I had no change to my Information from the prior appointment. 1 week before the appt they called & texted multiple times in the same day saying they would cancel my appt if I didn't fill the paperwork out that day by 4pm. and told them I would fill it out once I had some time and it would be done prior to my appt. but they gave me a really hard time so I told them to cancel it. Out of frustration dealing with an unethical dental business, I went ahead and filed a complaint with my Dental Insurance company about Contemporary Dental Associates charging excessive fees and not responding to my repeated phone calls. ---------------------------------------------- Contemporary Dental Associates / Excessive charges Back in December 2022, I went for a four quadrants periodontal maintenance. The work performed by their hygienist was a mediocre. The insurance statement of benefits came in the mail and I was shocked that CDA got paid an exuberant amount of $1,400.00. This charge is seven times more than what my periodontist and my dentist charge for the same work. This charge is unfair and excessive. $1400 is what I was charged for a tooth implant couple of years ago. If I had known of this charge at the time of the service, I would have walked out and refused the treatment? My friend who referred me to this outfit informed me that she gets periodontal maintenance three times a year and we both have the same dental policy. Thus, she was charged much much less for the same treatment. In June 2022, my Periodontist performed the same work and got paid and accepted $200.00. In addition, in the past my dentist charged me the same as my periodontist for the same work. I called their office twice and spoke to two different people and explained to them that as a senior citizen and on a fixed income, I still have to pay other dentist for work done on my teeth and that this charge of $1400 puts me in a bind of debt.
