Utterly fantastic! This is located near the Outback Steakhouse, Mezeh, and Nando's att Laurel Town Center. There was no wait in line, the cashier was friendly and helpful and competent on the register, the smoothies were made quickly, and the taste of both was phenomenal! I got the 20 oz smoothie, which is ample for one adult. The customer service is on point! All three employees greeted me, acknowledged me, and/or thanked me, which is super nice. Since I was shopping in the area, I tried this location. I ordered my usual smoothie. The ordering process was smooth and efficient. I had a coupon for $3 off that disappeared from my app, but I had another coupon for $2 off, so it still worked out. My smoothie was good with the right consistency and flavor. It was not watered down, but also not too thick to sip through the straw. This location was very clean and neat and did not have that overpowering smell of bleach in the air that some locations sometimes do. The staff member incorrectly charged me for my order which was supposed to be a 20 oz. smoothie and was charged for a 32 oz. When I asked if the difference for the the correct order would be placed back on my card he nervously said "yes." Checked my credit card statement and no such thing happened. On top of that, I wasn't asked if I wanted to add anything to my order and I had to remind him that I wanted extra protein. To make matters worse, he made the smoothie too thick and it did not taste right. Hopefully I can speak to management and see what can be done about this. Edit: I was successfully able to contact management and the issue was resolved, but word to the wise, I shouldn't have had to do all of this. While I think the service can be at times slow and that they've forgotten an ingredient or 2 once or twice, the employees are nice and mostly the smoothie's taste great (just wish there were some more fresh fruit and veggie options). Just attempted to walk in this establishment. I was told by an "employee" who was off that they closed early today. I called at 8:27 to say I was on my way, but didn't want my smoothie melting. Today is Saturday March 5, 2022 and the two hustling sweet young ladies working at 11:30 am are complete examples of professionalism. They're unexpectedly really busy and prior to my arrival an impatient customer was apparently unkind. However when I was there these two ladies were keeping the line moving with smiles and accurate orders. In fact the entire place full of 12 customers gave them a round of applause and they absolutely deserved it. The manager needs to staff more people this time of day now that the pandemic is easing. I frequent this location at least twice a week. The service is always great. I am always asked if I would like to add any enhancements. The smoothies are pretty consistent in texture and taste. The team working here is young but they are all professional. This location is on the route I take to get to work so I usually call in my order and it's Always ready when I get there - thank you Anthony :). I would also like to highlight the work of Dante, Britney and Caitlin. I came scurrying in recently at 8:55 pm after my gym workout and the team welcomed me in even though they were cleaning and preparing to close in 5 minutes. Yesterday I came into the Laurel location for the smoothie 32oz $5 Friday special! I wanted to get the chocolate-peanut butter smoothie but I asked to get it without the protein enhancement supplement but was told I had to pay $6 because of the enhancement. I found this odd. Here I am saving the smoothie king franchise money by omitting the enhancement because I don't like how it makes my drink taste and instead I got harassingly nudged by an employee who I think was the manager to buy the $6 smoothie because it would be saving me money! It's definitely not saving me money! Instead it would be forcing me to pay an extra .50 for a drink that's priced for the same enhancement I wanted not to have included in my drink! On top of that the manager then becomes smug and starts to ask the cashier if he's ok several times...indirectly saying I may be a problem! And then the manager went on to make my smoothie which was not filled completely and very watery unlike any chocolate peanut butter smoothie I've received prior to this visit! I didn't want to have to complain because I didn't want it to seem like I was just trying to make a big deal out of everything. This is unfortunate because I should be able to get a fair price for a smoothie (at which I'm not getting an enhancement for), be treated with respect as a customer and not get harassed of belittled by a manger that started shouting, "I'm just trying to save YOU money"! The worst Smoothie King I have ever TRIED to go to. I've tried to get a smoothie on 2 separate occasions. Both resulted in me leaving before I could order due to a completely unacceptable wait time. SK in general is a slow process but this location is on beyond ridiculousness.Everyone involved at this location must have turtle blood running through their veins. I waited in line for 25 minutes on my first try and about 15 on my second attempt. Just to order. With only 1-2 people ahead of me. I had an appointment at the nail salon a few store fronts away from SK and asked one of the associates if she thought I'd be out of the store in the next 15 minutes to make my appt, her reply "how should I know." Well that little Turtle Queen sealed the deal for me, with a response like that, I won't be returning. The cashier informed me I could not use both promos today, but she would ask her supervisor if they would honor my free birthday smoothie another day since it was supposed to expire today. That's when I had the pleasure of meeting Tisha, the owner of this location. She was not only extremely nice and understanding, she made an exception and allowed me to use both promotions today but informed me this is a one-time thing and only because she was present. As a business owner myself, I understand there are rules put in place for a reason, but customer satisfaction is key and Tisha makes sure her customers are not only taken care of, but feel important. I could also see the dynamic with her employees and it is clear they look up to her. This is why I will keep coming to this location, even if I live 20 minutes away. Stopped by for a smoothie, when I walked in I was greeted by an employee who was cleaning, he didn't seem too happy. The first thing I noticed was that he was spraying some type of substance around an open bin of fruits, he then proceeded to mop the floor, after scoping the menu and coming to a decision on what to order the young man and another employee began making my smoothies. While making my smoothie I was hoping he would change his gloves after using the mop, unfortunately he did not. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. I don't regularly review businesses but I feel this one was necessary. My first time ever patronizing a Smoothie King was two days ago. I didn't know what to get but by reading the detailed menus, I was able to narrow my options to two. When my turn came up, I asked the cashier (who by the way served with a big smile on her face) what she thought about my two choices. She suggested the Pineapple Surf and it was the one I was leading to. She told me why I would love it and I decided it sounded like something I would like. While waiting for my smoothie to be made, I had a chance to check out the store and it was lovely. Great ambiance and EXTREMELY CLEAN. For a germaphobe like me, it is a welcome change. The young lady who made my smoothie also handed it to me with a smile as she thanked me for my business. I finally tasted the smoothie and I am now hooked. As I write this review, I am having my fourth smoothie in two days. Needless to say, their product is great. With that said, this review is about the service I have received by ALL of the associates I have come across both days. I worked in retail management for over twenty three years and finding a store full of associates who actually make clients feel good and greet clients with smiles is a difficult thing. I decided to write this review because I noticed that some people have been giving them negative reviews and I thought it was unfortunate because I'm sure that it is not all true and more like people's perceptions. The sad thing is that when we as customers and clients receive great service we do not take a few minutes just to post positive reviews but the second we feel we are slighted, we write entire books disparaging local businesses. Great job ladies and great job to the owner for finding a bunch of young adults who take pride in what they do.
