I scheduled a haircut, even after spelling my name several times and repeating myself over and…read moreover. She still called me Liz. Once she started introducing me to everyone in the shop as Liz, I gave up. I was ten minutes early to my appointment and didn't even get back until 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment.
She started by asking me what products I use. I am particular about putting chemicals on and in my body, so I told her Moroccan Oil and Pureology. She only heard Moroccan and said no, what kind of shampoo and conditioner. I said Moroccan. She said, oh I don't like that, that is terrible for your Native American hair. Well, I am not Native American and how can something be terrible for my hair, if you do not even know what it is.
I know part of this is my fault, because my hair was still on a bun and filled with sweat from working out, so I was a complete mess. I did bring several pictures of my hair styled multiple different ways. I stated I wanted to keep the same shape and style, just want to trim it. She then continued to lecture me on my hair and how she was doing all of these treatments. Oh by the way, she was doing my hair and two other ladies at the same time.
She continued through her three step process of whatever protein, chemicals etc, not asking why I use my products or if I were sensitive and I did not expect to have deep chemical treatments on my hair and scalp, as I just wanted a trim.
She finally got to cutting my hair, that has taken me a while to sculpt and grow out to thinned invisible layers. She showed me how much she would cut off, a quarter of an inch. What she actually did was find one of the layers and cut everything blunt with that layer, causing me to lose three inches of my hair. It was a blunt cut, which if you know me, my hair is thick and needs the invisible layers/point cut. She said she cut this upside down v with intention to give me more volume. I held my tongue, but wanted to say, clearly you can feel and see my hair, nothing about it is lacking in volume, but I digress.
She stuck me under a dryer while she styled someone else's hair. She brought me back to the chair and curled two pieces of hair and left the rest a big mess.
Yet again, I am disappointed with a stylist in OKC and not sure how long it will take to grow my hair out and obtain the shape I love. Looks like I will be getting that long bob, I was considering.
By the way, my scalp burned for three days after from the chemicals she used on my head. I felt and smelled like I had a perm.
