I just like people to be truthful and not start name calling and assumptions when I point out things are not what we originally discussed. Construction dovetails many trades and when someone missed their window, it sets the whole project in a tail spin. Call a professional and not a "hot head", especially if you are a woman!

I paid this contractor a significant amount of money to turn my partially finished basement into a…read morebedroom, and unfortunately, I am extremely disappointed with the work and the way the entire project was handled. I hired him with the understanding that he would be doing the work himself, but instead, he hired three other people to do the job. Unfortunately, there were communication issues because they did not understand English well, and the quality of the work was very poor. About a month after the job was completed, one of the walls became moldy. He came back, cut out part of the drywall, and told me he would return the following week to properly fix it. He never came back. Instead, he wanted additional money to fix a problem that resulted from the work that was originally done. The walls were apparently not properly sealed before the drywall was installed, and now the wall beside my door is also starting to develop mold. There were also several other issues with the work. The window that was installed was never properly finished on the outside. There is glue/adhesive sticking out around it, and there is no proper trim or border to cover it. The closet was built without shelves, even though I specifically asked for shelves. When I brought this up, I was told that I never asked for them, which is not true. They also damaged the basement door, and instead of properly repairing it, they tied it shut with a piece of metal wire because the door no longer closes properly. What is most frustrating is that after taking a significant amount of money for the project, the contractor has not taken responsibility for these problems or properly completed the repairs. I am now left having to fix issues myself that should have been handled by the contractor. I would never hire this contractor again. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend them to anyone looking for quality basement renovation work. If I could give a negative rating, I would.
