Probably the worst apartment I've been in. The windows are double pained and ass/broken.. Also management laughed at me. A few times for my concerns. lol the maintenance guys have been the best. But a 10 of 10 do not recommend. But I will say the maintenance guys are top tier. They go above and beyond. Other then that the complex is ass 3 cars got broken into on my street alone. I don't recommend these apartments if you are looking to professional and accountable management. My car was damaged by their broken entrance gate. This happened June 20th and 7 weeks later they tell me I have to file it on my own insurance. The day it happened I went in and told Cari what happened and she confirmed they had maintenance guys working to the gate at the same time that I was in my car was passing through. Which caused the gate to close on my car leaving damage. They asked for 3 bids in regard to car's repairs. I provided two and told them the third one could come from their insurance adjuster. They stopped asking for a third bid after that told them that. But then they kept making excuses like wanting more details on the estimates which then I emailed them a second time stating and letting them know that that was all the details I received from the collision centers. Another excuse was that they didn't seem to like that one do the estimates was double the first one and even wanted me to come in with the physical copies which I did, again telling them that was what received from the estimators. At this point they still hadn't provide any insurance information and kept going around it. They then tell me they could do $2,000 towards rent. I declined and I told them how that was unfair and I wanted to proceed with their insurance. A day later they call me to tell me that they are now only willing to pay my deductible $500 and I would have to file it through my insurance. Realizing they had just given me a worse offer I was inclined to compromise. I let them know that I would accept an average of the two estimates $2,500 to go to rent for the two following months for I can save for the repairs. One picture is the reply I got back from them and the second one is for my own sake of calling them out for not being professional about this whole situation. I do not recommend these apartments! I want to warn people and let them know that if you get any type of property damage at Skyview West Apartments they do not care and will not take any type of responsibility even when acknowledging being at fault. read more

I've lived here since, gosh... 2013? I've seen management companies come and go--the good ones have been very good and the bad ones have been very bad. The current owner/management company actually cares about this place and has been putting a lot of effort into what would probably have been considered a "distressed property" when they bought it and it's looking and feeling nice again. Lots of upgrades have been going on in the apartments as people move out, they're taking good care of the landscaping and making a real effort to keep the place safe and clean. They're always adding new cool things (most recently an after hours package locker accessible with a code!) and keeping residents up to date (lots of nice emails, texts and fliers when there's a notice or a holiday coming up) which I really appreciate and it's something I didn't know I was even missing with the previous regimes. Literally everyone who lives here is SO NICE. My husband and I walk a lot and everyone knows our corgi Waffles, I swear he has a secret fan club because neighbors I've never met before know his name and want to come pet him when I'm out with him by myself (please pet my dog he loves you, stranger!), which is another point: I feel really safe walking around here by myself, even at night which hasn't always been the case in the past. Past grievances that have been fixed by the current owner/management company: The back fence had a person sized hole in it that people from the neighboring apartment community were using as a gate, this was fixed. The fence was in general disrepair and they had someone come out and weld rusting spots and paint it. The bushes were overgrown and the trees were so low it made it hard to walk down the sidewalk, they had someone come trim everything up and have kept it nice since then. None of the security lights worked and the new management had SUPER BRIGHT ones installed so the whole place is illuminated at night. The AC units were always breaking down and being overly noisy, they had an AC repair company come out and service all of them and I've seen them out there checking over things even when they're working just to be sure everyone is comfortable. There was dog crap everywhere... Well, there's still dog crap everywhere but they're always having someone walk around and pick it up and they added more poo bag/trash stations to the property to encourage people to pick up after their pets (this is a resident issue, NOT a management issue! Pick up after your dog you uncouth cretins!) Current grievances that have not been fixed yet: The hot tub has not worked consistently in the five years I've lived here. I understand that it's probably egregiously expensive to fix an in ground hot tub but considering it's a draw for most residents (me included!) and is advertised on the website it really SHOULD WORK. The pool also gets a little narfy sometimes but I don't use it much so I can't talk, but it seems like it should be cleaned more if it's open. Parking is a bit of an issue and totally not their fault but I've seen residents who have bought two covered spaces for their car so they can park their car in the middle of two spots which just adds to the problem and, in my opinion, should not be allowed. The front gates are always breaking down, again not their fault as it's an inherited issue but it seems like something that just needs to be replaced vs. repaired at this point. Also, the fountain in the front is always breaking and getting gross... It's really cool looking when it's working well but when it's not it looks disgusting. All in all the good far outweighs the bad. And there's not much bad left! Yes, they're apartments so you get some noise from your neighbors. We live on the first floor and have had some absolute nightmares for upstairs neighbors, but we've had some really great ones too and they still make noise, it's just part of living in a multi-family building. You don't get any noise from the highway and very little from being in the flight path from the airport so the buildings are pretty well insulated, I just wish the walls were a little thicker. read more

I have been a resident here for months, there has been some ups and down with management HOWEVER Deann the new property manager for Sky view West is amazing. I have been asking for things to be done for months & she took over and got it done within a week. She makes Sky View West a great place to live. read more

I had the unfortunate experience of living here for 2 years because I signed a long term lease. This place was AWFUL! Everything is broken 70% of the time. Want to go swimming in a clean pool? Forget about it. Want to take a dip in the hot tub? Run water in your apartment tub because the hot tub worked for 1 month out of 24 while I lived there. Maintenance is slow, at best. I had a water leak under my kitchen sink that they did not address until it had rotted away the entire bottom of the cabinet. They fixed the leak and then it took another 6 weeks for them to replace the inside of the cabinet (no, they did not remediate the mold underneath). Had to repair my own toilet, replace my own shower head and waited 3 months to have a water line replaced on the fridge so the ice didn't taste like mold. This is also a dog friendly community that never has bags to pick up after your dog so there is always dog poop on every available surface. Also, the security of this apartment complex is abhorrent! The gates are constantly broken allowing anyone to come in (and use and trash your pool and steal your belongings). While here I had my car broken into, two bikes stolen (both locked outside) and my friend's car had the window smashed...not to mention the domestic abuse next door that I called the emergency number about and they never came. The garbage that you paid for may or may not be picked up and half of what is picked up is strewn along the walkways. It was just a really unpleasant experience. I moved to Texas from Pennsylvania and they sold me with the new "remodels" the pretty (at the time) pool and the proximity to the interstate for work. Don't be fooled. Staff changes monthly so it is a constant training ground. I own a house in PA but when I relocated and was working long hours I didn't want to have to deal with maintenance so I decided to rent. Big mistake. I should have just bought from the outset. Same amount of work but I would have more to show for it. read more

My neighbor smokes marijuana and it seeps into the apartment. You wake up to it in the middle of the night. I can smell it everywhere. I've had the apartment cop come smell it to verify it. The complex shares exiting air vents, so if the A/C isn't on at the exact moment of the neighbors, it blows into the apartment. I've talked to the neighbor and ask him to do in on the patio. I've contacted Avana a month ago with no response, and previously spoke with maintenance twice regarding it. So if you have children, asthma, and any other health issue you are trying to recover form, stay away from this place - also, if your job does random drug testing (all government jobs). I live in building 7 and building 9 also has a huge problem with marijuana as well. FYI I still have problems with the upstairs neighbor living in her tybo gym apartment. The apartment cop has talked with her multiple times now. All in all, I really regret moving here and can't wait to leave. All the issues I've had here, I've never had at my old apartment complex. It was managed very well. This place is pricey due to the location but not worth any of this. read more

My husband stayed there while we were looking for a home to purchase in the Fort Worth area. Very unprofessional and nobody seems to remember anything about what was already discussed. Closing bill also had extra charges even after a final walk through. Make sure you take pictures of before and after. Supposed to have a gated community, gates NEVER worked. Which lead to what we thought was peculiar activity in there parking lot. Does not feel safe and would not suggest this place to anyone staying here for any long term stay. read more

We enjoy living at Avana at Western Center. The staff is always friendly and greets us in passing. Also the maintenance resolves any issues we have in a timely fashion. Our building is very quiet, the gym is always clean, my daughter loves playing outside at the playground,and our dog enjoys the on site dog park. Love this complex and I'm so sad to have to move. If I wasn't relocating, I'd live here for many more years. Ashley and Nathan in the office are amazing, and Tyler and the maintenance team are always on top of any issue I've had asap. Our building got struck by lightning causing my ac to go out and instead of making me wait days with no ac, they came in within the hr and installed a temp window unit until they could get the part they needed, and when my garbage disposal stopped working, They came in to fix it within 30 mins. It's hard to get service like that at any community, but this one goes above and beyond. The one thing that I really love about this complex is how safe it feels. I can take my dog out at all hours of the night and feel at ease unlike other properties I've lived at. They have fun little community surprises like breakfast and coffee at the gate on your way to work! They do pizza parties, have movie nights, and pool parties. There's always so much going on. I live in building 2 and I recommend my building to everyone. Great neighbors, clean, in the front close to the office, and a quick walk to the pool. I love this place and will recommend them to everyone! read more
