an appointment by texting her on Sunday night (her contact info can be found on her IG) and was scheduled for that Friday. I was a few minutes late, but she was very chill about it. In my initial text with her, I gave a description of what I wanted along with a photo. I've only colored my hair once before, so I was pretty new at it and wasn't entirely sure if what I wanted would turn out nice, so she gave me advice and suggestions along the way. She was very nice and easy to get along with. She plays R&B in the background and gets to know you, which makes the whole experience enjoyable. She also offers water or soda to you. I wish I took pictures of her studio, but it's very cute. It has rustic decor, and is very minimalistic. You don't feel crowded or cluttered, which is nice. A couple hours and a lot of inches later, my hair looked soooo different, and was exactly what I was looking for. She made the highlights look very natural and it doesn't look brassy, which is what I asked for. Because my hair is so dark, she warned me that it will take a little while for it to lighten up and get blonder, but the ashy blonde is definitely there. After she was done, she asked me to text her in the morning to make sure I was okay with anything, and if it wasn't (but of course it was), I could come in another time to get it to where I wanted it to be. I didn't need to come in, so I'm not sure if that would have been free or if it would have been an extra fee... She also gave me advice on what products to use to ensure that my color stays as long as possible. I spent $150 for a cut and color + a $15 tip. Getting your hair done is definitely not cheap, but it never is if you want it to look great! I spent $145+ tax the first time I ever got it colored at another salon, and although I didn't hate it, I didn't love it. So if you care about your hair, $150 is not that bad. Ever since coming, I've gotten so so many compliments on my haircut and color, and I'm so grateful for her cause she did a great job! I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking to cut/color their hair!! read more

My boyfriend went with "kreations" worst hair stylist here. She took it upon herself to shave one of his eyebrows. He came home and it looked like he did not get a haircut. Definitely should not be cutting hair. read more

- For Hair Magic (studio 15) - Yer a wizard, Jamie! I've been following this girl around for over 4 years now, and it's really starting to get pathetic (from Carlton, to Salon Amerige, and now Hair Magic). She's SO GOOD at what she does, so passionate, AND. LOVES. CATS. Obvi, she's THE ONE. I'm constantly getting compliments on my haircut and color- even if it's been half a year since I'd last seen her (when school got in the way). She sets a beautiful foundation for healthy hair, actually listens to what you have to say about what you want to achieve in it, and really breaks down the technicality for you if you're interested (I sure am!). She also teaches other stylists at the Goldwell Academy, so she really does know what the heck she's talking about. Check out her IG! https://www.instagram.com/jamisonsayshello read more

I went to visit Jaime as a hair model for a class that she was teaching about cutting long layers. There were three students in the class. The small class size really gives an intimate approach to learning. Practicing while being instructed by Jaime really helped to motivate and give confidence to the ladies as they were working. I have long, thick, curly hair. Jaime gave the ladies great instructions about how to cut and style the different types of hair. This morning, I went in with out of control curly hair that I had brushed out and put in a braid. I came out with long flowing locks of soft straight goddess hair! I've been standing in front of a fan all afternoon and shaking my head like they do in the commercials. Go see and or be taught by Jaime. She's The Hair Whisperer! read more

Melissa in studio 28 eyelashes and skin care did a great job on my eyelash extensions. I am not familiar with the different styles, lengths and shapes for eyelashes and she took the time to educate me on what style would go nicely with how my natural lashes grow. she took her time to make sure that not only did I leave happy with her work but also made sure she was proud of her finished product. She's very warm and welcoming and you won't regret her service. I will definitely be going back to her!! read more

So I found Nancy at a salon in Rancho Cucamonga and fell in love with her styling ability. She moved to a salon in Pasadena and even though it was quite a drive, I followed because I love the way my hair looks when she's through. My color always looks great and I get tons of compliments on my hair where ever I go. She now owns this salon in Chino Hills which is perfect because it so much closer for me. The salon is super cute and stylish; very contemporary. It's also private, only two chairs, so you feel like you are having your own private styling session. She offers coffee, homemade lemon-cucumber water, and cookies. Such great personal touches! read more

I visited Sola Salon for the first time this past weekend. To my surprise, It was a bunch of salon suites facilities, in which cosmetology professionals are working as independent operator tenants. The structure was quite impressive. However, I went in there looking for Salon Divina because I had already scheduled an appointment with her. Divina is an extremely educated stylist. Not only is she a great hair chemist, but she's also a great listener and works hard to achieve what you want. In addition, Divina has an amazing assistant, she's very talented and gives the best scalp massages. I definitely recommend Divina for anyone who is looking for amazing results. read more

I entered the experience of permanent eye liner very cautiously. Carol did an outstanding job assuring me of the safety and health precautions. We spent about an hour getting the "rough draft" of my eyeliner JUST right before we even started the tattoo process. I couldn't believe how much care Carol took in making sure I was absolutely happy. The numbing cream she uses is great at taking away the pain throughout the procedure. Overall the outcome looks gorgeous! She has gained a happy client! I will probably get more permanent make up through Carol because she created such a safe, sanitary, and warming environment. read more

its been YEAAAAAAAAAARRRRSSSSS since ive walked away from a haircut and been as happy as i was a few days ago. i usually am a little unsatisfied with one or two things that stylists do incorrectly (like cutting bangs too short or not taking enough volume out, whatever it may be that differs from what i ask at the time). i went to sola salon for my first time to get my haircut by eddie scixxorhands. even tho it was my first time meeting him, he knew EXACTLY what i wanted and i fully trusted him. he knew what the hell he was doing and i cant begin to tell u how much i appreciate that. hes got a lifelong client now! certainly worth the drive to chino hills from long beach. if you want someone who knows wtf theyre doing and on top of their game, book him and book him fast cuz i had to wait almost 2 months to get in to see him. i also already booked my next appt. hes that good lol read more

I got my hair done from Maryam Orfizadeh.. first time she was good .. but the time after she was wayy over priced and did a very bad job on my hair .. she said she gave me a first time customer discount the first time so the second time I gave her 250+ for a color and highlights retouch ... she didn't give me a proper cut ( and claimed to have given it) just cut the ends straight.. I thought she'll give me a proper cut after color but never happened... I felt ripped off .. too much money for a crappy service .. I never give a bad review becoz I never want to be the reason for someone's loss of business but this lady has really pushed my buttons.. read more

Hair Magic- Studio 15- The first time Jamie and I got together my hair was a faded blue-black that I had dyed on a whim. That day we turned it into this vibrant coral pink that got complements everywhere I went. After I got bored of that, we took it to a bright coppery orange that I adored. A couple weeks later I was hired by a more conservative company and we had to bring my hair back down to earth a little with a dark auburn. Even after all the bleaching and dying my hair is still incredibly healthy and that's all due to the skilled professional that is Jamie. She creates custom colors just for you, that are gorgeous and unique (just like her). I don't think I will ever go to anyone else, and I'll follow her to Mars if I have to! read more
