SNO is a three gallery space which is supported by Marrickville Council and the Australian Government through a Visual Arts and Crafts Strategy. It is also assisted by Arts NSW. The gallery is available for exhibitions by application and if successful they are invited to exhibit in either their Sound Project or Artist studio. This occurs once a month.
SNO encourages projects with innovative approach to abstract art including approach to sound, music, new media and plastic arts. They like to have exhibitions that present both established and emerging artists together.
On this occasion we are visiting the exhibition Sound Work with works from Jessica Hogan and Jessica Tse. I pick up a set of headphones and looking at the framed picture which resembles a grid, the music is nice but I'm not sure what the connection is so I go hunt for more of the story. Perhaps I need to know more about the artists to fully appreciate this exhibition.
SNO is a fantastic space and if you are wandering around cosmopolitan Marrickville Road drop in and have a look for yourselves. read more
