We noticed Katana's appetite was dropping off a bit, but she still drank water, played like a puppy and seemed ok except for her appetite. We came back home to Roswell and she started having some problems with her potty routine and still her appetite so my sister recommended going to her vet Cielo Grande. I called and explained my concerns and her behavior and they immediately let me know that the issue wasn't serious and most pets who travel for the first time on long trips may experience these issues, but said if she still exhibits symptoms to bring her in. I ended up bringing her in on a Friday with walk in hours that they have and this vet office was pretty busy, but that made me feel more at ease as it shows that people come here and trust this vet office with their fur babies. The front desk was very patient and helped me get Katana into their system as this was her first visit there and we are from out of state. We saw Dr Sierra and she ordered some tests and thankfully Katana didn't have any parasites, she just had upset stomach from traveling, environment changes and food changes. She explained thoroughly everything and we went home with a medication that will help Katana feel better and get her back on track. I appreciated the care they took with the first step of getting us checked in all the way to the end of the visit. Thank you to all the staff there that cared so much and treated us like family from the get go. This will be the place we go for our pets anytime we are here in Roswell New Mexico. Thanks Cielo Grande, we appreciated all you did to calm our nerves and help our pup feel better.

Today, while we were traveling from Albuquerque to here, he suddenly threw up and immediately went lethargic. When we arrived at the campground, the manager recommended we contact y'all. Your website states, "At College Garden Animal Hospital, we know that emergencies tend to happen when you least expect them, and that is why we have an 'on call' doctor available for you. In the case of an emergency after business hours, on the weekends, even during the holidays, simply call our hospital number and instructions will follow. One of our skilled veterinarians will assist you with your emergency. College Garden Animal Hospital does charge an emergency fee, which will be added to the services provided." When we called your office, we were instructed (by your voicemail system) to call Calsbad Animal Hospital, which we did. They won't see us because we are not a current client! In the meantime, he has thrown up again, bile and blood! We have NOWHERE to turn! This is NOT how you show assistance (not to mention humanity) in an emergency!

I took my 2 year old cat to them since he wasn't eating and had been throwing up. Went the first time, they gave him something for nausea which came out to 203. Then took him a second time. They took X-rays and said that his intestines were inflamed. Proceeded to make a bill plan of 2,580.79 dollars to preform surgery on him. Took him to another vet for a second opinion. The doctor there said that he doesn't have inflamed intestines but that actually it was his kidney's and that my cat doesn't need surgery. He did blood work, gave us medication and food for under 300. As a pet parent that doesn't have very much money, I tell the vets that. One was super happy to help us and the other just wanted to take our money and run. Please do your research about what you think could be wrong with your friend and get second opinions!

Irene genuinely cares about where her dogs end up and takes the time to understand both the dogs and the people adopting them. She has an incredible instinct for matching the right dog with the right home, which makes all the difference with a breed like the Malinois. Owning a Malinois is not a decision that should be taken lightly!!! They are incredibly intelligent, high energy dogs that require patience, structure, training, and a lot of love. What impressed me most about Ruidoso Malinois was not only how well cared for the dogs are, but how much emphasis is placed on preparing the owners as well. Irene and her staff make sure you have the tools, knowledge, and confidence needed to handle and understand these amazing dogs. The trainers and staff are excellent, and it is obvious the caretakers form real personal bonds with the dogs. When I brought mine home, they even rushed out to say goodbye, which really showed how much they truly care. I loved my first dog from Ruidoso Malinois so much that I ended up getting a second. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

After hearing about Hank's training and temperament we immediately agreed he was the one for us and headed down to NM. We loved our stay in the Ruidoso area and meeting our new dog. The training they offered was rewarding and informative. They worked with us individually to ensure we were both comfortable handling such a powerful and intelligent boy. Knowing we had another Malinois waiting for us at home, both Irene and our trainer worked with us on how to slowly introduce them to each other in the home to ensure they respected each other. We followed their suggested slow pace and specific instructions to a tee and they are the very best of friends now! Hank is an absolutely wonderful dog and We adore him. People stop us almost daily to ask about him. ( Did I mention how gorgeous he is?) We also do dog sports with him. He is highly ranked both state and nation wide in barn hunt. As well as being a highly competitive and driven dog, he is a well-mannered and loyal family pet. He is very civilized and even tempered in public, but is also a very serious and formidable looking dog. We want to thank Irene for matching us up with this wonderful boy. He is arguably the best dog we've ever had. While we don't even want to think about this, when the time comes that we are looking for another dog, Irene will be our first call.
