There's a bus stop outside the station, which you can take into Fontainebleau, a mere two miles away. We have use both this station and the one Thomery without any issues for years.
The train schedule is clearly posted inside and it is easy to read. There is also a ticket agent (photo) on duty, who speaks limited English. But between our limited French, it all works out. LOL
The station btw serves both Transilien (commuter) and TER (regional), but no longer the TGV. So it can be quite busy, with express trains wizzing by.
