Somewhat between the garden park style cemetery and the lawn style cemetery, it is a lot more "united with nature" than many. There are quite a few trees and shrubs and the stately Chapel of the Resurrection which is in a Gothic design. There do not seem to be any rhyme or restriction for the memorial plots. A variety of different styles and sizes. One of the largest is near the entrance, that of David Gottlieb Yuengling (March 2, 1808 - September 27, 1877) who was the founder and first president of America's oldest brewery here in Pottsville, D. Becky was our Director and undertaker during this process. Our family had used Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home in 1997 to direct and inter my Grandfather. 19 years later, this business is still the same professional, comfortable, and welcoming establishment as it was back then. Becky is a very warm-hearted and empathic Director. She took excellent care of my Grandmother. From hospital transportation, to private viewing, to internment, she was there every step of the way to answer all our questions. Ultimately, she removed the burden of logistics away from my family and let us focus on bereavement and grieving. From my personal experience with this business, which spans two decades, it is my firm belief that Becky will carry the company forward in the same manner as the its predecessors.

During the preparations the customer service we received was not what I expected considering the business they are in but when it came down to the actual day of service, Mr. Wilczek took care of everything and made sure everything was in place before, during and after the service. It made a very difficult day a bit easier. So if you can get past the non compassion and cold demenor you will be happy with the services.

Ownership has changed and it is now run by the owner of the Bunnell Funeral Home's in Bloomsburg and Millville. The funeral home sits alongside a rural road in the country outside of Catawissa. Entrance to the building now varies with the size of the funeral, it can either be in the original back entrance or the new handicap accessible entrance that has been built in front of the building. The parking lot can become quite crowded if it's a larger funeral. Due to some rearrangement and changes in placements, seating has been increased for the family with the addition of a few dozen seats. Interior still holds about fifty seats for mourners, with room for twenty additional people standing. The interior is simple and dim. I would describe it as if you were going to your grandparent's house in many ways; older style furniture sits against the back and sides for people who can't sit comfortably in the wood folding chairs. It can get a bit warm inside if there's a larger funeral. The carpeting has been completely replaced as part of the recent changes. The people here really do a good job in your time of mourning. Everything was beautifully prepared for the funeral; they take the time to make sure they know about the person's life. Funeral was nothing but smooth making it an easier time for everyone involved. They do a great job at making the situation about as well as it can be.
