I was somewhat impressed with the dolphin tour I went on this morning. Captain Steve and First Mate…read moreJoel were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the wildlife that lives in the bay. During the tour, I saw a handful of dolphins, which made it worth it. I have two complaints about the experience. First, the tour was way too crowded. I had gone on this tour once in the past, and there were about ten people on the boat. This time around, there were 32 people. This made it incredibly difficult to move around the boat to try and spot dolphins. Moreover, all of us were practically sitting on top of one another. The bench seating couldn't accommodate all of us. My other issue with this tour was the lack of shade. Only the back third of the boat was covered, so sitting in the front was incredibly hot. Most of the other pontoon boats we passed were shaded completely. If you're going to go on this dolphin tour, I'd recommend going earlier in the morning. My 10:00 a.m. tour was far too hot and far too crowded. Also, I'd suggest that you wear sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and clothing that covers your shoulders. If not, prepare to get some sunburn. A full bottle of water or two is also a necessity. Finally, make sure you bring some cash along to tip the captain and first mate.
