At the edge of Banks Lake this quiet little Motel provides a great, clean room, with a view of the lake that is just 30 feet from your door. The rooms don't have coffee but they brew it in the office at 7am. I'm an early-riser so they provided me a small coffee pot. So nice! In the morning I sat with my coffee and watched boat cruise up lake to go fishing, geese paddle from one side of the lake to the other and a family of quail with 15+ chick's graze for breakfast. Disappointing, but not a deal breaker, is the small TV. We had our own electronics so we were good. Very reasonable price, very peaceful and well worth the visit. Would highly recommend this privately owned, personally run businsss. We will return. read more

The boss blond smoker possibly owner was extremely rude, and felt racist. The rooms were left in unsatisfactory condition. There is a lot left to be desired. Like bringing home bed bugs, or not getting friendly customer service. Multiple people have received bad service and left their stay early from this accommodation. read more

This is a great place to stay for the money. The rooms are unfortunately dated, and the beds are worn but the views are amazing. Sam the cat will probably come say hello to you, and the staff is great too. Coffee is waiting for you in the lobby in the morning, and there is a decent amount of parking for your boat/ trailers. Skip to main content Firstly,after calls and 3 emails, I never got a confirmation. The room was weird! The queen bed was moved away from the only nightstand making the nightstand useless. On the other side we had to use lawn furniture. Sticking out of the side of the bed on the side of the bed next the wall and only about 18" from the wall was 2 boards cut at an angle attached to the bed sticking out about 6 inches. Trying to squeeze thru there in the dark was a nightmare and my ankle was cut and bruised more than once. I wound up on the couch from then on. Rags in the sink from the so called cleaning, dirty pool, messy grass area cluttered with everyone's crap. Holes in the walls. The place is poorly managed and not taken care of. The girl on the phone who booked me was both rude and acted like booking a room was a chore that she did not want to be bothered with. Coulee Dam is going down hill if this is how it is now. Our friends have been going here for years and their friends before them. Last week was our first stay at Skydeck Motel. It was fabulous! Super nice staff. Clean rooms. Excellent location so close to boat launch. Beautiful views from most rooms. Large lawn area. Right on water. Lots of parking. Free coffee in lobby. Pots and pans, dishes, flatware, dining table in our room with microwave, stove, big fridge and coffee pot. A/C worked great. Lots of people gather outside their rooms and socialize and watch the storm go by or watch people go by on jet skis and boats. Great price. We will go back. :) read more

This place is right next to Banks Lake. Very convenient to lake access. They offer AC in the rooms which is a plus in the heat. The private balcony with chairs was nice. It had a nice kitchen area. Downfall: There was lots of flies in our room, we had to ask for more then 1/2 a roll of toilet paper, and our tv remote was dead so had to ask for new batteries. The pool looks like it needs a good cleaning. read more

Would have given zero stars if it was an option. Our usual go-to motel(s) in the area was booked up so we thought we give this place a try. Called on a Sunday to make a reservation for the next night. Gave the woman I spoke with my credit card number and told her we would be checking in late (after their office closed at 10pm). She mumbled something that sounded like an expletive under her breath...then in a very begrudgingly voice said she would charge the card and leave the key & receipt under the mat for room number **. We arrived Monday night around 10:45 pm with two kids in tow only to find out that the room number (**) didn't have a key under the mat...it didn't even have a mat. We searched every room that had a mat (not many) for a key. I repeatedly called the office number hoping that someone might answer...I left a voicemail and never heard back from anyone, not even the next day. Unbelievably rude customer service! read more

Great location on Banks Lake....right on shore. Clean room ...comfortable bed, pool and hot tub. No microwave in our room, but refrig and flat screen TV. No coffee maker in room. Good hot shower and tub...plumbing a little noisy, but not bad. Price was right. Would stay here again. read more

Our family used to stay at the Skydeck every year when I was young. We always had a great time back then. It was always a great place to stay and enjoy Banks Lake and the areas around it. My dad and I recently started returning for our annual fishing trips, and not too pleased with what I've seen. The hot tub was removed and filled in with concrete. It was always nice to relax there in the evening or on cool days. The beds are worn out and not too comfortable. The sink and tub barely drain. But what bothers me the most is the geese. I don't mind geese but they are all over the waterfront lawn, which is completely unusable to guests due to being covered in goose dung and feathers. Not suitable for children to play, and the geese will hiss at you and chase you if you venture into their territory. It was NOT this way when I was a kid, and I used to be able to play on thr lawn. The geese are everywhere because the owners daughter (who is also the manager) feeds them multiple times every day. After several days of watching this, I confronted her on her activity. She gave me attitude back, and I admit I lost my cool with her and was rude about it, but we were told that we had 15 minutes to pack up and leave before she would call the police... At 8:30PM mind you. I ended up having to smooth things over with her and the owner (her father) and we did not get kicked out, but the goose issue brings me concern about having my young son stay here. The manager thinks that every other Park on the lake is the same, this is not true. Every other Park on the lake does not have employees feeding the geese on a daily basis. The manager also had a similar confrontation with our neighbors. The hotel owners need to give thought to what the hotel will become in her stewardship. read more

Rooms with a view...literally on the water. I stayed here because it was close to my project having tried to book last minute. I was surprised how affordable it was being next to the water. The rooms were clean, close to everything, and comfortable. Staff was pleasant and the view.....I thought I heard angels when I looked out. Definitely worth staying at. It's a nice motel but it's overpriced with no amenities. The pool is very small and dirty. The rooms do not have hairdryer or microwave, and the furniture is very outdated. On the bright side it's on the water with access to the water and nice sliding glass doors to outside with nice Adirondack chairs. I would give this place a good review if I paid less. It was just too much money for being a little on the old and dirty side. read more

we have stayed in a couple of motels in the Grand Coulee Dam area. When we called to set up 4 rooms for a funeral in the area, there were "no rooms at the other inns". We had never stayed at the Sky Deck Motel but decided to try it for 2 nights. We were impressed with the size of the room, the cleanliness of the room, and the peacefulness of being right on the river....watching the water and the boats going by from our window. It's an older motel, doesn't have microwaves or coffee in the room...but they are available in the office. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. If we need to go back to the area, this would be the first place we would try and make reservations. read more

I love this place. It is near to my heart, my childhood, and I come every year with my large family when possible. I work front desk at a hotel, so I've learned a few things about what makes a hotel satisfactory. I've learned that as long as you have decent amenities, the hotel is clean, the hotel obtains high security, and you make great relationships with your guests, your guest will be satisfied. Pros: Everything was great. My room may not have been up to date, but it was clean and smelt fresh. The view never gets old, the front desk was friendly, and I felt relaxed. Cons: the hotel security was terrible. One night, my uncles very expensive truck was stolen over night and many cars will rifled through. the hotel only had security cameras that would cover what they needed to protect the hotel, not the guest. All they could do is say the classic "I'm sorry we will 'install cameras as soon as possible'" (which isn't s guarantee) and I was greatly disappointed in this. I had a similar issue at my hotel, but we had footage of the car being stolen helping the investigation tremendously. Guests must feel safe in order to have a comfortable stay. The beach has sharp rocks that butcher your feet and my 3 year old cousin bit the dust on one of the cement pillars. If they at least put in a dock for boats/jet skis (considering they are the only hotel on the lake), stairs, and a softer/cleaner/safer beach would improve the hotel. This hotel is a great part of my childhood and then some and I enjoy every second that I am there, I would give 5 stars if I felt completely safe and the beach was better. read more

I will never return to this motel. The owners daughter cussed at my wife across the courtyard and called us "trash" for leaving a couple water bottles on the picnic table. The amount of goose poop is incredible. You can't play on the grass without getting it in your shoes and tracking it in the hotel room. it's literally everywhere. Don't let your children fall over because they will be covered in poop. Don't forget the lovely smell of the septic system. Very strong. Yum. The big tree in back yard is a cherry tree that has tons and tons of bees, I was stung myself. Other then the manager, goose crap, bees and the septic system. It's pretty cool, it has a great beach for your kids to play and a nice dock to fish and swim off....wait, doesn't have that either. Don't waste your time. Go next door to coulee play land or go to sunbanks resort. read more

Our friends and family have given this place a lot of business over the past few years, never again. This place is now run by the owners daughter who is completely unprofessional and has no clue about customer service. She will run this place into the ground. She feeds the geese out on the lawn every morning which has caused the geese to use the yard as their regular and preferred bathroom. if you go to the camp ground next door or and other resorts on the lake there is hardly any goose droppings. There is no dock, no beach, no access to the water on the property other than the dirty, small pool. The pool area is also where they pile up the raked goose droppings. If you have children defiantly do not stay here unless you don't mind them playing in a goose litter box. The rooms are outdated with no amenities, are way over priced and the lawn obviously has the aroma of a goose toilet. We also watched her give a regular guest a hard time for having his service dog, Shame on her. read more
