Dave Chapelle was in town, and tickets were selling out within hours. On a whim, I bought two Friday night tickets for the same week. I did not check Yelp or Google reviews and decided to go in blind. As we pulled up about an hour early, there was an inordinate amount of people waiting outside, but the line was short and i know why; you have to put your phones into lockers as soon as you enter the venue and there were no ins-and-outs. We decided to just go in early, grab seats and drink and chat for an hour. The time flew by and when Dave hit the stage, it was a non-stop laugh fest for 3.5 hours. The venue is awesome, clean and the staff were extremely efficient from top to bottom. Totally recommend this venue for future events.

The music city underground offerings had actual live music more to our liking, the various bands in each room performing a range of tunes including folk, rock, blues, and reggae. The Open Jam was even funner, creating awesome music with sounds of the saxophone, bass, keyboard, vocals, and more. I especially enjoyed getting to watch and hear my bf play the guitar, drums, and melodica (musicians can bring their own instruments, or use the house instruments). The service and food/drink offerings were not the best and are the biggest reason I'm not giving 5 stars. They seemed a bit disorganized in the beginning, and guests who had tickets were confused about how to find their reserved seats (not just my party, but other attendees too) and it took a while for anyone to help us. The 7:00pm show didn't start till 7:20pm, and the second show started late as well. For dinner, we had the chicken caesar wrap and fish n chips, and though they were both delicious and good sized portions, they weren't our first choices. They were out of the steak frite and salads, and possibly more. How could you be out of multiple menu items on a special event day, before the event even starts?!? They already have a limited menu to begin with, so this was definitely a turnoff. Nonetheless, can't deny, Music City SF is still a pretty amazing music venue with a lot of potential. The venue is spacious with a small stage and upstairs behind the stage are a couple of dressing rooms, a bathroom, and an area for refreshments. Since our group was performing second, we got one of the dressing rooms so that was comfortable and the promoter provided snacks and drinks to all the performers. Lights onstage were bright and warm. There's a small bar in the back of the venue and everyone seemed to have a good time! And the bathrooms on the first floor are very clean and is attached to the restaurant next door called Curios.

Majority of the venue is standing only, with a few benches on the left and right. Near the bar is a counter table for drinks. The drinks at the bar were reasonable priced and they don't force you to buy water if you don't want to as they offer tap water on the side for free with cups! They also offered coat check near the restrooms and you can also pick up complimentary ear plugs as well! Restrooms were clean and well kept! The sound setup was a good experience. Parking can be a bit of a tough with the bars and restaurants in the area. So either come earlier to try and get a spot or Uber/Public transportation.
