I have been coming all the way out to this location for many, many, MANY years; my parents' local…read morefolk dance group has a tradition of reserving the grounds, spending the weekend in the cabins and using the enormous, hollowed out barn for dancing. And there's a lot to talk about when it comes to this location, with its beautiful rolling hills and rustic facilities, which are growing more and more popular as people find out it exists and that they can rent it for various lengths of time. Here's my thoughts on the various aspects of this location and property: -The general location: This place is located in beautiful Pennsylvania countryside; absolutely a lovely place to spend a weekend! -The barn: The barn is probably the main reason the local folk dance group keeps coming on out; it's been "hollowed" so that there's no stalls or anything inside, providing lots of space for tables - which we set for dinner - as well as for dancing in a very large group. A fridge, sink and "bar" area are in the corner for people to use, too. -The cabins: The cabins - I believe there's around 50, maybe more of them on the grounds - are about as good as you can expect. They're wooden with linoleum floors - i.e. COLD. The showers aren't amazing but are functional, and the beds...not the most comfy thing ever, not going to lie. If you have a bad back, I'm sorry: the beds are not going to help it. If you have kids and you rent a cabin ask about the ones with bunk beds. -The lake: There's a beautiful lake here that is worth strolling alongside when the sun is out; in recent years management has even added a little plaza, presumably because more and more weddings are being booked here. It's a beautiful place to just sit and relax. -The playground: There is indeed a playground, although I remember it before the equipment was all replaced with plastic. I'm sure kids'll love it; I personally miss the old set-up, although I love that the basketball and volleyball court are still there. -The main building: Finally, there's a main building which I have not been in for a long time - the folk dance group just reserves the barn now - but I remember being a pretty cool place to hang out. There used to be a pool room and a swimming pool up there as well, but I don't know if they're still there. Definitely a nice place to look into for indoor/outdoor events, although since this is Pennsylvania countryside sometimes the weather just will not cooperate with your plans - it happens. The cabins aren't phenomenal but this place does have a nice rustic feel to it, so if you think that's what you want, check it out and book something quickly - it's amazing just how popular this spot in the middle of nowhere is becoming!

Recent years have brought us to trampoline parks, laser tag, mini golf, go karts, and this year we tried bubble soccer for the first time. I'M SO GLAD WE DID! The indoor field house means that you don't have to worry about your game getting rained out. The facility and equipment is brand new and in perfect condition. Chris the owner, was friendly, organized, helpful, and a pleasure to work with. He took us through a variety of bubble games we could play (listed on their site) that ranged from king of the ring style games where you'd try to bump your opponent out of bounds, to President, where each team is trying to protect their president from being knocked over (like capture the flag with people). We tried bumper soccer too, but all of us actually preferred the other games more, just because the soccer ball is a little hard to see and get to, while you're in your big bubble. My group of about 20 all played hard, got a great workout, had a great time, and made it through without any injuries. The birthday package includes drinks and pizza. If you've ever wanted to sprint full force and your friend and knock them over, without risking injury or the friendship, C-Side will make your dreams come true!

Disclaimer: this review is from the perspective of a parent of a youth hockey player…read more This is a nice arena with a great snack bar where you can get made to order hot food and fresh coffee. There is only one sheet of ice but the arena in general is so well maintained and situated in a nice park area that it is hard to give them anything but 5 stars. The lobby area is large with large windows to watch from the warmth of the lobby. There is a very nice snack bar where they make fresh pizza and other grill items like hamburgers and eggs. The coffee isn't the best tasting, but it is fresh and hot - and costs just $1. There are a couple TVs hanging from the walls and a small arcade. I didn't see a pro-shop but they do sell a few items like tape in a vending machine. The lone negative in the lobby is the restrooms. They're dingy and usually dirty when I've been there. The ice rink is very bright. All the lights work and the score board functions properly. They also have a board that displays shots on goal, a nice feature that not all rinks have. A nice thing they do, which no other rink does for amateur hockey and least at the A level, is cut the ice between 2nd and 3rd period. That is an awesome thing. There is a lot of room for the spectators, and the steps are not steep. Very comfortable. This rink doesn't want people to watch along the glass at the corners, and they have put visual obstructions on the glass to discourage people from standing there. They probably have a good reason, but as a parent I often like to stand where I have the best vantage point to see him play and hopefully get action pictures. They have a large parking lot too. With the nice amenities for parents, this is a good venue for tournament games, or any activity that requires you to spend time here waiting, This is a rink that I always look forward to coming to.
