After doing a little research, I came across a mouth device, called Thornton Adjustable Positioner, (TAP 3), which is a mouth device much like an Invisalign. The next step would be to figure out which orthodontist would offer the device. I made an appointment to see Dr. Iyer at Dr. Segal and Iyer Orthodontics, located at 501 NJ - 73 #202 Marlton New Jersey. I can honestly say I've never been to a facility more organized, and with 21st-century technology. Dr. Iyer was extremely amazing! She was able to sit with me and educate me on exactly how the device worked and how it's going to benefit my sleep habits. I will definitely recommend anyone with sleep apnea or any orthodontic issues to see Dr. Iyer. You will not be disappointed. I saw an interaction where one of the doctors legitimately ignored their own staff member. I didn't think too much of it, because I don't know the culture there. So I did some asking around since I know some folks that have worked there in the past. Apparently turnover is incredibly high, as at least 5 people have resigned in the past 6 months. There isn't much communication as an entire team, which is obviously a problem with such a small office. Doctors are passive-aggressive to the employees they don't like. They use ableist language and get weirdly upset when people take sick days. Also, there have been microaggressions against Black and Brown staff members. I know 3 people who have worked under these doctors, and it sounds like they do great work, however I'll NEVER support an office that treats their staff so terribly.

Immediately, I was impressed by the office and by Dr. K. He took time with us, articulated everything so well, and was extremely professional. I was impressed because he told us to hold off...to wait until my son was older and in the perfect window of age/growth to address the issues. Fast forward to today: My son is 14, and just had his braces removed this week. The alignment of his bite is perfect. His smile is beautiful! (I may be a biased mom.) Through the 2 years of braces (and of additional orthodonture devices to correct his bite) every single appointment has been a breeze to schedule. We never waited more than a minute in the waiting room. The front desk receptionists are so kind. The assistants to Dr. Kazmierski are top notch. And Dr. Kazmierski is the consummate professional, meticulous to detail in correcting smiles. Never once has my son complained about coming to an appointment either. And, bonus! The convenient location allows for easy access to shopping and food shopping during the longer appointments. I was able to make great use of my time. Simply put, there is nobody better or more experienced in these types of cases than Dr Tuncay - he quarterbacked my whole treatment with my dentist and my oral surgery team, and I always felt I was in great hands. The cost for my braces was $7000 and I think I was discount -$500 so I payed $6500(cash, paid off in less that a year). I think it was very pricey being that I only had on braces for less that 2years ( I think 13/14 months). Despite the price, I always said it's the best $6500 ever spent; it was a treat to myself. My teeth weren't too bad to begin with ( just a little space like 4 and a little overbite from sucking my thumb).
