I'm about a year late on this review, but figured it was time. I was looking for a new bolt action rifle; I had settled on the Tikka T3x Stainless chambered in 6.5 creedmoor. Checked inventory online, showed they had one in stock. Young guy at the counter was super helpful and efficient. I didn't need a lot of help since I already knew what I was there for, but he got me processed and checked out in under 15 minutes. I also like supporting local / family owned shops where I can, so I'll be back for sure! read more

Worst customer service I have ever received in the flathead Valley I've spent thousands of dollars for their high prices, but tried to return a broken item and had a nightmare experience. Bank cards only sometimes work. Just terrible, I'll go to other places from now on. read more

I'm not from anywhere near here or this state but this place boasts as a "Montana Landmark." I wanted to try out fishing while in Montana and introduce my kids to it. I had only heard of Cabelas but an old dude in a coffee shop told me to hit-up this Snappy's. I am sure this is the way retail shopping used to be in America. Lot's of different stock, low pricing, and guys that are behind the counters that actually live the experiences. Their fishing department even provided me with a map to different places to fish nearby. Five rods and reels with gear later, I was out the door. I need to return before my stay here is done. I love shopping at Snappy's. They are extremely friendly and willing to help with everything you might ask about fishing and hunting. Knowledge on guns is tops. They will help you select a gun to meet your needs and not just sell you the one that Jo Blow said you needed. The only thing that needs to be improved is there cold fish bait. I have a hard time figuring out what is what when I open the refrigerator. I have been shopping snappy since I moved here 5 years ago. I give it a 5 star out of five. read more

Fishing department is wonderful. The front desk girls guys are wonderful. Management seems to be pretty good. The gun department though they have been nothing but unprofessional. Rude made assumptions. I had my 16-year-old brother pass away just yesterday on a motorcycle. I have been upset since then and I've needed to keep my mind occupied so I went in looking for a new gun one that I've been wanting for a while. The gentleman behind the counter, the younger one who is kind of tall and the same height as me about 6'1. And since my eyes were puffy and I hadn't slept well because of my little brother passing which anybody can understand that decided to yell almost as loud as he possibly could without screaming saying that he thinks I was on some type of substance so he would not fill out the paperwork for me and he did this in front of everybody. How unprofessional rude and just no class whatsoever. So I do not recommend you buying any type of gun or guns from these people at snappy's. They don't deserve your business. It's just very uncalled for what I had to go through and the season for my job is just starting and I had to take a drug test today before I went in there which is right down the street. So I know I passed my drug test with flying colors considering I got the job. But the fact that this man did this and said it to where every other customer in the store heard him say that I was on some type of substance which was an assumption on his part was so rude and he didn't have the courage or the audacity or the respect to say I'm sorry. I didn't mean to say it that loud. No a professional would have pulled me aside and asked and this is after he let me touch 10 different guns and handle them myself so they need to get there facts straight and you would think that if somebody was under the influence they wouldn't let him touch any gun. But what do I know? Snappy's is always my one stop shop when shopping for fishing supplies. Once a year, I take an annually trip to Swan Lake with my family and have been doing so since I was a little girl. We fish for Northern Pike that bring a lot of fight and we need good equipment for it. My family always made it a priority to stop in Kalispell once or twice during the two week long camping trip and Snappy's is always our first stop. We're all from Helena, so the reputation of this store travels far. I've came across amazing bate and fishing rods at reasonable prices for about 20 years now that I don't find in my hometown. Snappy's used to be a great place for bargains, especially in the basement but everything was still spendy. It's still a fun place to come when I'm trying to kill time in Kalispell. Check out a wide variety of camping gear, hunting, fishing and other sports stuff. Don't expect a deal though. Maybe if you were there 10 years ago. But still fun. read more

Snappy's has been a fixture here in Kalispell for a number of years. In recent years the store and products have been updated. As a result they are the equal to most of the outdoors stores here in town. Their products are good and their prices are competitive. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Firearms department; the older man behind the counter was arrogant, unsocial-able, argumentative and down right unpleasant. Snappy's website is misleading when it comes to firearms "in stock," They direct you to a different website where you actually have to order online from a different company; what's the sense in driving to the store if you need to order online, might as well stay home and save time, money and fuel. read more

Went to the sports store to find a pocket knife because I lost mine. My wife and I were standing at the knife stand for at least 5 minutes, an employee came up to the booth and never ask "may I help you or do you need anything". Nothing. We just waked off after a weird few minutes of silence. The gun counter dude had a horribly attitude and basically told me that I had no clue about ammunition. (I am an avid marksman and have my own shooting range and own perhaps every general caliber of rifle). I was looking to buy some AR10 ammo because I just built a new AR10. The guy at the counter said "people here shoot a lot so we don't carry cheap ammo". I could go in to lengths about their cheap ammo they carry but I will leave it to you to research. Bottom line, they obviously survive because they are the ONLY sports store within 50-100 miles that have anything. Very disappointed. They also have a very small knife selection to choose from. I was thinking I was going to find a quality selection with a small town store in Montana. Obviously I would never recommend this place. I will drive 100 miles out of the way next time. read more

LOVE this place. Has everything you never knew you wanted or needed for sporting and outdoors. The customer service is awesome. We met several super friendly people that spent the time to chat with us and make recommendations that actually suit our needs. Snappy's is also much more affordable than other stores nearby. For example, I wanted a pair of Lazy One Moose pajamas and shopped around at multiple stores. Snappy's was the cheapest by far. Snappy's also has great affordable souvenirs, such as Montana hats and t-shirts. Just a super friendly local place with lots of items at reasonable prices. Highly recommend!!! read more

Snappy sport center is by far the best place in kalispell to get your outdoor gear. They have knowledgeable employees that can get you the right gear for whatever it is you need. I go there for all my hunting and fishing supplies. They also have a fishing report and the guys there can hook you up with what the fish have been biting on. They also carry the local brand Petes tackle. read more

As for outdoors gear prices, they are very reasonable for the quality you get (rei is my main comparison point). If you want crappy Coleman gear with Walmart prices that will only last half a season, sure the gear here is slightly more expensive. The service though is what really made this place great. Rusty over in fishing knows everything you need for local spots and flies. Women's clothing sales prices were also awesome in my opinion. I honestly have no earthly idea why anyone could say one bad word about the customer service here. My boyfriend and I had a great experience gearing up for our week long Glacier adventures here. Staff was super attentive and made sure we felt comfortable with our purchases. read more

I will never shop there again. I bought a pair of brand new snow pants from them. Not even 24 hours later they refused to take them back. They have never been worn at all. I had receipt and my tags with me. There customer service is the absolute worse also. Very rude. read more

It's good to see a sporting goods store do well in our community. When my husband needed winter boots they helped us find a pair that looked really nice but after a couple of weeks they started getting really uncomfortable for him. We took them back thinking that they would probably turn us away and say that they are to worn in or something but they just smiled and took us to the wall of shoes and boots and said lets try again. They showed us some more boots and they didn't fuss. If they had better boots to start with it would be 5 star but they should carry better boots so that we don't have to go back to the store with bad ones. Good job though great customer service. read more
