When we were unsure, Mr. DiMaggio had kind advice and suggestions, and when there was a difference between what we wanted and what was actually feasible, Mr.DiMaggio both explained the difficulty and found the right solution. Staff was present but completely unobtrusive during the wake - they were immediately there to see to any needs, but not hovering or intruding. I have also attended other funerals at Par-Troy and have seen that same level of care and compassion each time. At one funeral, the drive to the cemetery would take us on a toll road and Mr. DiMaggio offered anyone without an Easy Pass toll money from his own pocket to ensure everyone who wanted to attend graveside services could. It has been years since my experience planning a funeral, but I think of the DiMaggio family fondly for their help at a difficult time. Since that time I have attended other funerals there and I see them delivering the same excellent care to my friends and family members.

They had a TV for photo memories and small tables scattered around and easels to allow for photo books and photo displays for memories. A small water fountain with water dispenser right beside that needed to be refilled sat by the stairs. Some of the elderly had to be helped with the entry steps, I'm not sure if they have a handicap entrance available on the other side that I missed. I'm not sure this was originally designed as a funeral home, it felt almost more like a home that had been renovated to fit the funeral at some point due to the design inside. Or maybe that was their point? Was here for the funeral of an educator and parking was scarce in the lot, fortunately the family had notified the town for a police officer so they could help direct the traffic in front. Many students and teachers came, and parking was filled up on the street for blocks around. The line extended well out to the corner of the street, but the funeral home was kind to keep allowing folks to come in even though it was well past the end 8:00 p.m. time for the viewing. No photos, as I felt it would be inappropriate here. As I did not interact with the staff, I would highly recommend a visit before making any decisions.

Initially upon dealing with this guy, he came off as polite just to reel me into signing papers to getting him paid. That was by far the most horrible choice I could've made! As if my sisters passing wasn't enough, dealing with this person has been beyond traumatizing! I would highly recommend anybody facing the unfortunate circumstances of having to plan a cremation or burial, DO NOT GO HERE!! I just called to follow up on a necklace I ordered to have my sisters ashes put into it, a $200 necklace by the way, that I ordered January 11th, I believe. Dominick said it would take 7-10 days to receive my necklace, I still do not have it. I called today and he yelled "your sister hasn't even been DEAD a full month and you're already calling me when I told you the necklace was on back order!!!!" Please, please! Help me spread the word and help another family avoid having to go through this with these people!
