This place is brand spanking new and is great. I love the decor and the food was delicious. I had the bulgogi bibimbap and miso soup. The bibimbap was full of flavor and fresh vegetables. The "spicy" sauce that came with it was the icing on the cake. It was a bit spicy but not spicy enough to make me submerge my mouth into a tank of water. A-men. So happy to have Slow Loris in the neighborhood! The food is exceptional. The vegetarian Korean stew and tofu kimchi are my two favorites so far. They had a delicious vegetarian sushi roll during their soft opening -- I hope they consider adding it back to the menu. Slow Loris has a few minor kinks to iron out (service can be slow and the top 40s ballads playlist is a little grating), but nothing that's a dealbreaker. I'll definitely be back! read more

They make a mean bibimbap, and when you get it as a lunch special, it comes with a nice little soup although recently, it was miso instead of the usual. Service in the restaurant is fairly attentive although they got our order wrong the last time we were there and couldn't correct it because "the squid was still frozen." They also forgot to put an egg on top of the dish. I think that they should have at least comped us something since they couldn't make it right. read more

My go-to Korean and ramen spot. Their fried chicken wings are soooo good as well as their Bao buns. I've tried the J Ramen and it's tasty, though sometimes the pork is a little too fatty for me. Food is great, but you will wait FOREVER every time. No order outside and people (delivery drivers) walk in front of you yelling in the window. Lovely neighborhood restaurant with a nice spread of Korean and Japanese dishes on offer. We didn't try the more interesting fusion dishes on our visit, but we'll be back for them. The Korean style wings were excellent, and the sushi tower (cold entree) was a big hit at our table. Stone bowl bibimbap was perfectly done, and their soft tofu stew is grandma-level comfort food. Excellent cook on the rice, too. No banchan here, but it wasn't terribly missed. I do wish they had a sake/makkeoli/sochu selection, but that won't keep us from coming back. All in all, I'd say this is an excellent weekday family dinner spot. read more

It was a ten minute walk from the Brooklyn botanical garden and we didn't feel like eating there. Service was a bit slow but friendly. The food was very good. My son ordered udon and a salmon avocado roll and loved them both. I had a spicy Korean tofu stew, which was very good. Definitely we will come back. read more

I don't know who Loris is, but slow is not the word to describe this restaurant's service - delightful, friendly and perfect timing are more appropriate. I think the owner probably just adores sloths (as in the mammal). We stopped in for a late lunch on Saturday after walking around Prospect Park (Brooklyn's answer to Central Park, same landscape architect team of Olmstead and Vaux). Even after passing by several tempting taco restaurants nearby, I was craving Japanese sushi. The night before I had scrolled through Instagram and got stuck on a photo of Dwayne The Rock Johnson's diet cheat meal - platters of sushi. My mouth had been watering since midnight. Slow Loris' sushi was exactly what I was craving - huge chunks of fresh creamy avocado in the Avocado Rolls ($5 so cheap!), my husband's favorite unagi (teriyaki eel) avocado roll ($8) and the Sassy Seared Salmon Sushi ($14) with spicy crabmeat was drizzled with the most perfect sweet and salty sauce. I was in sushi heaven. But wait, this place also serves Korean food! It was rare sunny day and New Yorkers were outside sunning themselves in the park so we were in the mood for BBQ - Korean galbi bbq ribs and japchae (which had a lot of bbq beef mixed in with the sweet potato glass noodles). It was a lot of food, the bill came out to around $70 but we had leftovers for the next day. The food was so tasty delicious. I love all Asian cuisine, but Japanese and Korean are two at the top of my list and to have a restaurant prepare both well together is a happy day. If you sit close to the sushi bar and kitchen the wonderful aroma of food wafts by your nose. That's how a kitchen should always smell - like grandma is in the back cooking. The inside of the restaurant is cutely furnished and I loved the cat painted around the light switch. Wish we had a Slow Loris in our neighborhood in Manhattan! We'll be back Brooklyn! read more

Came here on Saturday at around 1pm, my group was the only one there, however there was a lot of takeout/pickup. Out temperature was taken at the door and promptly seated after. There aren't any pixie glass or anything to separate you from other groups but that wasn't a problem for us, as noone else was there. Moving on, my friends and I wanted to try many of the items on the menu. We ordered the both k-bao(pork belly) and j-bao (katsu), tuna tartare salad, bulgolgi bibimbop, bbq galbi, crazy monkey roll, and j-ramen. We really liked the sauce for the k-bao, but we all decided the j-bao tasted way better. it might've been the crunch, but definitely tastier. The tuna tartare was also quite refreshing. They give a good amount of tuna, only problem was mixing the salad took awhile as the bowl is sorta small for what they're giving. The bulgolgi bibimbop we got on hot stone. Even after putting majority of the paste into the rice, it wasn't too spicy which was perfect. No complaints here. The galbi looked fantastic, it is served on a bed of onions? I didn't bother to look at the bottom... and cooked kimchi. My friends really liked the kimchi as it wasn't too salty and sorta sweet. The grill marks on the meat was also just enough to not have an overpowering taste. The crazy monkey roll was pretty good, might've had too much sauce but overall didn't destroy the dish. We still finished it. Even for someone who usually doesn't order eel ate a few pieces of it. The j-ramen we thought was pretty good, probably rate it a 7.5/10. The broth was a tad salty though, but if you like it more salty, it may be for you. I do however wish the charsiu wasn't as charred... so it lost a point there. My friends also didn't like the tea egg, it was a bit sweet and my friends didn't like the yolk. I didn't try the yolk so I can't say for myself. But overall had a good experience, would come back for more food. read more

Where to start? This place is perfect for a tasty, authentic bite of Korean food and sushi. Sometimes, I dream about the kimchi pancakes my Korean childhood friend's mom used to make me - this place is the first to hit the spot when it came to finally fulfilling this lifelong craving. I came here on a whim after reading some good reviews, and I was so delighted that they had everything I've been craving here. Some of my personal favorites are the kimchi pancake (crispy, delightfully and perfectly greasy, flavorful) the soondubu soup (super flavorful, piping hot, with the softest tofu in the world) and any of the special sushi rolls. The spring rolls from the sushi bar are great when you want a light, healthy snack as well. Somehow, greens are 10 times more delicious when they're wrapped in rice paper. Not sure why. Service is excellent! Sometimes it is really busy but they always are able to accommodate any of my requests. Everyone is very friendly even when it's super busy. I try not to order delivery too much here when it's lunch rush hours, though, as it can be a bit slow. I try to order more towards the early afternoon or towards the end of the night if ordering through Ubereats or whatever, and everything ends up coming on time. However, service indoors is wonderful all the time and honestly I have no real complaints. Ambiance is amazing! Such a cute little spot and is so nicely decorated. Love the sloth theme and the shirts all the servers wear are absolutely adorable. A lot of love clearly went into this restaurant (which I am assuming is a mom-and-pop restaurant). Very versatile ambiance - can be used for date nights especially with its rustic features, and also a good spot to just hang out casually with friends. I've done both. ALWAYS a good time. I'm a regular at slow loris and their food is awesome!!! i'm a big sushi fan and this spot is amazing for that. i've never once gotten sick from it, which i happened to read from someone else's review below, and i order from here at LEAST once a week from seamless - in fact, the only issue that i've had with their sushi is that i eat it way too quickly because it tastes so damn good!! the j-bao, k-bao, and korean fried chicken are all great too. the baos always look so cute!!! i can't wait to expand and try actual hot korean entrees from here, because my roommate is a big fan of the bibambap and the scallion pancakes, but their sushi truly is amazing and i can't seem to deviate from it lol! if youre a sushi fan like i am, go try the baked hawaiian roll and the volcano!!! i'm also a big fan of the nigiri and the simple sashimi pieces. they're always so fresh and tasty, and not weird and chewy like some places. great quality, always. also, i made this account mostly because i wanted to give this lovely place a review/quick shoutout, so that should say something about this place!! go check it out!! and thank you to everyone at slowloris for the delicious comfort food you guys provided me during the pandemic. i'm going broke because of you guys lol!! all worth it though read more

I don't think I've ever been to a restaurant this bad in my life. The service was so comical I thought I might have been on candid camera. They gave my food to the person seated next to us and after the customer took a few bites, they finally registered that it wasn't their food. When the waiter was notified, they asked if I simply wanted to eat the order that the customer next to us had already started. What the actual fuck! When I told them "No" they simply went in the back and rearranged the already eaten food and presented it back to me. I know this because one roll was missing on the dish . On top of it, the food was soooooooooooooooo blah! Not a standout unless you are in an absolute bind, which let's hope you never get to that point. read more

This place is awesome and I'm super happy it exists in a neighborhood already filled with some excellent bars - now we have a fantastic food option to keep us satiated before we fill ourselves with ethanol. The place is not terribly large but could fit a decently sized group of 4-8, and they have plenty of smaller tables for 2 people. The waitstaff are really genial and I thought they were attentive and quick. I got the bibimbap with bulgogi in the regular bowl - the stone bowl makes no significant difference but it probably keeps your food a tad bit hotter than the regular bowl and it looks cool. It felt authentic and well-balanced and it was reasonably priced. It's the perfect place for a super casual meal and they play some classic and new school Kpop bangers. Enjoy! read more

They food is ok. Obviously not comparably to food in queens but I always order their food because they are nice and convenient. However I have the worst experience with the delivery apparently. I always tip them $5-$8 cash depending on how fast and warm my food gets on time. And this usually happens via seamless. Their spicy pork and bulgogi is good however the kimchi fried rice is overly sweet ( I did appreciate the runny egg) and their kimchi pancake has good texture. Really enjoyed our meal at Slow Loris! My friends got Jeyuk Kimchi Bokum and the chicken teriyaki and the Korean fried chicken and I got sushi! They loved their dishes, especially the fried chicken and I enjoyed my rolls! The spicy tuna roll was actually spicy just the way I like it. I've had better sushi but their rolls certainly were nothing short of delicious and it fulfilled my craving. So happy to have some more Asian cuisine in the neighborhood. Next time when it's not so hot out, I'm trying the Sundubu-jjigae because that's one of my top favorite dishes. Service was fast, but our dishes didn't come out all at the same time so there was some hesitation to start eating. They were super friendly all around and very accommodating! I was deeply craving tofu soup and tofu soup is just a little harder to find in this area of Brooklyn, so I was super excited to see that Slow Loris was in the area! There is a lovely warmth to the decor inside and there were quite a few seats open during prime dinner time on a weekend. As it turns out, delivery is quite popular here! The plethora of people who were ordering delivery really took away from my dine-in experience--the staff was in a bit of a frenzy and our waitress was pretty distracted as my table was trying to order. Our food came quickly, which was great, but my soup tasted rather bland and I didn't get the pleasure of scorching my tongue the way I normally do when I order soup as it wasn't blistering hot. I did like the fact that their menu had many Japanese and Korean options (Takoyaki anyone?) and the pricing was much more affordable than other marked up locations in NYC. Okay so you've seen other reviews on the music and the liquor, etc. Well my five year old son and I just finished having lunch here and it was delicious, satisfying, and fun. The food was fresh and yummy! My son came in asking for pancakes and finished his chicken katsu bento box. Kimchi is damn decent and service was prompt. I've eaten Korean food in many top places and I'd come here over and over again. K-food on Flatbush Avenue and reasonably priced. Unicorn!!!! I will be back Slow Loris.
