    Le petit poutine (satisfying).
    Aerin A.

Note my rating is for the regular poutine only !!! Came here twice when I was in Québec city last week because it was on of the only places open at 3am . To note While there are a lot of cool pubs in QC that stay open late most of their kitchens close at 11pm so please keep that in mind . After doing a quick google search I found this place which was popping early Sunday morning at 3am . I ordered a petit poutine and it was everything I had hoped for and more . After trying this place I truly believe that poutine in QC is better than Montréal as this place is probably at best mediocre for QC and yet was better than any of the highly recommended places I tried in Montréal including La Banquiste and even the coveted Foie Gras Poutine at Au Pied de Cochon. Other tips ( not reflected in my review / rating ) - I would avoid ordering any of the sandwiches ( including the bacon cheeseburger ) . They are a bit overpriced and small . Also if you still want to order something like the club sandwich make sure to arrive well before 10pm as it is not offered after 10. I was informed that their menu changes drastically for late night dining and is quite limited .

No fuss no frills snack joint. Quick service, food is good for the price. Classic poutine was good, sugar pie was obviously sugary.

Operates like a fast food restaurant in that you order at the counter then grab a table to eat from. We came for late night one night as we were craving some poutine. FYI if you do, they increase the price very slightly for late night. Line moved fast and we were able to pretty quick. Overall the food is ... fine? Probably there are better poutine places and definitely there are better burger places but for late night it's fine, no complaints

So happy to find a late spot eats in Quebec City. Open until 4am! Menu is a mix of burgers, poutine, fried foods, onion rings are huge and look amazing! Super quick turnaround in kitchen. Decent food, friendly staff, good prices. Can even grab a Molson beer with your meal. Will definitely be back when hungry late at night!

I got recommended to this spot as one of the local's favorite spot to enjoy some poutine. And I have to admit, I was skeptical about it after trying poutines from numerous chains, thinking it may not be my thing. But wow! I really enjoyed the poutine from this spot! I got the Dulton Poutine under their Les Classiques!list. It was delicious! It tasted like American chili on top of a regular poutine. The onion, ground beef, tomato, cheese, and fries were so flavorful! The wow factor goes especially towards the cheese! I was surprised how different cheese curds tasted compared to the other places. A nice snack accompanied with a simple Canadian beer. A can of beer is $3.50 with purchase! I also got the sugar pie (tarte au sucre maison). Note that I am someone that doesn't go for sweets, and has a high sensitivity towards sweets. I like mildly sweet things (0% boba sweetness level) if I had to go to dessert spots. The sugar pie (tarte au sucre maison) is something that tasted like pure sugar in a pie crust! I'll NOT recommend the sugar pie! It tasted like a pie filled with caramelized sugar! Pure sugar at it's finest! If you are into eating pure sugar, this might be for you, but I would highly recommend to avoid this item if you're a normal human!

Note: My star rating is for the poutine only. The one thing I like about this place is the vibe. It's just really chill and it's a great place to drink a beer and have a poutine. Plus, the staff made an impression and are friendly. The poutine looks impressive and it's decent. I found it a little salty for my taste though. The fries weren't for me either. They may be for other people, as other's seem to love this place. I really prefer the poutine at Frites Alore. I liked the smaller fries that are crispier. You also get a huge portion. Which some may think is a positive. I think it's a little too much , even though it's a cool visual, as I'm the type to clean his plate. Also, fries are the type of food where left overs won't taste good. They do have other things on the menu. So based on the atmosphere it may be worth a try. I may the other stuff another try if I have the chance. Again all my QC reviews are from PreCovid in Feb 2020. So things may have changed.

Hi friends! If you've noticed, I've including information about outdoor seating - given the times we live in, that's important to know! It does not factor into my rating of the food. Patio There are two tiny tables outside the snack bar. It's great place to people watch! There are more tables to eat at inside the snack bar - after you order and pay at the counter. Food I love poutine and having grown up in Montreal, I know my poutine! I was happy with the poutine from Saint Jean Snack Bar. The potatoes were thick, fresh cut and nicely fried to a golden brown. The sauce was golden brown, light umami in flavour, vegetarian and the right consistency - not too thick or thin. We got a good amount of cheese curds but they weren't as squeaky as I like. I wanted Jalapeño poppers but sadly, they were out. So, we had the macaroni and cheese croquettes instead. They tasted exactly like Kraft Dinner deep fried into crunchy triangles - yum! Visit again? Yes! If I'm in the area, I would definitely eat here again. I love casual snack bars and a good poutine with vegetarian gravy is always a yes for me!

The food was hot, tasty, and generously portioned. Just the thing you'd want to warm you up on a cold day.

    Poutine steak haché
    Stephanie S.

I ordered the poutine steak haché which means they serve the traditional poutine of gravy, cheese curds and french fries with what I thought would be ground beef. In stead, it's sliced hamburger. The poutine overall was of high quality, which is why it costs a bit more than a chain fast food poutinerie (yes I think I just made that word up). The fries were awesome: fresh cut and fried per order. The gravy was typical poutine gravy and the cheese curds were super fresh, with that squeaky texture any curd head loves. I was expecting the burger to be ground and not sliced and it wasn't seasoned, which made it a bit bland and that's why I can't really give it more stars. Had I ordered some of the other varieties on the menu, that might not have been the case. I guess I just need to come back. The petite portion was right size and I probably could have ordered a mini. Food came out fairly fast, considering there were 20 of us. Overall a good eatery with service until 5am for those who want to avoid a hangover. :)

Very quick and tasty option for some good poutine. I also got the tart au sucre, which was fine, but the poutine had plenty of cheese curds, and I was very satisfied.

+ I had a "regular" poutine. The poutine was very good, especially for the fries and cheese. The sauce could be improved but overall it was a very satisfying. I really liked the decor. Very casual. - Service was a little slow given the fact that there was only one visible employee the evening I went.

Dinner #2...ok I guess more like a snack. A heavy and yummy snack at that! Our friends came here the night before because apparently it's open super late! I can see why this would be a hit for the drunk crowd and hungry crowds. Very hip little joint with wooden furniture. You order at the cashier then find a table and wait for your number to be called. I ordered the side of fries with the meat sauce...still not sure what the actual name is. Other ordered the Fried Mac N Cheese and different types of Poutine. Portions here are HUGE! Don't be fooled by the size of the tray, they will stack it to the highest it can go! My order of fries and meat sauce were AMAZING! It reminded me of a Sloppy Joe sauce over fries. I WAS thinking of ordering the burger, but based on other reviews, I was too scared. Besides, can't screw up an order of Fries! hehe.

Steak and onion poutine (regular size) and poutine (small) $25

After arriving in the city, we ordered a regular steak and onion poutine and a small poutine. The wait was about 20 minutes. Restaurant was clean and the patio had loads of seating. Staff were friendly and bilingual. Poutine was squeaky and savoury $25 for both.

Good snack place! Relaxed atmosphere. The regular poutine was good but the one with meat sauce was even better! Solid choice

The passing trays looked amazing but we couldn't find seating to save our lives so we struck out to look for another location nearby. You start with a base: quinoa, rice, bulgur, fries (poutine), or lettuce. You choose a number of chicken tenders in one or two flavors, then choose from a variety of toppings. The staff here *understandably* is not great in English, which can of course change depending on where you go and when you come. This was one of our first stops before my high school/college French instruction "clicked on" again, so ordering was mildly stressful for our family. It would have been nice if there were some pre-designed bowl recipes to select from (like Cava, for example). For those of you willing to play the language barrier game, the sky is the limit in terms of how you can personalize your bowl. Like every Quebecois dining establishment, this fast food chain is head and shoulders above any American equivalent. Even their poutine (which can be messed up, I assure you) was among the top poutines I've eaten. This is a great place to grab a quick meal, as light or heavy as you require.
