Like so many Yeeps that went before me, this place rocked my socks. In fact, they solved sock problems I didn't even know I had. Do you frequently lose a sock in your laundry? Buy Throx - three socks for the price of two. Do you want to impress AND intimidate others? Buy ninja socks [1] Do you want to dress up like a roller derby girl for Halloween? Why yes I do and now I know where to shop. The store is in an impossibly cute restored home located in Sellwood. Just go up the stairs and behind the lovely purple door you will find socks of all shapes and varieties. They even have a little alcove in the back with slightly more risque leggings and garter belts. Another problem solved. Now I know where to shop for gifts for my next bridal shower. Very nice staff and they are a Chinook Book vendor so you can take $5 off your purchase. And yes, this place is really a boutique and prices are on the high side, but for most of us these aren't socks you wear every day. These are special occasion socks. [1] So the ninja socks totally backfired because my youngest took them as a challenge and has decided to attack me with his own karate moves whenever I wear them. Whatever. That's fine unless he steals my socks.

Sweet dreams are made of...lots of socks. I finally made it to this shop after having ordered from their website for a few years and it was totally awesome to see where my socks were coming from. This place is so cute and so packed full of stuff for your footsies. Socks, tights, leggings, leg warmers, etc. It's a fairly small space(it's totes formerly a house), but they really pack it in. I felt somewhat overwhelmed but it's only because I'm an anxious mess of a person and even socks make me nervous(there may be something wrong with me). Anyway! I bought three pairs in store and the cashier had cool hair and was so super friendly. Go here. Buy socks. Be happy and not anxious.

Sock Dreams carries a huge variety of socks for adults and kids; everything from cashmere over-the-knee; to Made In Vermont cotton, to SmartWool in every size thickness and pattern you'd want; to an enormous selection of sports, cartoon and novelty pattern socks. I was dismayed to see Sock Dreams suddenly disappear from Sellwood a couple months ago, and then was pleased to see an ad in the Sellwood Bee inviting customers to the new location on N. Mississippi. Despite the familiar signage, the store was surprisingly hard to spot amid the profusion of storefront shops on that block. The space seems smaller, but, same as in Sellwood, they are happy to fetch additional items from the back.

I was tempted to begin this with a few bad puns. "This store's just socks, but I love it anyway" or "Socks to be you". But I'll spare you. As someone who typically gets Kirkland white-with-grey-bottom socks for general use and Columbia outlet stuff for hiking I don't feel particularly well qualified to write this post, but hey hath not a boring dude feet. Having recently moved into our Sellwood hood, Sock Dreams is like a portal of vibrant warm fuzzy happiness. The renovated house, the friendly sockperts, the myriad of assorted foot coverings, all contribute to the comforting at ease sensation you'll never find in the harsh lights of an H&M or Gap. Like people, socks apparently come in a wide range of shapes, sizes, and styles (they even have different jobs). So there are half socks, footies, anklets, midcalves, knee highs, over the knee, thigh high, dream stockings, toe socks. And those were just the socks, there's accessories too. So far, with some staff assistance, I've just bought gifts for my much better half, both of which were well received and reasonably priced. Personally though I'm thinking about the dragon socks and/or the joker socks. Don't live in Portland, don't dispair. Unlike the food I blog about all this is available on-line, in fact their web selections surpass even their in-store offerings. Ultimately Socks Dreams is just fun, a cozy escape from banality, a mini world of argyle, candy cane, and even tie-dye. I guess that wasn't so bad. No puns like "We will sock you" needed.

I'm telling you, this isn't a few birds.

I know. Sock Dreams needs another ecstatic endorsement the way Tiger Woods* needs another mistress with text evidence of his being really into choking bitches. But hot damn, have you been in this store? It may take up a single level in a jaunty little Victorian house, but that level is full of all the greatest leg-warmers, knee-highs, stockings, and little booties. So many colors, so many textures, so many women of so many ages as well as more than a few dudes squealing, "Aaaaugh! Lookitthissocute!" Seriously, after one trip here, your feet are going to become insatiable for the taste of new coverings more than once a day. Your tootsies will be sock sluts. If you don't believe me, take a look the new playmates I brought home with me today. They're way into footsy games, sometimes in public, and high-heeled boots. Judge all you want. You wish you could rock socks like me. Silly thing is, you so can. Do it. That's right. Oh baby. *To decrease the chances of this reference being dated as this review gets on in years, feel free to replace the name given here with your current pop culture sexual train wreck. Socks matched perfect! Looking forward to getting my next 2 orders in!

I just got my first order in from Sock Dreams, will def. not be my last! I am soooooooo pleased with the quality of the products and the SUPER FAST delivery! Really fantastic to have items priced so well and in my hands so fast. Thank you so much! I plan to put another in shortly as well as my sneakerhead buddies who will love these just as much as me. Glad I stumbled on your site. Thanks again. THIS WAS FOR ONLINE ORDER, I am in Austin Texas and my socks were here faster then it would take me to get time and go to a local store lol

I have never seen anything like it and genuinely, if your are like me and like to keep a pear, a few apples and an orange on hand but want them to last - this is not only amazing looking but perfect!! I did purchase a few smaller items. The first was a felt coaster which is so perfect! They have an array of different colors - my choice was a gorgeous burgundy and I loved being able to buy just one. I have coasters for guests which is a whole set but for my daily iced drink covered in condensation, this is so perfect. The card says they are made in Germany by a company called Parkhaus and how to care for and clean the coaster. The other item was a greeting card which I intend to frame. Vancouver Washington artist Claudia Moore makes the cards with foraged leaves and seeds. This is a great spot if you are looking for something unique as a gift or for your home. They also have some very nice cleaning solutions and bath products. There is a well thought, small selection of purses and bags.

Clothing is high quality and so expect the price tag to reflect that. They also sell accessories like affordable jewelry from local artisans, unique scarves, shoes/boots/sandals and even an assortment of wonderful hand reams and candles that smell so good! The other day I had to buy a pitchuli scented candle because it reminded me of my youth! Like any store, some of the clothing works for me and some doesn't. We all have to know our own bodies and what fits best. What I like about adorn most is that they have a variety of styles because they know women's bodies come in a variety of shapes! I try to stop in several times a year to see what's new, when I need a special outfit or a gift for a friend. This week I bought a pair of Mia slides that are waterproof, perfect for after my swims, and they have a Birkenstock footbed making them super comfortable with support for my feet. Love them! Just $30 and in a very on trend rose gold color with white buckles. Wore them to the pool the next day and a little girl complimented me! Too cute. My only complaint is that the store is so packed with items that when trying on shoes, there was nowhere to put the boxes while trying them on in front of the mirror. A sales clerk ended up vclearing off a stool so I could place my potential shoes there as I tried on different sizes and styles. They have several locations (downtown, SE Clinton) and it's worth visiting them all!

The prices are in the high side, especially for Portland, but a cashmere cardigan for $400 is the going rate. The boutique is bright, clean and has an industrial vibe. It's easy to browse through the racks of clothing which line the parameter on racks in a color coordinated fashion. The cashmere dresses are scrumptious! Beautiful in color, texture and style; refined elegance, classic, timeless. Even cashmere loungewear, perfect for staying comfy and warm during these long days spent at home. Kayla, the young woman working that day, was super helpful and pleasant. She easily engages in conversation and provides assistance, if that is your mode of shopping. And also gives one the freedom to browse at their leisure with no pressure to purchase, which is my preference. We visited on MLK Day and were there specifically to see what Oliveve handbags were available since I had recently come across this brand while shopping at the House of Lolo in Palm Desert. Kayla immediately recognized my Jasper bag! The Oliveve bags have a modern design, clean lines, and my bag is made of neutral colored pebbled leather. It's the perfect bag to use while shopping as it is a cross body style yet as large as a tote and holds a lot. That day there was only one Olivevebag available, a black handbag with tan wrapped handles, and my friend immediately claimed it! I'll have to go online (Oliveve.com) to buy my next one, the black oiled Italian leather Eva bag, which I've had my eye on for a few months. In addition to the clothing, they have a small selection of unique jewelry and other accessories like boots, tassels to add to your handbags, hats, belts and scarves. Even a small but unique selection of home decor items like textured throws, pillows, candles, woven baskets and trays, perfume and vases.p to adorn your home. Located on NW 11th in The Pearl District, it's around the corner from the main shopping area so unless you know it's there, you may not stumble upon it. It's worth seeking out if you want to add quality clothing to your wardrobe that you can wear season after season. And while you are there, definitely check out the jewelry, boots and the Oliveve handbags!

There really is not that much to choose from as the theme here is obviously minimalist. The few things they do have are lovely and for me, priced completely unreasonably. Like I am going to spend almost $1000 on a wool trench coat with some leather trim? Sure, it's a sharp looking coat. But good God, I know we are in the Pearl but is anyone going to spend that much? Maybe I am just not hip with the times and people really do spend that kind of money on a random coat, if so, I beg your pardon. It would be cool if your shop had goods that "normal" people like me, I know I am throwing the term normal around quite loosely but folks probably get my gist.
