Pulled Pork
J Warren R.

Nothing special here. The pulled pork was dry, tough and mostly tasteless. (No smoke flavor, no discernable rub). 4 different BBQ sauces from various parts of the country. The one I ordered, was not the sauce I got, way too sweet for me. The best thing going was an appetizer corn ribs with these small tasty peppers. Cole slaw was creamy and runny. Service average. Large space inside, with several local craft beers on tap. The rolling electronic board with the beers changes so frequently, it takes a long time to cycle through the selections being offered and then narrowing down your choices.

The mustard bbq sauce was amazing! We took it home and used the rest for home cooked meals. Good drink specials depending on the day. Food was ok and service was a bit slow and not especially friendly, although he did only charge us for 2 beers when we ordered three. I got a Cobb salad which didn't include bleu cheese or avocado. My partner ordered a sandwich- the menu listed Texas toast which was just normal bread. Several families at dinner all around us.l

The staff greated us outside telling us how yummy the day's specials were. We were seated promptly as they had just opened. We started with the brisket egg rolls. They had collards, brisket, black beans with a remoulade and tiny tomatoes. It was really tasty. They have a full bar and feature several moonshiner cocktails. They also have numerous craft and local beers and a nice selection of wines. I ordered the special of the day brisket Philly cheesesteak. My husband ordered the brisket plate with slaw and Mac n cheese. Honestly, the Philly cheesesteak was more of a po boy. The bread just couldn't handle the meat. I ended up eating it with a fork. I had the Brussels as my side. They were fried and bitter - not my favorite. The sandwich juices made the piece of wax paper dissolve on the metal "tray/plate". The brisket was a little dry. But the spicy Texas sauce helped with that. Honestly I think the paper it was served on soaked up much of the juices. The Mac n cheese was bland. It needs seasoning. My husband enjoyed the slaw. They make their corned beef in house. I'll try that when we venture back over. The chicken sandwich looked good as well. The portions were appropriate. Don't expect left overs. You get one free sauce. Extras are 75c each. They are owned by Wings and Fish.

Corn ribs were very interesting and flavorful, must try! The food was great just a little overpriced.

The food was good. Flavorful. Albeit pricey. In what world are fries an up charge? Not the best oysters. But might try again.

For me, customer service matters. Lucca's went above and beyond for my family today with their…read moreservice. I was in the area visiting my mom and grandparents. My grandfather is on hospice and is close to the ends while my mom and grandma have been taking care of him. On Mother's Day, we visited to help and had a pretty rough day. Before we left, we wanted to give my mom and grandma a nice meal for Mother's Day. We called in two ribeyes with potatoes, salad and bread. I did ask if they could take extra care of the order and explained our situation so they knew how important this meal was. Not only was the absolute perfection, they made sure we had extra bread and butter, not just a small piece for them to split. The attention to detail to make sure this important meal was able to transport and still be perfect was something that many restaurants don't do without a request, but you can tell that they give this level of detailed attention to every order. Inside the restaurant, we watched as they took the same level of care with every dish. This level of customer service alone is enough to warrant return business. The quality of the food is an added bonus at that point. 10/10 go here if you are in the area!

We tried Luca Italian Chophouse for dinner on Good Friday. Our stuffed banana pepper appetizer was excellent, with 3 large and moderately spicy peppers stuffed with sweet Italian sausage, served with a tomato sauce and topped with Ricotta. It was a very tasty appetizer. We split a small pizza for dinner. It was about 10" as specified with a fair amount of crust. The pizza crust was a little yeasty for my taste, but it was very good and I liked the crispy crust bottom. Toppings were generous and were of good quality. It was plenty for two people. Emboldened by the first two courses, we tried the cheesecake with caramel sauce for dessert. It turned out to be a small individual cheesecake about 4" in diameter topped with strawberries and caramel. It was OK but over priced at $14. The crust was too soft and flavorless although the cheesecake itself wasn't bad. The strawberries weren't of the best quality and should have been left off. The restaurant is definitely going for the upscale Italian feel and generally succeeds. Our server was friendly and very helpful, but was exceedingly slow. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised with Luca Italian Chophouse. It's definitely worth a try and we will probably eat there again the next time we're in the area. And by the way, the Easter Bunny was making its way down Main Street as we pulled out of the parking lot
