I personally didn't feel challenged in the class that I attended, but it is a very nice fitness…read moreclub! Just not the pace that I prefer when it comes to HIIT workouts. The instructor was also less involved throughout the workouts, which isn't a bad thing. Again, just not my preference! I really liked the quotes and zen of the place though. Very motivating.

I've been to this Tuluka Fitness 3 times to work out since finding it on ClassPass. The drop in…read moreclasses on ClassPass cost fewer credits than a lot of other gyms, so it was easy to decide to try it out. (I think the memberships cost over $200 a month even with new member promotions, so you have to really like the gym and really have the money to spend in order to get yourself a membership.) There is a parking lot behind the gym and a garage across the street where you can park if it's full. The selling point on the workouts here is that you can choose to work upper or lower body in one of the sections, kind of like a choose your own sweaty adventure. You start with a warmup, do the upper or lower body sub workout, do an abs sub workout, then do the workout of the day (WOD). That last part may remind you of Crossfit workouts, and their workouts indeed have Crossfit elements to them. The workout of the day includes a set of cardio with your choice of runs on the treadmill, pull downs on the ski erg, cycling on the assault bike or ergs on the rower. We did box jumps the first time I worked out here, but the trainer always asks you to let them know if you have any injuries or concerns with any of the movements and they can modify for you. I waited to go a couple more times after my first workout because I went through that first one largely annoyed. The trainer spoke Spanish for the majority of the time and lost any pleasantry when she turned to speak to me for corrections or the equipment to use. While a little kudos here and there would be motivating, she had little energy and said nothing encouraging. It felt like a cluster for a moment because there were 10 people (for a 6 AM workout) needing to use the same equipment for the WOD (like the boxes), so we needed to start the round at different sets. The other aspect of the workouts that reminds me of Crossfit is that the rounds can be repetitive, especially because you have to count reps constantly. Each sub workout consists of 3 rounds. The last time I went a few days ago, the trainer (a new one for me) told us to do each set within the sub workout 3 times before moving onto the next set, instead of doing each kind of set once and going through them 3 times. Either way, it's on you to count how many reps you do and and keep track of how many sets and rounds you've done and finish them within the allotted time (usually 10-12 minutes). The trainer leads you through a stretch at the end to cool down. What's great and torturous about the workouts is that they will take an hour from start to stretching finish. While many other studios and workouts promise a certain time like 45 or 50 minutes, I find myself sometimes coming out of the studio earlier than that time frame. You know you'll get the most out of the time you spend at this gym. It's a bonus that they lend towels to use during the workouts, because you will need one!

Many times we believe that a coach is there to tell you how many repetitions and voila, what's more, it is common to see them watch TV or start conversations with other people making you feel insignificant which does not help in the transformation you are looking for when transforming your body, I quickly understood after working with others that like everything in life, exceptional is achieved with small adjustments beyond the standard. The training methodology and strategy not only includes eating well, but your mentality when doing your exercises, thanks to him I feel motivated and I'm even giving more than I think I can and here is the key, I don't know It is about repetitions, but about the set and the personality of the one in front of you and the group work of different muscles, that is achieved with experience and Moe you have it, so if you are looking to transform your body and you want someone who knows, and gives results and not only that but it will be there to push you psychologically and physically you must train with it! My word to define it is exceptional, remember that life does not reach excellence with mediocrity, you must work with the best! You find it in Olympia gym in adventure! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My review is for the Aescape massage provided by Equinox. I saw an ad for the Aescape robot massage…read morewhile scrolling Facebook - Aescape places these massage machines in different gyms and spas, so I picked the Equinox in Aventura since it was the closest. Check-in at the main gym front entrance was quick and pleasant , but once I got to the desk in the spa area it took a minute to find anyone to actually help me. Eventually someone showed me to the room and had me change into the little fitted top and bottom they provide. You also take off your shoes and jewelry and put your hair up so the machine arms don't get caught. Everything is computerized [no surprise there] When you lie face-down, there's basically an iPad-esque screen right under you. From this screen you pick your massage style, pressure, focus areas, ambiance music, adjust the table... all of it. Then the machine scans your body to map out your stress points like it's building a strategic plan for your back. FYI -- if you move, even a little, the machine pauses until you're back in position. I chose the full-body massage with extra attention on my shoulders. Each section had phases -- a warm-up, the main massage, and a cooldown. You can skip past any section if you want and adjust pressure at any time. Now, my mind kept flashing to every robot movie I've ever seen but honestly? This was one of the best massages I've had. The machine knew exactly where my shoulder knots were hiding. When I finished, there was nobody at the tiny spa desk again, so I just quietly walked out. Wasn't sure what else to do lol I give the massage itself 5 stars, but took one off because the spa area felt completely unattended both when I walked in and when I walked out. I wasn't even sure if I was supposed to check out with someone or just disappear into the sunset I will say I recall the person who helped me saying it was a relatively new addition to the gym [I think], and I did receive a follow up text asking about my experience. For the price [$19 to $$29] it cant be beat. I'm definitely going back, not just for the cost though but because that massage actually got the knots out of my shoulders!

After a little more than half way through my rehab workouts, meaning 20 workout sessions out of 36,…read moreI need to finally write this review about a place that has helped me get my physical workouts back on track after having major heart surgery in November. I can't write enough about this place but will try to do the best I can, being that it has been an important part of my recovery and strength in my confidence of an active, physical life I have always been used to. Memorial Regional Fitness and Rebab Center is owned by Memorial Regional Hospital, but is a regular Fitness Center separate from the Hospital off Johnson Street. It is behind the Target Store off Hollywood Blvd. It's is a large facility with more cardio equipment than most of the gyms or fitness centers I have belonged to. There are a large number of treadmills, elliptical equipment (all with your own separate TV's) you can watch and listen to with headphones with an easy separate keypad to adjust the stations and the volume. There are several recumbent bikes, separate free weight area, palates studio, Cyber machines and several special types of equipment that allow you to use your own body weight to build your upper body and core muscles. This facility is literally everything you need to get a top notch workout. Facing the cardio workout area, there are TV's above in front of all the machines you can watch as well. Being a patient at Memorial Regional Hospital, I was given the opportunity to do my rehab in this facility which also has an area with specialists for any rehab program needed: cardio, orthopedic, as well as training for special fitness goals and for specific sports. There is a nurse, Susan, in this area who is really the most helpful, nicest person to have around in case you have any questions. She continually checks on how you are feeling if you are in rehab and is there if you need her. Many of the rehab trainers there are students that are doing their internships there, and are VERY knowledgeable and know how to monitor and help you get back on your feet. They specialize on the physiological part of cardio and weight training and know what exercises you SHOULD NOT do, which most of us think help us, but in the long run hurt us. They explain why they do different types of exercises and what muscles are effected and get you started to get you on your own again. If you are in cardio rehab, they constantly monitor your blood pressure and your heart rate during different phases of your cardio training. They are very professional and are truly there to help you. Most insurance companies will cover these rehab sessions for a specific number of visits until you are on your own. Before I started going here I knew it was an actual regular fitness center and since I have been there during my rehab, I figured out that there is a big advantage to joining this facility and work with the same people you started with to achieve any goals you need to achieve. The one trainer I work with told me he would get me ready for skiing next year since I had to skip my annual trip this year. He knows the muscle groups that need to be trained in the gym and how to do it. Many NFL players use this facility from time to time in the off season for the same reasons, to get specific workouts for their personal goals. I look forward to going here 3 days a week and never enjoyed working out in a gym/fitness center as much as this one. If you have children, they have a nursery to take care of your kids while you are working out. The locker rooms and bathrooms are clean and spacious, which also have TV's in them to watch while getting dressed (or undressed). I have gone from light cardio to full cardio workouts in 6 weeks and after 10 weeks, started incorporating weights for lower body and core and after 12 weeks, upper body. It has been a tremendous experience for me and look forward to progressing back to full and longer weight training at this facility without interruption. Again, this is a regular gym that anyone can join. They have very professional trainers that know what they are doing and will track your progress of all your workouts. I have not actually gotten the pricing yet on the membership exactly but is comparable to LA Fitness. I do know the trainers are a lot less expensive than most gyms, but again I do not have the exact figures. If you live anywhere near Hollywood Blvd. or in the area, I highly recommend looking into making this facility part of your regular daily routine.
