I visited today and spent over $20 for a double smash burger and a single smash burger and fries. The single smash burger looks like a child sized burger. You better off getting the double so that it atleast looks like an attractive burger. Way overpriced for what you get in return. It wasn't even good because it was way too salty. It was my first time at Smashburger and I have a few great things to say as well as a few things that warrant improvement. First off, it was a Saturday afternoon and it was not too busy (maybe 10 patrons in all). The employees seemed a bit stressed and understaffed although they were trying their very best to do it all. Clean off tables, take orders, bring out orders to customers. It took a long time to get our food, I overheard that they were not prepped properly before the shift so many things weren't quite ready to go. Sadly, the customers were upset waiting and it was hard on the employees because it's not technically their fault. I say this because having worked in the restaurant industry myself for many years I completely understand that if a previous shift did not properly set up for the next shift to come in, it does indeed affect everyone down the line. I also know what it's like when you're doing the best you can but customers still aren't happy. In my case I wasn't in a hurry per se and the cashier was so pleasant and hard working how could you possibly be upset? She apologized for our food taking so long and brought us anything we needed. I give her an A+ for work ethic and attitude, something you don't always see these days. I ordered the black bean burger which was great with the exception that the bun is so tiny my burger fell apart completely. Please get a larger bun or make the patties smaller smashburger :) hint...hint.... Fries with truffle oil were amazing as was the chocolate shake. Yes, I'd totally be back when in the mood for a burger and fries but please staff better and make sure the teams are doing their jobs properly or you'll end up with more unhappy customers over time. I hate bashing new and upcoming food place here @ Laveen. But when we pay almost triple the price for the same item in near businesses then we have a problem. Let me list the reasons that smash failed at: 1. Bland flavor, their famous classic smash burger was bland, and that's with 2 patty's that I ordered. I took 2 bites- and I was done. 2. Oily fries. I kid you not, our fries basket was dripping with oil- if that's your thing come right in. 3. Pricey- the price is ridiculous. For the burger that's no problem, but to get an extra 3.99 for just a regular fries and a regular drink? That's a meal on another business-LOL! For 2 people you might end up paying 25 bucks for 2 burgers... 4. Register not paying attention, I ordered to dine in, I got to go. First thing I asked the moment I walked in if their participating in the BOGO- still charged without the BOGO, had to remind her yet again before I got charged. Alot of talking between the teenagers that runs the place, unfortunately less working. I should took the sign when I saw the manager and one worker from smash walking away from dunkin donuts buying what looks like a shake (which smash has), and something for lunch. When workers don't eat what their selling, that's a huge sign! Take this review and save your money. And when I say I would rather eat from McDonald's or Carl's Jr across the street then that says alot. I have eaten at a Smash before and I actually liked their classic but I never remembered it to be this bland and to be so oily. Tried it for the first time since the boyfriend always have good things to say about this place and it did not disappoint. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Place is clean since its new so hopefully it will stay this way. Hubby placed an order online and went to pick it up. Arrived to the location was told He didn't put an order online. Gave the order number. Female employee then stated she found out and told him he still owed on it. Told her it was paid for she then said "oh ya it is." She made the milkshakes That were ordered and had the milkshakes done while He was waiting for the food. So needless to say We have 2 cups of milk. I walked into this place for the first time today. At I no one was physically ahead of me. I placed my order and waited. And waited. I understand many places are short staffed due to shortage of people willilng to work these days. As I notice everyone getting served, specifically the folks after me, I have my eye on bags siting under the heating light HOPING that I am not waiting on an order that has been completed. Now I am standing up. Waiting. Then, my name is called. The woman then grabbed a bag, one of the very same bags sitting under the lamp for the last 10 minutes (approx). I mention my concern for the amount of time that the order has been just sitting and I feel the bag and the contents feel lukewarm. I glance around the dining room and everyone else is enjoying HOT food, while I shelled out $14 bucks for WARM food. C'mon! The woman who took my order brough my concerns to a man in the back, who I suppose, was in charge. He comes out and hastily says "It will take 10 minutes to remake your chicken sandwich..." and walks off. Wait, what? No apology? Zero customer service. As if this is my not fault and I now need to wait EVEN longer. I say to the woman who took my order, "I would like a refund, please" this is ridiculous. She then reiterates that to the man in back. He responds that he has a lot to do and....it will be a minute..." I just took my lukeward effing lunch and left, advising that I will not be back.....and I won't. Decided to try a Smash Burger for the very first time, approximately 2 weeks ago. During this time of the Virus affecting us all, and the closing of dining room restaurants, only permitting carry out and/or drive thru options at this time, limits my choices to only fast food. So I chose SmashBurger of Laveen over all the others, for a QUALITY FOOD experience over a marginal, "nothing special" burger I can get, practically anywhere. Please don't make me regret it? I met Arjenis the GM who placed my order. While my order was being prepared, we got to know each other a little. Found him to be a pleasant, competent, qualified professional. We exchanged small talk mostly with regard to the closing of restaurant dining rooms as a result of the Virus scare. Upon returning home, I examined my meal, and everything was perfect, except for one small, insignificant, minor detail. My fries were cold by the time I got them home, (only a few miles and minutes away, which was disappointing, considering I was hoping they would remain at least warm until I got home?). I didn't say anything to Arjenis at the time, or do anything about it either, figuring to myself, Why Bother? It's not anyone's FAULT. No one is to blame. It's not like I didn't still shove them down my gullet like it was my Last Supper!?! Fast-forwarding to Today's visit? I met a very nice, proper young gentleman by the name of Adrian. He extended a warm and friendly welcome greeting to me. The restaurant dining room was empty, affording us an opportunity to visit for a moment or two without holding up the line. During our brief but cheerful conversation, I learned from him that he had been training for a 5K among some other topics we discussed. I mentioned to him in casual conversation, that on my last visit, my fries were kind of cold by the time I made it home, (Again, only a few miles and minutes away from the store), and that I couldn't help but wonder to myself if they were hot when I left the store? Honestly? Don't much care. Only an observation that will hopefully help to improve a guest's experience in the future? My complete order today, consisted of 2 Doubles and 2 Fries. Adrian offered to comp one of the fries as a goodwill gesture for the previous visit. I thanked him for his kind consideration. As for the 2nd Burger of my order, I specifically requested extra Heavy on the mustard, because I happen to "like it that way". The Check, (my receipt), as well as the "Make Station" printout, and a third printout reflected and verified that I had indeed, requested XT Mustard, and Adrian acknowledged my request on the order, in triplicate even! And yet, when I got it all home, and went to bite into mine? There wasn't so much as a scant trace of mustard. Not one drop. The top and bottom of the bun were void of any. I had to literally "disassemble" my burger, layer by layer of lettuce, tomato, pickle, meat, and cheese to find any, and there just wasn't. Is it the End of the World?? No, of course not! Not for me it isn't. Am I disappointed that this makes the second time that it seems a little disconcerting to me that, when deciding what carry-out to bring home? I choose to pay for what I get and In return? I expect to get what I pay for. I called the store upon reaching home and after unwrapping my food, while my concern was still fresh on my mind, and while I might still be remembered by Adrian from a visit with him only minutes earlier? I initially reached Arjenis first. I politely requested to speak with Adrian directly, since he was the person I conducted the transaction with, and since I wasn't trying to get anybody into any trouble. I expressed to Adrian, that I was in NO WAY, mad at anybody. And that it was probably just an oversight on the part of the person who assembled it in the first place? I don't know who that person is. I just wanted to pass along a little helpful hint that sometimes? Speed isn't always as important as Accuracy. Adrian concurred. And even though I also expressed to Adrian that I in no way, expected any sort of refund or replacement or anything of the sort? He offered it anyway by advising me that he would write my name down somewhere to refer to on my next visit, for my total and complete satisfaction. Adrian apologized profusely, for the error, even though he didn't have to. It wasn't HIS fault. And there really is no one to blame. It's only how we all learn from our mistakes. I appreciate and commend Adrian for his professional handling of the situation, and for acknowledging that I had a concern. Not a complaint. I will be returning again because of him, and Arjenis, doing their level best to deliver exceptional customer service and satisfaction. Keep up the Good Work! I will see you again, real soon. We saw so many negative reviews but decided to give it a go anyways. Ordering online was super easy and I was able to customize both of the burgers without any problems. I had set my pick up time to 7PM and arrived a bit earlier. We sat and waited for our food, which I assumed would happen due to us being there earlier. The workers were very friendly as soon as we walked it. The food came out great 100% what we ordered and tasty. We will definitely be eating here again. Many others appeared to be waiting both for dine-in and take-out. Damn disappointing. Update: had to go back for the shake they forgot. That makes it a solid 1-1/2 hours for two burgers and fries. Not once, in store, delivery, or carryout has this location managed to get an order correct. It's one of the few quick restraunts in the area that offers a gluten free bun so we've given them chance after chance to get it right with disappointing results every time. Once they even made one of our burgers wrong during an eat in experience, and when they were alerted to it pushed out orders for everyone else in the building while the rest of our party finished thier meals. They hadn't even started on the replacement by that point. Wouldn't recommend wasting your time or your money here. read more

I've been in a couple times since this place opened in Laveen. Overall, the place is clean, service is quick, and the employees are nice and attentive. I mistakenly ordered a burger that didn't come with lettuce and tomato but an employee kindly brought me some. Only a 3 here because I don't think their burgers are all that good (compared to other comparable burger joints like Five Guys and In and Out). Just went with my husband to tried their hamburgers. We tried their classic smash burger with the double patty. It was pretty salty the meat but the rest was pretty good. We order the fries and were pretty good. They give you the option of breads multi grain or classic, both of them are pretty good. Excellent customer service and clean restaurant. The good Food Is Amazing! Younger guy taking our order actually listened to my 8 yo when he wanted to order his food! I'm giving Smashburger 2 stars. I ordered the BBQ Bacon Cheddar Big Smashburger with fried Egg added and regular French fries plus a fountain drink. I was alright with the quality of the food but disappointed with the portion. The counter service gentleman recommended the burger that I ordered due to my telling him that I was hungry, and when I asked why did the burger seem so small his explanation was that they smashed it. We entered the store got in line with one person in front of us getting their order taken. When done we stepped up and then we did not exist anymore. They also deleted the order and then had to look it up again which took a while. First online order, arrived to pick up, dozens of employees working, no line and no acknowledgment that order was ready....food was cold. Second attempt for pick up a few weeks later waited in line to pay, was called over to pick up food, handed over my credit card and was told I would have to get back in line to pay after already waiting 10 minutes in the line I was called out of!.
