Firstly, the smell of the flowers was amazing and this was aided by the simplistic, warming exterior that brought a sparkle of colour to an otherwise dull part of Ormiston Terrace. Upon entering the shop, you find yourself travelling down a channel of pristinely arranged bouquets leading down to the service counter. The staff are extremely helpful and responded to all my queries with a cheerful mannerism and without any hesitation. The range of services available is vast, as mentioned in the previous review, and the staff are more than happy to give you advice on what would be most appropriate for your intended purpose. Unfortunately due to my budget constraints, I left with the smallest rose available... but a pleasant experience nonetheless.

They do beautiful displays of flowers immediately outside the shop, and in the windows. For me, the reason to go here. Chocolate! Harvest Garden is the only Scottish, if not UK stockist of Laura Secord. These are gorgeous chocolates that I first had in Canada. Beware, these are not cheap! In season, they sell chocolate figs. These are handmade in someone's house in Spain. Basically, it is a fresh fig that has chocolate fondant in the middle, then they are foil wrapped. That description could never do them justice though. I am always guaranteed to find what I want here for birthdays, christmas etc. There is a good range of chocolate stocked, and a price to suit all pockets. I haven't made it to the handmade chocolate counter yet though.....

Christine, the owner, is such a hospitable person. I'm using a cane due to a knee injury, and she was so helpful in offering a chair and reaching items on the lower shelf of the display cabinet. Her shop is filled with vintage jewelry, porcelain, clothes, and other intriguing goodies. Not to mention Bon Bon, her sweet elderly pug! We had a nice visit, and I left with quite a few treasured pieces of antique Scottish jewelry. Turns out I jumped to a half-awake conclusion and confused myself. They are in fact a Jack of all Trades second hand kind of store, selling a majority of clothing for well-to-do ladies. The odd cute brooch turns up in here for time to time, and on the last occasion I stopped by there was a wicker chair, fit for a king, sitting by their door. They have a lot of faux Venetian glass bead jewellery at the moment, being sold at 2 for £8. The owner is very helpful and you often see locals popping in for a chat with her. They have a fetching vintage rail which is impressively packed with old fur coats from the 40s. Some of the fur is synthesied so you can rest easy knowing you're not buying a dead animal (sorry fashionistas, I'm not a fan of the real thing) but the coats are beautifully soft and still hold their former glamour. Sequinned cocktail dresses geared towards stylish women in their 40s aren't really my thing. And in parts, some of the style offerings struck me as outdated. But if you're looking for a cheaper option for out of season high end fashion that's well-pressed and in good condition, then stop by for a look. It's open most days till five for your perusal.
