For a city trip to Kraków we rented one double room and one single room in the Sofia Bed & Breakfast. We stayed there for 5 nights. The rooms were clean, the interior was beautiful and the rooms were large enough. WiFi was free and it worked fine. Sofia B&B is located about 11 km from the city, but the market square is easily reachable by public transport in just over half an hour. Bus stop Bielany Szkoła is very close to the B&B and several bus lines go from there to Salwator, where one can switch to tram line 1 or 2.
The owner, Maria, was very hospitable and did her utmost to ensure that we had a pleasant stay. Unfortunately she didn't speak English, but her daughter, who was also very kind and attentative, helped to talk to her. The choice at breakfast was overwhelming: sausages, boiled and fried eggs, fruits, cucumber, tomatoes, you name it. It was all delicious and much more than we could possibly eat. Maria was worried that we didn't like the breakfast because in her opinion we ate so little. With help of her daughter we could convince her that we liked the breakfast very much, only we are not big eaters. Every evening when we got back, we got tea with cookies and even small cakes for free, just to make us feel at home.
On the final day, after payment and checkout, we left our luggage there and went to the market square one more time since our flight home was only in the evening. When we came back, we got drinks and cookies again, and Maria offered coffee and tea also. She and her daughter both called taxi companies to make sure we would get a taxi in time to get to the airport. Again great service!
If we ever go back to Kraków, we will definitely stay at Sofia Bed & Breakfast again. read more
