This place will never see me again!!!! I walked in and requested a table for 2 and was told that it would be a 25 min wait and have my phone number for a call back. As I waited outside with my gf she had to use the restroomupon reentering the restaurant we noticed that another couple was given a table ahead of us. And I am extremely upset for more reasons than I care to admit

Some of the best Korean food I've had in NYC!! This restaurant is located in a beautiful neighborhood in Brooklyn near Prospect Park. The inside was well decorated and the ambiance is one to beat. I got the chicken teriyaki and it was delicious. Full of flavor and a large portion. I would get it this over and over, it was that good! It is close to the Q line, if you are staying in Manhattan. The service was wonderful and they answered all my questions. This is a must if you are west of the park!!

Great spot for Korean food. Came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon with a friend and the place was pretty empty so grabbing a table was easy. Started off with the Japchae Seaweed Roll to share, which was a great appetizer to begin the meal with. For myself I ordered the Soondubu Chigae which is was also great. The broth was super flavorful and I couldn't help myself from ordering a second bowl of rice to make sure I got every last drop. Definitely glad I got to try this spot!

Slow Loris is such an amazing spot. The menu is really big with so many amazing options, and everything I've tried has been fresh and tasty. Our waiter was so kind and accommodating, he was often checking on our table and wanted to make sure everything was perfect. We went on a weeknight which wasn't too busy, and were able to be seated immediately. They were playing very fun music, but it was at a nice volume where we were able to chat easily. I went with a friend and we shared the veggie bao ($10), edamame ($7), spicy tuna roll with crunch ($9), and a volcano roll ($19). The tofu on the veggie bao was so flavorful and prepared to be very crunchy, it was so good! The sauce and veggies were also very tasty, and bao bun was soft and silky. Edamame was nice and fresh as well. The sushi was all delicious, and was worth the splurge. The fish was really fresh and the sauces they used actually made these spicy rolls have a little bit of a punch! Highly recommend.

This restaurant has a nice vibe inside but very small. It took 45 minutes to take our drink order. When we finally were able to get our orders in we were told that any food from the sushi bar will take longer and were told to refrain from ordering anything but kitchen items. Once our food was brought to the table, the Sashimi was fresh, the Breaded Crispy Rice was alright, nothing spectacular, and the K-bao was alright but the piece of pork was very thinly cut. The Calamari Bokum was surprisingly devoid of flavor. Not many pieces of calamari and they were obviously frozen pieces. Not worth the triple digit bill or the time. Would steer clear.

Quite expensive for myself. But love a treat for kimbap or korean food. The bao is also very attractive to mee. I ordered a kimbap from here and the J-bao, which is the fried chicken katsu which is very tasty and crispy. The kimbap i got a classic and spicy, and it was super spicy cause serano pepper(i thought it would be jalapeño). We also got korean fried chicken once and it was tasty but the sauces was ok, we had gotten a sweet and spicy and a sweet and chili one. Would loveee if the prices were friendlier. But happy the establishment is here for my cravingss

I went to Slow Loris for the 2nd time yesterday & I had been looking forward to going back after the 1st time! It is a small & busy place with very friendly staff & delicious food. They also have little slow loris toys decorating the restaurant in a cute fashion. The veggie pan-fried gyoza are the best I've ever had! Seared to perfection! My friend had a crunchy salmon roll with avocado that was good & I tried kimbap for the 1st time, which was also good & full of flavor. The only drawback or thing to know about kimbap is that you are meant to eat each slice in 1 bite or the slice will fall apart & the slices are a bit wide, but still very good! I also had a delicious bottled jasmine tea that was unsweetened so 0 calories & it came with funnily shaped ice that looks like it's in the shape of olives or eyeballs, which would make good Halloween ice, my friend pointed out. Anyways, I can't wait to go back again soon!

Bibimbap and Sushi Combo and K-Ramen

Came here on a Thursday night on a search for some Korean food -- there's not many Korean restaurants in this part of Brooklyn. Surprisingly, place was quite filled. The place is not that big but big enough to fit about 8-10 tables. Upon arrival, we were warned that their card machine wasn't working so it was all cash or Venmo. Luckily, we had cash. Menu was pretty extensive -- a fusion of Japanese and Korean cuisine. We decided on a bibimbap and sushi combo that came with sushi and miso soup, and the K-ramen (which stands for Korean style ramen). Some other table ordered some meat on a sizzling platter and the aroma filled the restaurant. The bibimbap was good and comparable, if not better, than the bibimbap at BCD Tofu House (largely because of the sauce). Sushi was fresh and good. Miso soup was standard. However, my K-ramen was pretty disappointing. Nothing outstanding about it. A bunch of seafood (shrimp, mussels, octopus) in a bowl of ramen. The ramen broth is similar to kimchi jigae, but not as nearly flavorful. I wouldn't order this again. We also ordered a green tea crepe cake slice for dessert. It was such a tiny piece for $8 and obviously tasted nothing like a Lady M cake. The waitress forgot to charge us for the slice of cake on our bill but we were nice enough to let her know and get the bill adjusted. Place seem like a local, small family business. It was worth a first try but I probably would order other food on their menu if I ever return.

    Hawaiian Roll

During my weekend here, I found time to get out to Brooklyn for the botanic garden and found Slow Loris nearby. I was deciding whether to order one of the Korean options since I've never tried Korean food, but ended up getting the Hawaiian roll which which was well-portioned and popped with a variety of flavor. My friend got the fried rice with chicken and said he really enjoyed it. I also noticed the staff was very friendly. One of the servers bowed to those leaving in the typical Japanese style, which was cool to see. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area. Also, I don't mean to brag, but the photo I took of the fried rice could be mistaken for the cover of a magazine. Definitely one of the best quality photos I've taken.

I enjoy the food here. It's the only Korean restaurants and it satisfies the craving. I'm most impressed with the fried seaweed and the recently added kimbap. The tuna kimbap was actually exceptional and I crave that specific dish now. The soups are good but could use more flavor. Will continue coming here

The food & service was AMAZINGGG 10 out of 10. The shumai was deep fried and amazing along with the Korean fried chicken wings. The sushi roll was massive but delicious. The space was so intimate.

Calamari over udon noodles - spicy & tasty

Such a great find!! Went for dinner around 6:30-7ish last night~ we had no trouble getting a table & the food was delicious. I got the Tuna/Salmon/Yellowtail/White Fish Poke Bowl (subbed white fish for extra yellowtail- major cred they did that for me for no extra charge) which came well presented with all the goodies: arugula, cucumber, avocado (yay), carrot, corn, cherry tomatoes, radish, beets, sesame seeds, white rice (& spicy mayo on the side.) I was stuffed! If you're looking for a legit sushi spot without breaking the bank, look no further. My lovely date who was actually the one who found this restaurant ordered Korean Fried Chicken with the Crispy Honey sauce (you can choose out of 4- the others are soy ginger, sweet chili, & spicy sauce), which he liked so much he said he wants to learn to make it himself! He also got the Calamari Udon which was spicy (as noted) & the bonito flakes on top were moving around when it came to the table (bc of the heat) so it looked like it was alive HA! He says he'd go again just for that dish & it was "well-plated" :P I think my only request would be adding iced coffee drinks to the menu & serving water not in disposable cups :) though my ginger ale did come in a mason jar. Bathroom is well maintained & bonus points for the cute kitty light switch!! xx

My once favorite place is no more. When I first started ordering from here during the pandemic the food was so fresh and delicious, but what I noticed in my last 2 orders is it's not the same. The spicy tuna had an overwhelming lemon and black pepper flavor that I'm not accustomed to when having sushi. My once favorite beaded crispy rice cake was chewy not crispy. I'm not sure what happened with them, but I hope they fix it.

Last night we decided it was time she try Korean food, and specifically he wanted to choose a Bib Gourmand restaurant. We booked this reservation the same day, and watched spots get taken as we booked on the website! Street parking wasn't hard to find and we were greeted and seated immediately. We loved the calming atmosphere inside and had a table with a view of everything. After offering us water, we decided on drinks. I ordered the Velvet Reviver, which was described as an espresso martini meets a White Russian. It was delicious and almost like a dessert drink. My boyfriend ordered The Squid & The Whale which grew on all of us, especially paired with our food. To start, we shared the Yache pajun (vegetable scallion pancakes) and the Dukboki fundido (a Mexican inspired spicy, hot, cheesy dip with my favorite chewy Korean rice cakes inside). The scallion pancakes were delicious and had much more texture than once I have tried in the past, paired with a perfect vinegary sauce you can spoon on top. We all loved the dip and it was the perfect amount of spicy and comforting chewiness. I then was recommended a white wine to pair with the appetizer I chose as my entree, the Yeoneo. Each slice of salmon was incredibly fresh, and they were very generous with the amount of row that was served as well. The greens and avocado slices were great as well to add more texture. My boyfriend then ordered a yummy beer and the Daegu jorim. We absolutely adored this dish and noted that the cod had perfect structure to it, that almost mimic that of the deliciously cooked radishes in this dish. His mother ordered the ultimate comfort dish of the night, the Kalbi jjim (with no jalapeños). We were in awe at how the meat fell apart due to how tender it was. If you like melt in your mouth beef and stew like dishes, this is the dish for you. Our food was served with some banchan: amazing kimchi, myeolchi bokkeum (dried anchovies, much more mild than you'd expect), and kongjang (soy beans, also mild and with more chew than a typical edamame you might expect). We absolutely loved our dinner here and how helpful and kind the weight staff was, explaining different dishes and flavors, and clearing and switching out our plates at every turn.

Since I was staying in Brooklyn for work, Haenyeo was an easy choice for a date night dinner. We went on a Thursday evening around 8pm. We didn't have a reservation but were seated immediately without a wait. The restaurant was fairly busy; if you're planning ahead I would consider making a reservation. We started with an order of the Japchae. Then we ordered the Bibimbop with chicken and the Bulgogi. The Japchae was underwhelming. Not a strong flavor profile, leaned sort of bland. The entrees were much better. The rice in the Bibimbop had a really yummy crispy layer. When all mixed together, it's a great melody of flavors and textures. The Bulgogi was equally enjoyable. Definitely recommend the red spicy sauce it comes with. We shared both entrees among 2 people and felt the portions sizes were decent - neither left hungry. The service was okay. We didn't seem to have a dedicated server. It felt like all the wait staff takes care of everyone simultaneously? Everyone was friendly; there was just a long wait for someone to come for our food order. If you're looking for an authentic experience with Korean food, this may be the spot for you.

As someone who really enjoys KBBQ, I came in with high expectations. The experience ended up being just okay. The biggest letdown was the banchan. The kimchi in particular did not taste fresh, and while I can usually appreciate well-fermented kimchi, this felt past its prime. The rest of the banchan did not stand out either. For the meats, we tried the dry aged ribeye, hanger steak, and non-marinated galbi. The ribeye was underwhelming and a bit too chewy for my liking, especially given the expectations around dry aging. The hanger steak ended up being the most flavorful and tender of the three. The galbi had great marbling and was apparently cut fresh that day, but in a city with strong KBBQ competition, it did not quite stand above the rest. That said, the service really stood out. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming throughout the meal. If there is one thing I would remember most from this visit, it is the level of care from the team.
