We love this place and the people there. Especially cashier Jose. I had tamales and pupusas this evening. Delicious.

If you ask any El Salvadoran from the DMV, they will tell you to go somewhere else (haha). But I personally like this place and it's one of the first places I've ever had a Pupusa! While the pork pupusa is a little greasy, the chicken pupusa a little bland, the cheese one is PERFECTION. Grilled attractively with the cheese having that beautiful, brown char; I fell in love as I pulled it apart completely in awe as the cheese stretched into my mouth. THAT'S what I think of if I'm craving a Pupusa. This may not be "the best" in the DMV, but I don't care, I'll always swing by here for my Cheese Pupusa!

Pupusas are delicious I got the pork and the beans! The soap de res (beef soup) is also fire came to the restaurant twice in one week. If you are visiting in town be sure to swing by this place. Tacos I would say are ok. Everyone working here is really nice and I like the music as well. Took my food to go because I was staying close.

I stopped by here recently for rotisserie chicken and pupusas to go. The chicken I received was dried out on the edges in two spots, as though it had been sitting out for a while and not freshly cut. The flavor did not make up for the dried out piece I received. The white sauce had too much of a garlic taste to it. The fried plantains were perfectly cooked. The yucca was also dried out. The pupusas were amazing! Large in size, perfectly grilled with cheese oozing out the sides and crispy. I got 3 types, one of each; cheese, pork filled and also bean. The cabbage that went with it was delicious. This will become my new pupusa spot. Nice outdoor seating area. Next to a laundry mat too.

This is my all-time favorite Pupuseria in town!! Sofia's can do no wrong in my eyes. When I first started to order from here, I'd get their empanadas, pupusas, and tamales. Over the years I haven't been able to stop ordering their chicken and carne asada tacos. My Oh My! are they good!! If you're ever in the Arlington area, I highly recommend you make a stop by. They even serve breakfast so don't ever think that you're too early or too late. The wait time is typically 15- 20 minutes for food and they do get busy during the lunch rush. Don't sleep on this place!

A local spot serving high-quality fishes with fresh ingredients! I ordered the fish fillet with salad and grilled veggies which was delicious and came with two homemade tortillas. We also ordered a side of fried plantains which were so good! Food took a little while to cook but was well worth the wait.

When I was walking around the neighborhood, I passed by Sofia's and I just had to come inside and try. I've loved pupusas since I was you g and it has always been a comfort food for me. I got the pork, beans, and loroco pupusas. I recommend eating these pupusas with the pickled vegetables and salsa with it. The pork had a lot of flavor. The loroco was basically a vegetable inside with a slight floral taste. It was filled with a lot of cheese. The beans were interesting because normally my pupusas with beans are not that cheesy but this was cheese city!! The cheese was so melty and stretching it was like those mozzarella stick commercials. I think the price with the flavor is an awesome combination and I'll definitely be stopping by again! COVID-wise: employees are wearing gloves and masks. Tables are 6 ft apart. Everyone is required to wear a mask inside.

i give the food a 4 and the place is pretty decent but this made me upset and worried i will end up in the hospital.

I've been on the search for solid pupusas. La Casitas in Silver Spring set the bar for me, so I really wanted to find something of similar quality... and Sofia's Pupuseria is it! I called them to arrange a pick up and it was ready in 20 minutes. They did a great job wrapping up the food and keeping everything fresh. I ordered four revueltas (pork and cheese) and two carne asada tacos. The revueltas were amazing!! I think they are more cheesy than I've had before, but zero complaints. The complimentary sauce and coleslaw went perfectly with them. The carne asada tacos were also amazing. I liked them better than other taco-specific restaurants. It was an easy pick up! Staff are still masked and enforcing social distancing. I'm so excited to make this place one of my regulars.

A good place to try Salvadoran comfort food. In 2020: Staff wear masks, which is highly appreciated. They also have outdoor seating. Food: It was my first time trying pupusas, but my husband had had them in El Salvador and he really enjoyed trying Sofia's. The steak dinner was really good, and very filling. It truly tasted like homemade food. Highly recommended!

My partner did note that the bathrooms weren't that great. You immediately get served complementary chips and salsa. They were pretty basic, but not bad. We ordered the following: + Papusas (Pork and Cheese & Loroco and Cheese) - Decent, although I prefer the Loroco (an edible flower bud). + Pollo à la Primavera (chicken dish) - Yummy, especially the sauce which mixes well with their hot/spicy sauce too! I could do without the salad dressing. + Camarones con Calabeza (shrimp dish) - Same as above! Note they leave the tails on. + Natural Juices (Mango and Maranon) - So refreshing! I loved the Maranon (cashew apple) was a wonderful burst of tropical sweetness with a subtle nutty taste. I appreciate that for the pupusas they had the foresight to provide my partner and I two plates so we could sphere the papusas. The portion sizes of the entrees were great for the price. It did take a while for the staff to swing by so that we could get boxes and the check. Note that credit cards and mobile pay are accepted. I definitely wouldn't mind coming back again to try more items on their menu.

This place is located in a convenience store, so when you're approaching the address, it's not very obvious that this place is located inside due to the lack of signage. This place has limited hours and I believe they open early for breakfast and close at 4:00 p.m. I originally wanted to call in my order, but didn't see a decent menu online and/or prices, so I made my way there. I got there maybe about 20 minutes before they closed as I saw the chairs up on top of the tables in their seating area. I immediately just ordered the carne asada tacos, the pork pupusas and the cheese pupusa. I took it to go, brought it inside my car and because I didn't eat lunch and it was almost dinner time, I literally picked up the cheese pupusa and ate it in my car. It was piping hot and delicious. I didn't even put the little salad / hot sauce on top as I was really hungry. Overall it was really good. Of course, I moved on to the taco and thought it was kinda small, but thought to myself I should have ordered one more. I think it was comparable to the price that I paid, but for someone that was hungry I knew that maybe four wouldn't not be enough but thankfully the pupusas filled me up. I didn't finish my food completely as I drove home because I wanted to really sit down and try the food. My overall feedback on the tacos is to probably ask them to make my tacos medium rare if at all possible. Secondly, I would probably order at least five and maybe four pupusas. I think that would satisfy my craving and I would be full. I love supporting small businesses so if you are in the area, please stop by and try out this place.

On top of that, I ordered a steak taco, which unfortunately didn't make it into a picture either because I ate it too fast. What stood out to me was the "shell." Instead of the usual flour or corn tortilla, it uses the same masa dough as the pupusa, and I really enjoyed that difference.
