Another year at Mistletoe Meadows and it was again wonderful. I grew up with plastic trees and as…read morean adult have always loved getting a real tree for Christmas. We've come here for years and love it. This year, they've made some changes to the flow and it seems improved. The usual things are there such as the wagon rides and the large fields of trees to choose from. The trees are tagged with colored ribbons which indicate the size and price. You pick a tree, wave someone down, and they will cut and bail it for you. Alternatively, you can also cut your own. They have a large barn area that grows a bit every year. You can get a cup of hot chocolate, hot apple cider, or a cookie for free. You also get a free small wreath with every tree, and there is a nice selection of larger wreaths and garland for purchase. After paying, you get back in your car and line up for pickup. Present your tag, and they quickly load the tree on top of your vehicle and tie it down for you. This area is rearranged and improved in efficiency compared to last year. It was quick and easy despite a busy day (Saturday after Thanksgiving) and long line. Prices go up year over year, which is unfortunate consequence of inflation. I'm glad they accept card payments and not just cash. But for the service, the quality of the trees, and the size of the farm, I don't mind the price. They are easily my favorite tree farm and are a family tradition!

You drive down a gravel road to get to the parking area and the barn which kinda serves as a home base for your experience. The parking area is themed with signs for streets named after reindeer which is a nice touch. You walk up the hill to Santa who greets you and then gets you on a hay ride out to the field. You ride out and are greeted by an employee who gives you the information on how to view prices, where to look for trees, and how to get an employees help once you have your perfect tree. They are available with chainsaws or you are welcome to use a handsaw to cut the tree yourself! The field had a great variety of trees all well maintained and in various sizes both in height and width. Once you have your tree cut they shake and bale your tree while you take the hayride back to the barn. At the barn you are greeted with fresh wreaths, garland, and mailbox decorations (don't forget to pick up your free small wreath that comes with every tree!) They also have restrooms and free refreshments (hot cocoa, hot apple cider, and cookies!). You enter a small checkout area where you can pay for your tree and pick up some minor tree essentials (lights, stands, or funnels). After paying, you drive your car to the side of the barn and give them your tag and they load your tree up for you and you are on your way! Overall everyone is friendly and the little touches such as the free refreshments and the free wreath make this my go to stop for a tree every year!

There is an activity area kids to play, tractor hay rides, beautiful poinsettias, hot chocolate and apple cider available, knickknacks to put around the house or gifts to give, handmade fresh wreaths made on site, Mr. & Mrs. Claus on certain dates and plenty of precut trees to choose from! I love that there's plenty to look at for adults and kids, which doesn't make it your ordinary tree farm. There's a small lot for parking - I'd suggest getting there within the first 2 hours of them opening on Fridays and the weekend. The entire staff is extremely friendly and more than willing to help you out. They're so jolly! The small trees around 1-2 ft are around $35. 3-4ft is around $40. 4-5ft is around $55 5-6ft can range between $80 6ft+ is $100 up. Honestly it's worth the price, and I love to support the nice owners of this place. They definitely know how to make it a wonderful experience!

The farm was super busy as it was their first weekend open. There was a bit of a line to get on the hayride/trolley up the mountain but they have these rides constantly rotating so the wait was pretty short. We took a hayride up to the field where they had a section marked off for choose and cut that day. We quickly got to looking at the trees which were super packed in and I was very impressed with the tree selection. I grew up getting a real tree and have been to many choose and cut fields and Frosty's trees were truly top notch, they were all well manicured and they had a variety of sizes. After the tree was selected we got everything tagged appropriately and I was able to cut the tree down. After that we hopped on a trolley back to the barn where they had a great selection of wreaths, kissing balls, decorative crosses, and garland. They even have decorations you can add on and decorate them yourself on site with help from their staff! In addition to this nice addition they had a wide variety of local food trucks on site outside the barn with tons of seating. Inside the barn they had a wide selection of local christmas themed items such as candles, ornaments, Frosty's merchandise and more. To top it all off they have a winery onsite during other months of the year and they had a streamlined selection of options set to try for free! All in all the experience was very good and the prices were fair and comparable to other tree farms in the area!!
