Had some work work done on tooth and was told I will probably need it capped which is fine, so they did some temporary work to hold it over for now, there was no information given to me at the time. A few days later It started to ache and was getting progressively worse, so I tried to get it looked at and they did squeezed me in, but did nothing but look at it. Few days later more pain worse then before, I tried to get it looked at again and was told there's no avaiable room there all booked up, I phoned twice and was then told to go to emergency.
Eventually out of desperation I phoned Varma which told me they could look at it, 45 min later I'm in a dental chair at Varmas five stars for that. He told me that the temporary filling was impacting on the nerve and the tooth was infected, he did a partial root canal and got me the antibiotics and pain killers I needed for my tooth. By the way, It was his fourth emergency that day he had looked at.
This was on Dec 23 and smili will be closed until the new year, so if Varma had not helped out, I would have been suffering with a painful infected tooth for a week through Xmas and the New Year not a pleasant thought.
What I don't understand how smili makes no room for emergencies and dont back up or have no back up for problems that happen at there establishment.
By the way it takes weeks if not months to get appointment at smili.
The receptionist though pleasant seemed to be full of excuses why I could not get my tooth looked at and put me on a list for a dentist in case they got a cancelation, and then eventually told me to go to the hospital.
There motto is - rate your pain from 1 to 10 - Apparently 8 is not good enough to have it looked at. read more
