Fun quirky staff who will make you a smoothie to suit your needs be it sweet and fruitful or seriously green. Fresh organic ingredients are the hallmark of all their products. Homemade baked good and fresh bananas too

It's a beautiful day in the Bay Area and nothing makes a stroll around Lake Merritt better than a healthy, organic, and delicious smoothie. Smoothie Operator food truck was conveniently parked on the Lake and was offering an array of healthy organic smoothies. Gravity and Pillar, the two women operating the smoothie truck were kind, approachable, and customer focused. We ordered two Berry Blasts smoothies and they did not disappoint. The smoothies come in a 16 oz cup and were full of flavor and vitality. There were eight to ten (8-10) different smoothie options and a few choice food options like Avocado Toast for sale. Each smoothie was $9.00 so they were in line with the cost of a regular smoothie. When we approached the truck, Gravity explained that the card teacher was down and they could only take cash. I smiled and obliged. Gravity even offered me a free smoothie on my next visit for the inconvenience! That's great customer service. Definitely worth checking out.

I got a mango lasso and it tasted amazing and wholesome. Didn't get a sugar crash afterwards. The truck tempted me when I went out to Lake Merritt to work out. 10/10 would fall for temptation again.

Yuck! Weird bitter banana taste, fruit used in smoothie couldn't have been good quality or fresh. Avoid.

Someone with me ordered their burger and forgot to ask for it to be gluten free, and they remade the whole thing, no questions asked! There's also clean bathrooms (code 2000# on July 2, 2026) and a soothing water feature. There's indoor and outdoor seating (booths inside and tables outside). In the evening time, the outdoor seating is in the shade.

Those of you that know me already know that I am a big time meat eater. But I am always open to soy protein and impossible meat options. This takes me to the Arden neighborhood of Sacramento where I had the opportunity to try out "RAW Superfood Cafe". Located in the Howe Bout Arden shopping center, this place has been opened since early-2024 while replacing the once popular "CREAM" which was a surprise since they did not last long in this busy outdoor strip mall. Prior to coming here, I've already heard of RAW Superfood Cafe as they have 3 locations in the Bay Area; San Jose, Milpitas, and San Jose; and 2 locations in the Sacramento area; Elk Grove and this one that I am reviewing. I ended up coming here during the afternoon on Friday 6/5/2026 at around 5:15pm. The inside area is very bright, cheerful, and lively with a few tables with leather booth-seating, bamboo wood paneling, and fake grass with the business name aligned to it. Additionally, there is a large digital kiosk where you can place your order and pay using a card or smartphone. The specialty here are their blended and layered bowls which offer a huge assortment of customizable creations. This is where you can choose a base (for example, açaí, mango, dragonfruit, etc.) while picking various toppings (nuts, fruits, coconut chips, etc.) and finishing it off with a drizzle of vanilla, chocolate, or anything you might be craving. However, they also offer a vast amount of smoothies, protein shakes, wellness drinks, blended and iced coffee beverages, and even a respectable amount of food. When I say food, this just isn't a couple items; this is more a few dozen food items to choose from. Everything from various sandwiches, burgers, breakfast toasts, bagels, salads, and soups. Since I was craving an actual meal/drink, I went with their "Bánh Mì Sandwich" (priced at $13.95). This sandwich consisted of house Asian sauce, caramelized onions, pickled daikon, carrots, cilantro, mayo, jalapeño, and cucumber. I paired this a refreshingly cold-pressed Calamansi juice (priced at $5.50). I ordered this exclusively on the kiosk and paid for it digitally via-Apple Pay. Within 5-7 minutes, my drink and food was ready for pickup. I am quite picky about my Bánh Mì Sandwiches but for them to substitute this with vegan meat was an absolute win-win for me. The 'meat' was well-seasoned, tender, and packed with flavor while the bread was soft and made to perfection. Even my drink hit the spot on a seasonably warm 94°F day. I thoroughly enjoyed this while dining inside a very clean, sterile, and bright interior while the employees were absolutely friendly and accommodating. With that said and done, I am giving the Arden "RAW Superfood Cafe" a perfect and unanimous five-star rating.

It's the perfect salty pairing with the sweet flavors of the Moreno coffee--always my go-to drink. Unfortunately the bread was sold out when I went this time (but that's how you know how good it is)! The shop is tucked inside a cute neighborhood and only a few steps away from Southside Park, which makes a nice place to grab coffee and walk around. Tupi is definitely worth exploring!

Tupi Coffee's menu is very versatile and they offer many things. What brought me here are the Brazilian baked goods and they did not disappoint! They look small, but they are very filling. I shared the 4 pictured goods with my partner and we were both stuffed by the end of it. If you try anything at all, try the coxinha (but I urge you to try everything) So delicious! The coffee is pretty good. Latte is on the sweeter side. The Moreno is very sweet but pretty yummy! I don't find myself ordering coffee very much anymore, but I wanted to try it since it's traditional Brazilian (and well, it's a Brazilian place). It was very busy since the rooftop was host to a plethora of different events. Overall, a beautiful place home to various communities where you can connect. So beautiful!

But now that I'm trying to live a "healthier lifestyle", I thought I'd give this place a try after the gym one day. This is a quick walk from the 24 hour fitness down the plaza so it was not hard to get here for me. I'm not sure if they validate parking, but you can park in the garage next to 24 fitness or the garage by the movie theaters if you need to find close parking. When I got here, they were going to close shop in about 10 minutes. I skimmed the menu quickly and decided to get the power bowl since I wanted some protein and a healthier option post workout. I did ask to sub blueberries with bananas (so I got all bananas) and asked for a scoop of almond butter instead of a sizzle. The lone worker was able to accommodate me. Speaking of worker, the lone worker here was great. She was friendly and accommodated my slight modifications with no issues. She made the bowl nice as well. Inside the shop, it is small and there is very limited seating. But you can take your bowl with you and eat it around doco, which I think is the better option unless it's hot. The bowl itself was great. It tasted fresh and the fruit was good. I like the crunch from the granola and nuts and the scoop of a almond butter added great texture and flavor. The banana was good as well. Acai fresh in Davis is still my #1 bowl, but this is still a great alternative. I'll make time to come back, maybe after another gym session.
