Smith & Hassler is one of the better personal injury law firms firms out there. Their attorneys stay involved. given how huge Houston Texas is this matter. after the car accident I ended up dealing with a concussion, which honestly made everything harder than I expected. Between the headaches, brain fog, and trying to keep up with insurance, it was a lot to handle. Worth it to work with them. read more

I had such a wonderful experience with Smith and Hassler. I lost my husband in a car accident and when I called Smith and Hassler I was in a bad place. Brian Stansell was a joy to work with. He answered all of my questions and helped me through the whole process. Even when I thought I was bothering him he encouraged me to reach out if I needed anything. Everyone was super nice and the office is beautiful. I recommend them to everyone. read more

If you're looking for someone to be proactive and communicate with you on your case, this is not the firm to go with. My case should be an open and shut case! Literally video proof the wreck wasn't my fault. I called a few weeks ago having an emotional breakdown, talked to the assistant begging for help and yet here we are 2 weeks later and crickets..... This law firm has done literally nothing for me in 3 months!! read more

Contacted Smith and Hassler in July due to a car accident. I wrote a Google Review and notated in the comment section "NO CONTACT" poor communication. The following afternoon, I received a call from the office and boy was he upset. He stated that he read the Google review and that was the reason he was reaching out. Instead of listening he decided that he no longer wanted to represent me. I asked if he was upset because of the review, and he stated "this is how I feed my family. I am glad that he chose to release me. If you can't take honest and constructive criticism, you should not be in business. RUN DON'T USE THIS ATTORNEY OFFICE. All communication and contact were initiated by me. read more

I had a trip and fall accident ... I ended up here because they were the only lawfirm in Houston area that I personally had reached out to and were opened and concerned about my case! Here I am 2 1/2 years later (covid helped prolong) ... the whole firm is very professional and has great communication! I highly recommend them. My attorney at the end was Cordell and I feel like God gave me him as a blessing! He fought for me! He made sure I was taken care of! All around blessed. I selected S&H to represent me after a motor vehicle collision in 2013 where I was rear ended. Daragh Carter was assigned to my case and from the very start it was clear that he was 100% focused on guiding me through the process and ensuring that the outcome would cover all my medical bills and damages. Every exchange with Daragh and his team was always very pleasant and compassionate, including checking up on me as I had to have procedures done on my back. After an initial settlement, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had continued to push on my case and I received a final settlement that now truly covers all my medical, and outstanding losses. It feels so good to put this accident behind me thanks to their hard work and support. I'm so glad I selected Smith and Hassler to represent me and I recommend them 100%! read more

I simply can't say enough good things about the law firm of Smith and Hassler, and particularly about Daragh Carter. My daughter and son-in-law were seriously injured two years ago in an automobile accident. Because of my daughter and son-in-law's injuries, it became the responsibility of her sister, father and myself to research and initially interview lawyers on their behalf. We were fortunate to find two law firms that stood out, but Daragh was ultimately who we all chose to trust. We have never for a moment regretted that decision. His representation on their behalf was unmatched in the research, knowledge, and skill he provided. Because of the hard work of Daragh Carter and the commitment of Smith and Hassler, things turned out favorably for them. I highly recommend your consideration of Smith and Hassler if you are in need of a personal injury law firm. read more

I am 68, retired veteran. I had a acute trauma, automobile wreck; December 2016. While in recovery, I ask my daughter (an accountant) who she would recommend. Her BBF worked in a law firm, said they did not do that type of representation. Though would have someone from their office contact someone, they highly recommended. Shortly there after, I was contacted by phone; Attorney Daragh Carter. From the very beginning, he made me feel at ease; was more concerned with my recovery. Ask for everything I could remember and my daughter for any additional information. From this initial unique contact and the referral..I excepted Daragh Carter and his firm to represent me. MAY I SAY: BEST DECISION IN MY LIFE!! Daragh was 100% focused on guiding me through the process and ensuring that the outcome would cover all my medical bills and damages. Every exchange with Daragh and his team was always very pleasant and compassionate, including checking up on me as I had to have procedures done on my legs, lungs and head.. and outside tests. With their (3d party professional expert assessments and evaluations), I was overwhelmingly surprised to find that they had continued to push on my case, for maximum compensation. I received a $1,000,000 (million) dollar settlement, that covered all my medical, and outstanding losses. It feels so good to put this accident behind me! Thanks to their hard work and support; my personal payout was $536,000. I'm so glad I selected Smith and Hassler to represent me and I recommend them 100%! PS: If, available ask for Attorney Daragh Carter. #1,then some!! read more

Smith & Hassler is an exceptional law firm. All of the attorneys are great mentors. Attorney Brent Cordell has taught me more than most of my law professors at University of Houston Law Center, followed closely by Attorneys Daragh Carter and Brian Stansell. Attorney Daragh Carter is not only an attorney at Smith & Hassler but was also an adjunct professor at University of Houston Law Center. Attorney Brian Stansell imparts a wealth of knowledge learned on both sides of litigation. I chose Smith and Hassler to represent me in my case against a large retail store where the employee ran me down. After contacting two other law firms, S&H were the only lawfirm that were open and concerned about my case! The level of professionalism and curtesy were most welcome! They will leave you sitting in the courtroom for hours while they take their sweet time doing who knows what, when you call the office they act shocked that the lawyer isn't there. Avoid at all cost! read more

Smith and Hassler will abandon you!! Please avoid at all costs. At 1st they were vey nice regarding my accident case (injury only they didn't car about property damage) but as the other drivers insurance got tough Smith and Hassler got rude and treated me as a problem instead of a client that trusted them. I was hit by an 18 wheeler so I suppose they saw easy $$ but when it got tough I would call weekly (once a week) for an update and never get a call back. My car was banged up for over a month until I shelled out $2000 and fixed it on my own due to very unsafe driving conditions. The other insurance company found a petty loophole to place 51% liability on me which is fine but Smith and Hassler never even had the decency to let me know this nor have they ever contacted me to say they will no longer proceed with my case. NOTHING at all. The other drivers insurance company told me the results and seemed shocked herself that my own lawyers hadn't even informed me. This review is not becaue I am upset with the decision of liability because that is fine with me. The worst part of this whole ordeal is Smith and Hasslers complete disregard of someone they called a client. Again, avoid at all costs, find a lawyer who cares. read more
