I never review anything on line, but when it comes to the safety of children, this is very important for parents to know.
A kindergartener was left outside in the morning. Apparently, the staff called twice to go in and didn't notice she was missing until a parent brought her back to the daycare about 5 minutes later. When the owner was asked about it, the response was basically that the staff did their job and that it was the fault of the kindergartener who did not go in. I guess it's too hard to do a head count or walk around the playground to make sure they have everyone. What were they going to do in the future to make sure this doesn't happen again? Anyone under grade 2 is not allowed out anymore. In other words, the younger children are getting punished because the paid adults who are supposed to be supervising the children can't manage all of them. Are there many more incidents that I'm not aware of?
I highly recommend calling daycare licensing at 604- 507-5426 and asking them how many complaints they have gotten (I filed an official one) and go check out the daycare one day. If you like what you see, great! If you're not happy, you'll save yourself a lot of worry but not enrolling your children here. I took my child out of a different daycare because she had to get bussed in. That daycare offered a lot more activities, their staff were happy and friendly, and they were about the same price.
I also remember when I was trying to enrol my daughter, the owner kept trying to get me to write a check but she took forever to answer my questions about spring break and summer vacation. On professional development days, there needs to be a minimum of ten children signed up or it's closed. As well, you're paying extra for these days if you aren't full time. I believe it was the same for spring break.
By far, the best thing about this daycare is the location. From one parent to another, please do your research before registering your child. read more
