Easy ordering system by the slice, wanted a carnivore and veggie type of slice and they told us they use a base pizza and add on the toppings when the slice is ordered. It's pretty hot temperature wise in here, so definitely sweating while I wait for pizza. Said it was about a 10 minute wait when ordering a slice, but expect more like a 20min wait. We ordered the spaghetti and a Caesar salad through DoorDash. The order arrived completely smooshed. Obviously the DoorDash driver has something to do with this, but if the restaurant did better with packing, this may not have been an issue. On to the food... the spaghetti was absolutely horrible. I would complain about the tiny portion size but because it was so awful I did not want anymore. $30 for cold, bland spaghetti that taste like it's from a can, and a pathetic Caesar salad, what a rip off! This was a very disappointing experience- 1 star cuz I can't give 0. I ordered from an app for delivery. It was 1.5 hours late from the 45 min delivery time. I called and they gave me a hard time for using the app that was on their website. Really we're not helpful at all to see where and when it would be delivered. Had to call the app to get any information. Once I finally got the cold pizza- they didn't even knock on the door- dropped it on the porch and ran away. It also wasn't close to what I ordered. No GF crust, no cheese and definitely not extra cheese as ordered and paid for. Avocado salad had majorly brown avocado. When I called again, they said they would refund. I think just to get me off the phone. No refund came. Called at least 3 additional times to talk to manager. They were never available, never a call back. Terrible customer service. Not what I ordered & paid for. They admitted to doing wrong, but then failed to make it right. Super disappointed all the way around with this place. My friends brought two boxes over on a Saturday night and they were decent. Crust wasnt very fluffy as I had hoped and was dry. The flavor of the pizzas were good though. They ordered the Chaos Chicken and the Maximillian. The favorite was the Chaos Chicken because of how generous with the bbq they put and noted by one of my friends, it cohesively tasted the best. Each pizza had a decent amount of toppings, especially the Maximillian. Overall, will come back and give them another try. So so disappointing. We came here for my daughters birthday after not having ordered from Smoking Monkeh in about a year. Turns out the company was sold last year and now its absolutely disappointing. The only good thing about it was that the pepperoni pizza was smothered in pepperoni. Our other pizza we got, the Pasta pizza, was so oily and it had absolutely no flavor it was inedible. The cesar salad, although the dressing was okay, the lettuce to crouton ratio was definitely 50:50, if not more croutons than salad, for both salads! This is the first time I used your website for delivery and it went really well. I got the Blazed Bacon Cheese Sticks and the Monkey King's Feast (Barbarian) pizza The delivery was so quick; I couldn't believe it!! You guys have some of the best pizza I've had since I've left Chicago. Don't know if you know this but native Chicagoans eat thin crust pizza regularly and not the deep dish that everybody thinks is "Chicago pizza." We call that tourist pizza and only have it for special occasions and out of town guest who come to visit and want it. Natives of the Windy City eat thin crust pizza cut tavern style usually. For me to cut isn't as important as the thinnest of the crust with the right amount of sauce, cheese and toppings. You're the second place I found in the Seattle area that comes to as close to what I like in thin crust pizza and have been searching for since I moved here 39 years ago. I don't know what happened to this place. Years ago it was a wonderful restaurant with a fun atmosphere, fabulous servers and great food. Today was the total opposite. Mediocre over-priced pizza, skimpy little salad, no refills on pre-made ice tea, broken fountain drink dispenser, out of cashews for a pizza topping, so almond slivers were substituted without saying a word until we complained. Empty condiments jars, bare minimum cheap napkins, hard to reach utensils and very noisy. Sounded like some kind of construction going on in the front room. Service is terrible. Had to go get the server to take the order. After 15 minutes she decided to come to our table and we were the only customers in the place. Small container of ice water put on the table - no pouring just plop. Absolutely nothing beyond bare minimum service. And then businesses wonder why they're losing money. Pizza stands out amongst the rest. Try their tropic thunder and one of the summer special salads with watermelon or pineapple. Cheesecake was delicious too. All served with good service. read more

Reposting my google review here. My "16in Pepperoni paradise" pizza and 3 soda cans was $27.56, I gave them $50. They tried to short me on change and argued with me about the amount and that they "didn't have any more change." When in fact they had plenty of it. Their machine doesn't provide change amount but i used my calculator because it didn't seem right. Sure they tried to short me $2.44 and it's not that much but it is the principal. They gave me a $1.44 in US and another $1 in Canadian currency trying to pass it off as the same. I did get my change back in the end. Never coming back. read more

This is my second time here, and I'm pretty sure there must be new ownership, because the pizza tastes different. In ordered the "plain" because I do believe it's the best when to assess a pizza. This pizza was filled with cheese...overly cheesy...too cheesy. Some may call this "mountain pizza" because you have to climb a mountain to burn the calories off. We decided to stop by here to grab some local pizza. The dining room of the pizza shop was monkey-themed, which was pretty cool. When ordering at the counter, there were two different size options, and we got the smallest one for two people. We also had the option to do a split topping on our pizza. It was open seating, so we grabbed a table to see all the incredible monkey decorations. It took roughly 30 minutes for our pizza to come out, and based on the presentation of our pizza, it wasn't going to be that great of a taste, and I was right. Personally, the crust tasted stale and a bit overcooked. The toppings we got stood out less than we thought they would have. This is probably the best pizza shop in Renton and it's in downtown Renton lol. I got some leftovers from a friend and it was randomly good so I knew I had to actually try it fresh myself. I saw that they had a weekend pizza buffet, which I knew would be my opportunity to try a variety of their huge menu of pizzas. So went and FYI it's $18.99 for salad, pasta, and pizza. The buffet was kind of random to be honest. Not that many people know about it and for a buffet to be really good it has to be busy. Luckily, they brought out fresh pizza every time so we got to try half and halfs of different flavors. The guy bringing out the pizza would say what it was every time, but it would be helpful if there were some name tags. All the pizzas were hot and fresh for just 3 tables getting buffet. The standout to me was their spicy pepperoni because it has pepperoni cups that curl up crispy (the best kind of pepperoni). I would next time just order this pizza to go. Also, their home made ranch is good so if you order from here make sure to get some. I left super full because there is only so much pizza you can really eat. I think if more people knew about the weekend buffet it would really pop off. Mostly a lot of to go orders here, which makes sense. Also, they have home made cookies that are surprisingly good too that you should check out. Been here a couple of times during their "Monkey Hour" which is the same as Happy Hour and it's from 3-6pm, M-Thur. They have $12 pepperoni pizza and it's pretty tasty and loved by pepperoni pizza lovers. Their Monkey Hour wings are tasty too. $12 for a pitcher of beer sealed the deal. It's cheap cheap cheap! The people working here are super nice and efficient. The walls are decorated with monkey posters which are a cute touch to the place. Doesn't matter what the pizza tastes like when the service is horrible. First time, we waited 3 hours for our delivery to arrive. Second time, we did pick-up to avoid any delay, and it wasn't ready even after 90 minutes since we called it in. They said "20 minutes" over the phone. They do not know how to efficiently or effectively run a business. We have had social plans both times we've ordered from them & it has negatively affected our plans. My husband I haven't been back since 2021 simple because of bad, bad service. We thought ok let's give it a try now. First things first, one of the things that I did enjoy about Smoking Monkey was how eclectic the decor was. I loved the artwork that was in place, it was just so original. Not it's gone. Apparently there are new owners in place and all of the originality is gone. Bummer. Now there is a mural in the dining area of a cartoonish cute monkey holding onto a pizza, in the background are sailboards with pizza slice as sails and on top of the space needle is a pizza sitting there. Also the ferris wheel in Seattle is a pizza. It's cute, however the Smoking Monkey kind of doesn't work. The original decor had a definite connection with the title. Smokey was the name of the monkey in a space suit. Even his space suit with a star trek type of badge was in the shape of a pizza slice. The new owners have made a few changes also. Looks like the bar in full force in the dining room, along with a tv playing sports or whatever. There's a variety of tables in place also. The front counter has a full menu hanging down and now you can come in and buy pizza by the slice. There's a warmer in place. The choices for beer on tap was minimal, two in place Maybe they are working on this? Other drinks are in place, sodas, bottled beers. The menu is much larger now and there's pages and pages of choices with jungle animals on each page. We opted for our past favorite for an appetizer of fried cauliflower. We also ordered a side of ranch which was another favorite. Was it as good as previous times we were there? Hmm...that's debatable but it was good. The ranch has a huge amount of dill in place, it wasn't unpleasant. The order came out quickly and already had a spicy sauce that is usually in place. We ordered a pizza , Rumble in the jungle chicken ranch. Actually there are a few pizzas with the name jungle in it. But this pizza had ranch sauce, bacon, bell peppers, onion and mushrooms. It was good. The crust is a little different now and I can't put my finger on it but it was very good. The toppings are generous. The crust is not on point, I simply remember it being better. Here's my thoughts: the service has increased for the better, that's for sure. The waiter appeared to be very nervous, maybe he's new? However, it might be a good idea to have another waitress or waiter in place. There were more people coming in and because of this, it took a few attempts to get a box, along with another order of cauliflower in place. Same thing with the tab. I liked the food, it was good, did it feel like the same to me, maybe not, but this place has improved for the better. Would I go out of my way to go back, I'm not sure but I appreciate the efforts that being made. Living in Renton for over a decade I have seen Smoking Money Pizza but I have never been. Now I feel as though I have wasted time and calories on suboptimal pizzas when here, all this time, was the best pizza I have devoured in Renton. I did not eat in the restaurant so I can not tell you the tales of how that was. Next time I will and there will be a next time! We ordered pizza to go through their handy on-line app and wow was the place busy when we went to pick up! The lone lady at the counter would have benefitted from eight arms or at least two more people. People came in to buy cookies, to buy a slice, and the Door Dash drivers were in and out so frequently a revolving door should be installed! So while the pizza was done when the app indicated the lady took another 20 minutes in order to check us out due to the amount of people. I can't blame her. She was moving nonstop. By the time we got home the pizza was cold. It was too bad for that because I am not sure how it would have been piping hot out of the oven, but it was delicious! A few things caught my attention. The "wall to wall" pepperoni on the Pep Perfection is truly as advertised. It is easily the best pepperoni pizza I have ever had, even at room temp. Better when reheated! The little pepperonis were spicy and crispy. The crust somehow thin without being floppy and yet also still soft! The sauce was amazing. It was a delightful flavor explosion with every bite! Also, the person at the counter when I walked in talked soooo softly you could barely hear her and I am not hard of hearing. It was too dry to eat, limited toppings. Caesar salad was good after spending 5 minutes cutting the lettuce into bite size pieces. They give a lot of croutons, too many, may to make up for low quality and lack of flavor. I won't be back unless I hear they have new owners or cooks. Visited on Wednesday April 16th in the evening. We walked in and a worker informed us to sit anywhere. We sat down on one of the few cleaned tables, keep in mind there were about 10-13 tables and only two other parties. The rest of the tables had left over drinks and napkins. After waiting for 5 minutes the worker came to give cups and a water pitcher then proceeded to walk away without a word being said. We sat there confused on how to order and needed to look at the menu online. We noticed the other parties eating with menus on their table. After waiting 10-15 minutes no one came to inform us how to order, no menu, and no check-in to see if we needed help.
