What an experience! I went for my first tandem jump and jumped with Joe and Jenz (videographer). I was nervous before the jump but witnessing an earlier group land safely and ecstatic helped alleviate my nerves like before going on a roller coaster for the first time. The front desk crew were professional and very welcoming at check-in. Joe came up to me and said that we were going to land safely, and he would appreciate any help that I could do to make it easier for both of us. He asked me to 1) freefall in a banana pose and 2) help land safely to avoid a sprained ankle and he would take care of the rest and all I needed to do was enjoy the ride. This made it easy for me to focus my attention on what mattered. Both Joe and Jenz made sure I was excited, comfortable, and engaged. Their energy level helped keep me focused on this unforgettable experience. My videographer Jenz also added to the experience through his excitement and the videos and photographs were excellent. If you're on the fence, then trust me and just do it. Incredibly friendly and professional gang here. There's a little area for a kid (my five year old was entertained with the LEGO's, chalk and coloring) plus we brought her bike and she was able to ride directly out front before the "do not cross" street writing. This place is always two hours from us so my husband jumps often - he's trying to get his C license now and the weather here can be fairly dependable. They have a big and small plane depending on how many people go up. Two bathrooms, an area to warm up food and there's a subway and McDonald's near by too. Like other places they offer someone to be able to ride in the plane up and down if they don't wanna jump. read more

My friends and myself went to Skydive West Plains this last weekend for some first time skydiving fun!! Incredible experience overall! I initially made reservations to jump on a Saturday, however, the weather wasn't going to allow that to happen. The company made sure to reschedule us right away for the Friday before and it turned out to work better! It was all of my friends' first time and they all purchased the video package which was incredible and well worth the price. We can't think of anything that would have made our experience better. Come here for the experience, stay here for the people. If you've never jumped out of a perfectly good airplane, you should! You've got two great parachutes on your back and an amazing instructor to keep you safe. The people here are fantastic and their joy is so infectious you'll want to come back again and again -- which you totally can! You can learn how to skydive here and jump out of a plane with your own parachute and no one attached to you. It's a very awesome experience and this place does it right. read more

Every skydiving dropzone has it's own little flair. I would describe this one as a "big little DZ". It's big enough to handle up to a few tandem passengers at a time or plenty of fun jumpers. It's small enough that the staff feel like family and the owner jumps too! The caravan and supercharged Cessna can turn all day & keep the jumpers moving! There's a nicely manicured lawn to land in and a huge carpeted hangar to pack your 'chutes. It's pretty much in the middle of nowhere (45 mins from Spokane), but the campground/trailer park lot holds people for overnighters & weekend boogies. The staff here are a fun bunch, and they are very welcoming. There are a big range of skill levels, so plenty of people to group up with. These guys are legit! Did a tandem jump here with a group from outdoor recreation at Fairchild AFB last summer. Location is a bit out in the boonies--as are most drop zones. However, the lines weren't too long, the instructors were very helpful, and I got my face on camera and video; not to mention it was a beautiful day to jump! For pricing, they're pretty competitive compared to other USPA approved jump sites: ~$225/tandem jump (solo is a lot more inexpensive). They also have a course in case you want to get your Class A license, which is also at a competitive price! I will be back here soon to get my Class A license. I have been away from Skydiving for a few years (7). Wanting to get back into it I found this DZ near Spokane. Gave it a try and was very happy with my choice. The instrcuctors spent good time with me and made sure I was safe to jump again. I went through he refresher course and then jumped with Lee, one of the jump instructors. The location is about 1 hour from Spokane. great area to jump with open spaces and multiple alternate landing spots. The plane was well kept and comfortable. The BEST part of it was the environment, everyone was very friendly and accommodating. From the manager to the instructors, manifest and the tandem guys. Wonderful people. The packing area is spacious and comfortable, good bathrooms Very close to gas stations, food and a Starbucks in the next exit. Well, overall I had a great experience and will make this my DZ. Finally decided it was time to get off my rear and learn to skydive, so I signed up for a course at West Plains Skydiving. I can't say enough about how great the staff, instructors and pilots have been during this process! You need a great deal of trust in the people teaching you when you are falling thousands of feet and everyone at West Plains has earned that trust from me. Hundreds of hours were spent explaining things to me, answering questions and encouraging me. They comforted me when I needed it and made me "man up" when I needed that too! Everyone has a bad day one in awhile, even professionals. Having spent hundreds of hours with the staff of West Plains has shown me that, even on the hardest days, they take things seriously. Safety is number one and fun is right behind that. Stay clear ! I took my first jump here in Sept 2009. Worst experience of my life. First off the instructor I did my tandom jump with was in a heated argument with management about them wanting him to take another jump immediately after mine, which he did not want to do but eventually agreed to (all this took place in front of me). They had some show to get to in Spokane. I went up in the plane, jumped and had a one minute free fall which was great, he pulled the cord took a couple of turns then let me take control for a few seconds. Then he tells me there is a student that jumped that is below us that he has to catch up to (on my money ?). So he proceeds to pull hard on one side which puts us into a spiral rapid decent, after a short time he pulls out and he says the student is still below us, off we go into another spiral, at this point I yell back at him that this isn't working for me, my stomach is getting queasy. He finally pulls out of it and there we are coming in for a landing. No time to enjoy the float down at all. I'm suppose to keep my feet up and let the instructor take the landing, well, we are coming in so fast I land right on my butt. He asks if I'm ok and I say I think so (adrenaline still pumping).My wife who watched said we came in alot faster than everybody else she watched land. He unhooks us and tells me to head to the hanger and someone will get me out of my harness as he heads for the plane. I head to the hangar and look around for some help, after several minutes and no help, I start to get out of things myself, at that time an employee sees me and comes over to get the harness off me. My butt was bruised and sore for weeks. After the adrenaline wore off I got angrier and angrier about the way I was treated. I eventually e-mail them with my complaint about the whole ordeal. Never heard a single thing back from them, certainly not a way to run a buisness. I would never go to them again or ever recommend them to anyone ! read more
