This place has a great deal of antiques neatly on display and it features a lot of great stuff I was primarily looking for cool outdoor items for display while my wife was looking for cool kitchenware that was nostalgic. This place has decent finds at decent prices as well overall it was a really casual antique store experience but it does offer the most compared to other antique stores in this area

There was a variety of antiques packed into one store and I was in heaven. I came to Wisconsin on a girls weekend to get out of the city. My roommate, a Baraboo native, always comes back from home with cool furniture or jewelry that she finds in Baraboo antique stores so I was excited to try and find my own treasures. Our first stop in Baraboo's quite happening antique scene was Oak Street Antiques and Yarn Nook. We met up with my roommate's mom who was checking out as we walked in, but I was immediately distracted by a trunk full of wrapped presents. They were all $2 and labeled with the age range that the item inside would be appropriate for. I stood there for a good 5 minutes talking myself out of purchasing an armload full of them because I love a bargain and a surprise. After I got over my irrational urge to buy all the surprises, I started to look around the store. I really liked the layout and flow of the store. There were items everywhere, but I never felt overwhelmed and there was always room for 2+ people to move about. The front right corner of the store is the "yarn nook" section where you can buy all types of yarn and accessories and in the back left corner, there were a few ladies sitting around a large table and knitting. The back right corner has a room full of clothes, from old fur coats to shoes, to purses. The remainder of the store is full of items from postcards, cast iron, jewelry, books, boy scout uniforms, sleds, furniture, and tons of other unique items. There were quite a few items that piqued my interest but I had to resist as they were not practical purchases. I can't wait for my next trip to Baraboo to check out the new inventory at Oak Street Antiques!

A pretty standard antique and collectibles shop. There are some gorgeous things that I would never…read morebuy (like the lace and tulle wedding gown near the counter), some good finds if you know what you're looking for (my boyfriend came away with some good comic book deals), and a large amount of items that would probably be better suited at a rummage sale than an antiques store (80-cent unboxed Matchbox cars, records that came out in the last 20 years, crafts). As a kid I was a total weirdo and loved poring over the items that were older than my grandparents, lusting over the wrought-iron school desk that somehow never sold, wondering who wore the leather spats and pearl-buttoned dresses, marveling at the craftsmanship of hand-painted signs and hand-carved wood. As an adult, many of the items I've found at places like Cameo seem too modern, too junky, too common. Aside from the merchandise, the building was freezing. The book room has a large fan that feels like it's blowing air conditioning even though it's the middle of November, and the basement suffered from a similar breeze coming from a (de?)-humidifier. With a coat I was still cold - if I hadn't been waiting on my gent I'd have bolted much quicker. If you have something in mind to buy, this could be the place for you, but as someone just out to browse, it didn't take me to the same magical place the antique stores of my childhood did.

We thought we'd take a little break and look around - we had no idea how HUGE the place is inside (relative to its outward appearance) and spent over an hour perusing the stalls! Impeccably maintained and nicely curated, this is a good antiques mall. Some prices are better than others, but that's to each stall owner of course. A really great book room and lots of small furniture pieces.
