Remove the furnace and make the space a closet with an access door for the shower faucets and lines. Tap and mud the closet. Put a nicer trim around the doorway. Prime, add a light and carpet on the floor. Also fix a spot in the ceiling of the shower that had an old leak. Install a walk-in shower with a safety bar, seal where he thought it could get moldy and trim out the area to finish it. He was very detailed about what he was going to do. He also said he would reinforce the area where the safety bar was being installed. A very detailed conversation. John worked for two days on the projects. He did not finish the closet like the estimate he gave me. (which he charged me for the materials - which was paid in full) He did not finish the shower like he said in his estimate. (which I paid in full for) He did not even install the shower properly. The entire thing needs to come out and be done correctly. It needs adhesive and mortar under the base and a shower bar to be safe for my mom. He did not take all the garbage. When I asked John if he was doing all the things he said to the closet, esp after being paid, he was annoyed and said if I do not trust him, he will refund me and call it a day. He refunded me for the labor of the closet, but not for materials. He refused to come back and finish the shower and ceiling. He then admitted he didn't finish, and he wasn't going to. He said he would provide a full refund for everything. The refunds were pending in my account, but now the pending refunds are gone. He blocked me on Facebook messenger and my phone number. I have numerous messages with him lying. He doesn't' even remember his lies. Just save yourself from the headache. He either really has no clue how to do these types of things or he just tried to do it half ass and make $ and rip off an old woman and disabled person.
