Tonight we ate at So Long, one of my all-time Manhattan favorites. I had my go to raspberry chipotle dip and then the peanut butter burger. It was mediocre at best. The bacon was obviously made this morning and left over and there was little peanut butter on the burger not a hint of Sriracha or whatever they have historically had on there for the Bitey Sause. The dip was everything but raspberry. Just because you sold cheap beer with pineapple juice and got away with it for years doesn't mean you can let your food slide. Step it up. read more

One piece of advice: plan to wait a bit! I really wasn't expecting a wait at lunch time during the week in the summer (especially since the rest of the town seemed a bit empty due to students being away) but there was one as wait! Luckily it was not too long, but I'm told this place is pretty popular and waits are expected as the space isn't huge and it's a popular spot for students, families and alumni. We started with the Raspberry Chipotle Bean Dip (Thanks to Yelp for a free order of this! Just make sure to check in when you arrive ;) ) and it was really delicious! I will admit that I was pretty hesitant to order it as our appetizer because it just did not sound appetizing to me, but it's really strange how well the raspberry flavor, chiptole sauce, cheese and beans go together! Would definitely recommend to anyone who hasn't tried it yet! For my entree I ordered the Resist Temptation because I was told I would be glad I didn't resist... and they were right, but it is hard (at least for me) not to like a burger with an egg and bacon.. It was very filling though so order if you are hungry! I did substitute the cheese out for pepperjack because I like some heat on my burger and I thought it paired well with it. The onion rings were a great pair with it as they weren't the overly fried and deep fried type of onion rings but just seemed to be battered and fried once which I prefer. The ambiance here reminds me of the college town feel I get when I'm back in Chapel Hill so I really loved it here. It seemed like a great place to go for a quick bite, a drink, or hanging out especially with TVs all around the place. The space is small though but they really utilized all of it with some big communal tables. The service here was awesome! Everyone was really friendly and patient despite how busy it was! If I'm ever in Manhattan, I'll have to stop by and order the raspberry chipotle bean dip and a Nancy (an Old Milwaukee beer with pineapple juice! Very refreshing in the summer!)! read more

Come here from time to time with friends for the convenience of location. I certainly enjoyed the full bar and the selections of liquor and beer they are offering. The menu is surprisingly much more than regular bar food. Love their Chipotle Raspberry & Black Bean Dip, and Texas Style Chili for light lunch or with drinks. Hamburgers are all very good, but I recommend you try the Resist Temptation for a fulfilling experience. Great place to hang out with friends, but the place is a bit too small. read more

Best burgers in Manhattan! Fun atmosphere and great staff! Sometimes there is an inconsistency in the food but it's generally a minor issue. The same kitchen is connected to Taco Lucha and they share a few dishes between the menus. In my opinion So Long Saloon is much much better than taco lucha. read more

Not very bid bar, but the food was decent. We ordered the philly sub and their famous raspberry black bean dip. The dip was served with crispy corn tortilla chips. None of that stale stuff either. The sandwich was loaded with ALOT of meat and cheese. And it cake with skinny fries. What a treat bc the 2 paired really well. Our waitress was nice, very attentive and kept our water topped off... Good burgers and even have a portabello sandwich/burger that I have been getting since I stopped eating meat, it's also really good. Their raspberry bean dip is a MUST. Their Nancy's are really popular too I recommend the pirate Nancy with a shot of rum for a little extra kick. Price wise it might be like 1-2$ more expensive than one would expect, given the atmosphere. But, the food is great and it's usually pretty lively. While visiting Manhattan, KS for a K-State graduation, my brother took me to So Long Saloon for dinner. This is a pretty popular spot and has cool decor (think Dia de los Muertos) and tvs to watch various games. You can't be seated until you're entire party has arrived, so keep that in mind. We had the Chipotle Raspberry & Black Bean dip with chips. YUM! I wasn't feeling like a burger, so I had the Pork Chili Verde Stew, which was really good.
