at first my husband and I were treated great. We sampled beds based on our type and found 2 possible ones we liked. We asked for information on the two options and instead of getting it so we could go home and think about it, we ended up sitting in a chair while the guy took our information and then proceeded with the hard sell. He called his manager and wheeled and dealed us like we were at a car dealership. He said he couldn't give us pricing information for more than one mattress (no clue why) and was trying to close the deal. Literally I was talking to a guy named Len on the phone who was a manager, trying to convince me to put a deposit down on a $4,000 mattress for a whopping 10% off. We just wanted freaking information and it wasn't company policy to give it to us. Then, he said the manager told him to only give us information for the 'cheaper' mattress since we were non committal. So stupid since I know my husband and we would have been back the next day buying the more expensive mattress. We asked for the guys business card before this all started to make sure we came back and asked for him in case he earned commission - he said they don't have business cards.
If a customer asks for information, the reason is they want to go home, do some research, look at their finances and make a decision. I cannot believe I was sitting in a chair while some guy over the phone tried to convince me to spend $4,000. It was very unprofessional and quite insulting when we were unable to get pricing on the one we probably would have bought had we been given the information. read more
