I went to Smallcakes with my husband. The store looked clean and attractive on the inside with an array of delicious-looking cupcakes on display. We decided to share a peanut butter cup cupcake and a vanilla and chocolate cupcake. I LOVED the peanut butter cup cupcake!! The frosting was delicious even after I scraped 80% of it off. The vanilla and chocolate cupcake was just okay to me. If we visit again I'd try something different. They have many cupcakes to choose from, including some with filling on the inside. They're a little pricey though. Just over $8.00 for two cupcakes. So, this would be a place we'd visit to treat ourselves, and not a regular option. I wanted the Oreo cupcake but did not want the chocolate base, so they were able to change the base flavor. The cupcakes are good BUT ITS TOOOOO MUCH ICING. The base part was very moist. I did not even eat the icing it was just tooo much. Maybe next time I go back I will ask for one with less icing. We decided to get something different this time at Small cakes but was completely disappointed. I ordered a red velvet milkshake and requested no whip cream. They filled it just over half way. I asked if they can fill it up, they said they usually put whipped cream to fill it up. How can you do this with good conscience when it was an expensive shake. I love this little shop! The cupcakes are delicious. The red velvet is my favorite but the birthday one is great as well. They also have ice cream which is perfect to pair with your cupcake. Not really sure how I feel about this spot. Customer service was very good, the atmosphere is very bright, clean and welcoming. I got the chocolate cream cupcake. There was no cream in the inside of the cupcake, I asked prior and was told it was. The icing also had an aftertaste. Will try it again to see if it was an off day. read more

Was in the area after leaving IKEA, just happened to see a cupcake place and me and my girlfriend was deciding what to eat and we kept seeing people leave out the cupcake place with the pink boxes so we decided it had to be good as much business they were getting. The place was nice and bright and smelled amazing when walking through the door. We were greeted with a smile and the person helped explain each cupcake and which ones were her favorite. I'm a little late, but had a wonderful small smash dessert last week! I chose their delicious almond wedding cupcake, filled with their classic vanilla bean ice cream and cookies and cream ice cream. However today we visited this store and although social distancing is mandatory and masks are required to enter food establishments in the state, the employees allowed a man in the store to without a mask. The biggest issue we had was the man kept coughing and was not wearing a mask. He then was leaning over the glass partition looking at the cupcakes and again coughing. Not one of the employees said anything to him. We ultimately decided to abandon our order in progress and leave. Very unpleased that not one of the employees spoke up and asked the man to wear a mask or leave. To me the entire case of cupcakes needed to be thrown away. Today I purchased one of each since I knew I'd be back. The cake on the red velvet was so good. You can taste the hint of chocolate (as you should IMHO). I gave the red velvet an 8/10. Reason being is my taste buds want a true cream cheese icing taste with a cake that good and I tasted more vanilla. However, the Wedding Cake did not disappoint. 10 across the board. I contemplated over my selection and the dark chocolate cupcake with cream filling. The cashier said that the frosting on the vanilla cupcake was fudgy, rather than like a buttercream. The verdict...The cake was fresh, moist, and light. However, the frosting was sweet, not at all a fudgy consistency, and most definitely not chocolatey. Would I go there again?
