Sadly, a very bad experience. After calling to see if they took our insurance and being told they…read moredid, we went in for cleanings for our 2 kids. We then received a bill for almost $800. I called and Rosie, the financial gal, said to ignore the bill and wait for our insurance to be billed, although the bill stated that insurance had been billed and this was our portion to pay. Seemed weird. Fortunately we did receive anther smaller bill for a little under $350 which although better, was not the amount we expected. My husband and I went to River Rock Dental the following day, not realizing River Rock also takes children. Our experience there was great and I will take our kids there next time. The bill for my husband and I under the same insurance (Cigna) was around $25 a cleaning after insurance was billed. When I called Children's Dentistry back and explained that something was not right they said it was not their job to check our insurance coverage and that we should have know if they took our exact plan, that it was my job to deal with my insurance, not theirs. I believe the word used was "privilege". IF they call insurance for the patient it is a privilege to us, not their job. I told them I wouldn't have used their services if we weren't covered, which is why I called and asked before booking our appointment. After much time spent with Cigna and Children's Dentistry, turns out they take Cigna but not our exact plan. Cigna said we are out of network with Children's Dentistry, Children's Dentistry says we are "covered but not that exact plan" So our bill was $350. They agreed to split the difference because "this is partly our fault, partly your fault". However I am not sure how any of this was my fault? I was just an unemployed mother trying to get her kids teeth cleaned and made the call to see if they took our insurance. This is the loophole they keep referencing. They DO take Cigna, they do NOT take our PLAN under Cigna. So they keep saying there's nothing they can do, "I should have known..." So frustrating. Spoke to the office manager, she was very rude and condescending. My sister spoke to them because when she had her appointment they did call her insurance and verified that her family was covered and my sis wanted to know why they said they don't provide that service when they did for her. The manager hung up on her. Very unprofessional. There are wonderful dentists who take kids in Twin Falls, do your research, and spare yourself some grief. In case anyone from Childrens Dentistry reads this, your check is in the mail. I hope it was worth it. If anyone reads this and spares themselves this headache it was worth it to me. Best of Luck.

Cons - Doctor explains things poorly, not dumbing-down the lingo so a Mom can understand what procedures exactly are being recommended and why. Need to write down terms so I can look it up on the internet to understand what he is talking about. Approach and procedures are rigid, not being flexible in meeting the individuals' needs. My child needs to be talked through things, but their approach is very much to distract with TVs, etc, while the dentist gets to work. Sure it works great for some, but they wouldn't follow my lead in seeing how my child needs to be coaxed. I have wasted a lot of money there with failed visits, and my child still needs dental work. I was told I would not be charged for the first failed visit, but when asked if they would forward x-rays to another dentist, I would be charged if I switched dentists. Going all Indian-giver on me is not very professional.

Scorsbey had us in and out with the cavity filled in under an hour. No medication at all, he didn't even need to take an Advil after. There was not one tear and it was a positive,happy, stress free experience. He is patient and kind and his staff is great. They charge fairly and don't pressure you into unnecessary procedures. I won't be taking him anywhere else but here.

The assistant has been working there for over 35 years and she was able to comfort me and share with me personal stories and connect to me as a person. The dentist was very agreeable, personable and informed and was very open to discussing the needs of my whole family.
